Oh, the buzzer is back, nice :) I remember when I was working for a WISP (that's where I met MIkrotik's products and I'm extremely thankful for that), we had a script on every RB which played the song from Super Mario Bros World 1-1. When a field technician colleague asked me to show him, which link needed tweaking, I just ran this script. The new hires often bursted out with laughter when hearing it for the first time :D
Buzzer is a KILLER feature, it was one of the reasons why I switched to Mikrotik back in 2016! I need it because I've got large installations where it is sometimes necessary to find the correct switch/router and I could just buzz the RB2011 and the on-site technican would be able to know which of the routerboards I meant when I said that it had an issue / needed something plugged in / whatever
@@michaelmouton53 since youtube is not allowing me to post links, just google for mikrotik super mario, and the link pointing to github should be the right one
I would love to see some GPIO. I realize it can be a money and time sink with protection, isolation etc, but just 1k ohm impedance on a few bidirectional pins could make wonders for interfacing with SPI, I2C, UART and external buttons and relays. But I am thankful for your offerings, but as a customer I always want more :)
I was a bit sad after switching from a 1009 to a 2004, realizing it doesn't have a buzzer. Always played some nice tune when the pppoe session was up. Bring it back please, it cost's maybe 10ct. :)
Something left out of the sales pitch: RouterOS supports running containers, so you can end up with a custom solution on top of a solid foundation, if your needs require it. The only thing I would love to see would be an internal USB header and a central hole for mounting customer-supplied extra stuff to.
On the block-diagramm a PCIe 2.0 connection is seen to the M.2 slot. Does it mean there is a possibility to add a third WiFi radio (for example WiFi 6E or 7 in 6GHz)?
I want to ask if this device can be used for PTP connection at 12 km distance. What is the best-recommended Antenna to be used for this connection to achieve the topmost throughput? what is the maximum throughput I can get from this solution?
Please make a video about the Ethernet test result, like example how are you testing it, and the real world application of it, etc.. we also would love to see what is the Xena Networks that you use to test almost every Mikrotik hardware? is it a hardware, software, or maybe both?
No buzzer on the RB5009? I am disappoint. The buzzer is great for any (faster than your NIC) notifications, especially network drop / GW moving to secondary WAN / SMS received, use your imagination. If the successor to the RB5009 UPr does not have a buzzer, I will be pissed. @MikroTik Just leave a speaker header and space in products so customers can install their own if the price point of adding one makes them prohibitive, they're insanely useful!
No modem compatibility list to be found? MiniPCI-e slots:1, great, but how long are they? Where is the temp sensor at, and is there only one? This product listing needs to be updated!
Mini PCIe cards (aka MiniCard) only come in two sizes: half and full, and this one is obviously "full" length (50mm). Perhaps you're confusing with M.2, which comes in many lengths (and several widths)?
3:50 same size as RB922. This should mean the official CA411-711 case will fit. $15 for an aluminum case (with panels) is way cheaper than I can make myself!
What kind of sfp does it take. Can it be cis or Mikrotik? The buzzer is the best for rebooting/reformating board. Lora card is great idea for outage power msg. TY :-)
stop putting only two core for arm based cpu, it's just to slow even with my routerboard AX2 which one have 4 cores, with a 1Gbps network, if you make a wireguard tunnel, you only get 200Mbps of bandwidth At least make some routerboard with intel n95/n100/n200 cpu
DIY router should have wider input voltage range. Imagine putting this into somewhere that uses acid battery voltages of 12V. Like RV. Or offgrid-garage with 48V battery. And you tell these people - fkoff, we limit you to 18-28V. Cmon.
$250 to run routeros unlocked if I want it on my own product. But if I wan to to be constrained by your hardware I get it for free. No weird licensing indeed.
@mikrotik I’m not seeing the physical dimensions in the web link or brochure. Please could you advise. Thank you. Ah, someone further down says the same 105 x 105mm dims as RB922. Edited to add the dims from MikroTik’s kind reply: 113.8 x 107.4 x 26.6mm

I am happy to see my "Bring back Buzzer" campaign worked ! 😂
Now we just need it to come back on all Mikrotik products.
Buzzer is a good feedback response. Glad to see its back !!!

RB-M33 has those
Good to see no shortage of ideas in the comments, looks like a great RB. Long live the buzzer

Hello Mikrotik, please, make the same routerboard, but with m.2 slot for LTE modems and USB3. As i see, there is place on PCB for m.2 slot!
I miss the buzzer in new mikrotik devices... I still have an old 951Ui to just make sounds when requested by other devices
i have 951G too, valuable devices those are

Nice board. Wish it had native 2.5 gig POE in port instead of 1 gig. Although 2.5 gig SFP is a nice change.
It’s not customizable without an M.2 slot for 5G card
I would really love to see two mini pci-e slots ... one is a bit lack for systems all-in-one
Glad to see that RouterBoard products get updated. Great work!
I wish Mikrotik would get products certified with Verizon here in the US. I could sell the fire out of them instead of Cradlepoint.
please make an M.2 version for the modem connection
lov the presentation style. and the board yes! gg mikrotik!
Is R11eL-FG621-EA compatible with this board?

does this support 802.11k/v/r?

Boris! You forgot to mention the main POC point, that the "heavy is good, heavy is reliable!"
"If it doesn't work you can always hit them with it." - not the right way to do RMA, that's for sure...

I'm late to the party, but can I use this board to do a DIY LTE/5G backup router? Do they have min pci cards for them? Total nub here.

Still here just waiting for a 24 port 2.5Gb POE++ switch.
Is there any nice-looking case for the board available in the market ?

@@satoshimanabe2493 Thanks for the info !
Smart move.. but still wish to see a mikrotik made outdoor AP 😁

KNOT with ARM maybe, increased storage?
Another missed oportunity. Quad core CPU, 1Gb of RAM and SFP+ 10G cage and it would be perfect.
it woudl be much better with two ethrnet ports.
Why does L11UG-5axD say it’s dual chain 5ghz bandwidth is 2400Mbps and this is 1200?
Add a microcontroller with gpio pins, it would be perfect.
Which case can be supported for outside use?
Does it support PTP Hardware Timestamping? This would make a great PTP Server with a GNSS Module

i need the buzzer so my statement "mikrotik can do anything, even play the mario themesong" is correct again :)
Nice explanation video, God bless.
buen videos, saludos desde Perú latinoamerica.
Why not WiFi 6e?
Is it support sata?

Wake me up once there's a board with arm64 and m.2 b-key slot for 5G modem
