I just purchased 4011 for my office. Need to merge two WANs and do some user management. Product look n feel was great but Mikrotik should also put some resources on user interface. It gives me hard time to configure very trivial settings in router.
Im wondering how can i connect multiple AP some via wired some wireless? Not all area can connect via ethernet/poe. 3 storey house and each level only have 1 ethernet port and difficult to install additional wiring to additional AP on the same floor. Pls advise if Audience can communicate effectively wireless with other AP
i like mikrotik but the gui from the processing surface caused me more pain than it should and then i still lack wifi 6 and wpa 3 support if that doesn't come slowly i have to go to the competition unfortunately
I've ordered my ac3 which is due to arrive tomorrow. It was the only wireless router that came with PoE out, which I need for a doorbell. It's going to replace a Netgear if the coverage can be matched. Fingers crossed.

My setup is as flows: - Modem: ISP with 150 Mbps - router: xiaomi redmi ax6 + unmanaged switch - proxmox hypervisor (3 VMs running: Home Assistant, AdGuard Home, Nextcloud own instance) - 2 Raspberry Pi's (media streaming + mqtt server for smart home) - wired connection - smart home (51 devices on wifi and 8 zigbee devices, Zigbee Hub is WiFi) - 3 laptops (mostly on wifi 5GHz) - 3 smart phones - TV (streaming and media server for video and music) - smart home is growing (about 20 devices are more to come in our home). Current router is not capable for hnadling such traffic over home network, wifi is unstable and keeps crashing, so new infrastructure is needed (at least one cAP is needed) Which your product do you recommend? Hi, since so far no one gave you an idea, im here to help you out a little bit. So you have extreme amount of wireless devices. In this case i would recommend the RB5009 as core router, doing routing, firewalling and act as DHCP server (+VLANS if needed). If you need Wifi 2 (Wave 2 introduced MU (multi-user) MIMO, for starters. That means it can service multiple client devices using multiple antennae.) //youll definetely need it // youll need to purchase the Hap Ac3 because of the hardware req. of the wave2 package (needs 256mb system memory). I would reccommend you to use your core router (RB5009) as CAPsMAN too and connect the HAp ac3 wireless interfaces to the server because if you expand your wireless (in case multipla aps needed) the management of your wireless network will be managed in a single place, on the RB5009 and dont have to mess around and configure every single ap one by one (learned this lesson by the way, i have 6 aps...) I highly recommend connecting most of the devices via ethernet cable (AV receiver, TV, PCs, servers, raspberry pis) and only handheld devices and iot devices which have no ethernet interface over Wifi. Connect the HAP ac3 to the RB5009 using cables and never bridge two aps via Wireless, a lesson ive learned... And for a switch... i would reccommend the CRS326-24G-2S+RM and/or if you need POE output than the CRS328-24P-4S+RM or little brother CRS112-8P-4S-IN. My personal setup is : Core Router : CCR2004-16G-2S+ Core Switches : 2xCRS326-24S+2Q+RM PoE Switch : CRS328-24P-4S+RM (running 8 security cameras outdoor, 8 indoors and 6 access points total Wireless APs : 2xHAP ac3 and 2x Cap AC XL and 2x WAP ac LTE/5G Failover : Chateau 5g + Poynting XPOL-2-5G 5G Antenna (Chateau is modded, added HGO-LTE-W external antenna to replace internal antennas) Cables are Cat7 Shielded cables everywhere and for short 10Gbps SFP+ runs i use XS+DA0001 or XS+DA0003 (1m or 3m) for longer distances S+85DLC03D (max 300m distance) interface with OM3 LC-LC cables (25/50/100M lenghts). This setup is only for home usage (ofc i have 3x hp DL380p GEN8 servers running game, web, voip and other services/servers also my "hosting company" runs from my home servers too. And this is my 2022 setup so far. Planned to swap my ISP Plan from 500/250 mbps to 1/1Gbps, but it will cost me a fortune :D hope i helped! :)

@@andrejsersen59 Rpi4 isnt really designed to be a router. Since you mentioned the rb5009 i would purchase one of that and use it as a router. Honestly i never tested rpi4 as a router but since they got only one network interface, its quite challenging to setup as router. USB NICs are exists but still they arent reliable because usb devices are stressing the cpu firstly

With your managed switch it will get you going for some time until/if you decide you need more power then you can go for 5009. But with 500Mbs ISP HAP Ac3 will be more than enough. It has wireguard and ZeroTier packages too, which were important for me. For it's price it's one of the best device of it's kind.
I would like to ask that MikroTik products are made compatible with standard PoE. Having a PoE switch and still needing injectors is a pain. I would probably have bought another 2 cAP AC's if this were the case. Just a thought 👍
standard poe is 802.3af/at -- which the cAP AC supports. It will output same voltage as applied to it. If you're powering the cAP AC off your MikroTik that has POE OUTPUT, then it'll only be 24v passive. Majority of MikroTik devices support both 24v passive or 802.3af [48v poe]

@@amateurwizard That is incorrect. Majority of MikroTik AP's can be powered via 24v passive OR 802.3af/at standard poe... What PoE switch are you using? Have you even tried a MikroTik Cap AC and plugged it into your current PoE switch. I guarantee it'll work just fine. Or if you have a MikroTik router that has POE output on one of the ports -- the CapAC will power up via 24v passive that is being output from said MikroTik router.

So I can go to the market and search for it myself. there is a big open market here where all computer devices are sold and there are multiple distributors of a lot of networking products. I've been your big fan for many years, but what you've done with the wifi on your devices cries out to heaven for vengeance. Briefly - mikrotik and wifi = problems, lack of stability. You had huge problems with the N standard, then AC. Until now, you have not solved the problem repeatedly reported by users for wifi in 2.4GHz, e.g. on phones etc. Yes, the RB4011 device is great, but only as a cable router. Why can't I get a bandwidth higher than 460Mbps where it is in peak and I always have about 120-200Mbps. By connecting, for example, TP-Link, I always achieve a stable 700-900Mbps. And finally - if the presentation of your products by a woman is to encourage You to buy them, it congratulates the idea, all the time I thought that if your products are so good, they will defend themselves, won't they?

With indoor omnidirectional antennas, position and angle has little to no effect.
