Great video! I just returned from my annual trip and caught my biggest Halibut to date....a 183 pound beast! Caught while jigging for lincod in about 100 feet of water
Wow @jonathanproctor690 congrats on the massive halibut! I bet that was quite a surprise if you were targeting ling cod and then that big hali hit! Tight lines! Captain Zac
Always fun watching you guys having fun out there. You guys are truly blessed to share your passions on the water. Wishing you both a safe and successful run the rest of the season. Keep a tight line. If it doesn’t budge much on the hookset then lookout! :)
Nice halibut! Can't wait for head thumps next week! As a non-resident, I have a hard time identifying rockfish that I can keep. My general theory is that the more brightly colorful, the less likely I can keep it. Is there a better guide for identifying the non-pelagic variety?
A lot of fish&wildlife departments have online lists with pictures to identify local species. Some universities will also have an online or printable list of them.
Zac, Nice haul of fish there. Halibut with some Cod and Rockfish mixed in is always good. Hope your Coho fishing has been picking up. Sounds like they been doing pretty good over in the Sitka area which is a bit early. Also still some keeper Kings around which is a bit late for them. Can't wait to get back up there. Tight lines my friends.
Another fantastic day, with a great fish, and a full freezer. I am worried about Mary. Refusing an electric reel when you're at 500 feet, something is just not right. I'll bet you have her converted soon. Keep up the good work, Captain.
another awesome fishing trip Captain Zac, a couple of beauties landed too, enjoyed the trip with you team, thanks, thumbs up and greetings to all,, Tony.
Which are better eating, the rock fish or the Cod? Nice video. Have to see if you have a boat tour. Looks like you have good cockpit space and running on a single engine. Maybe it would be a nice boat for me in Connecticut!
Hi Craig thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed this halibut action! Tough call! I like them both - rockfish are more firm and dense and make great fish tacos or coconut curry fish. Cod is a softer and flakier but has outstanding mild sweet taste - great for fish and chips! Very nice! My Petersburg trip was not as fruitful, a ton of chickens and a few 20-30lbers. Still great times and plenty of crab and fish but didn’t break the 50lb mark on halibut
Hey @williammorgan9299 many thanks for the positive comment and I'm glad you enjoyed this halibut action! Oh cool - I hear there is some great fishing down around Prince Rupert! Thanks again for stopping by and tight lines! Captain Zac
@CaptainZac thanks, It's great fishing out in prince rupert! I'm new to you're channel it's awesome watching all the good content you are putting out with trolling for kings and coho! Keep it up 👍🏾
Hi @fredbrown8894 I'm using a Daiwa Seaborg 500mj which is small enough to jig with the real in hand but powerful enough to haul in barn doors! Tight lines my friend! Captain Zac
Another great trip!! Thanks for sharing it with us. I am always looking forward to your next video. A mixed bag of some fantastic table fare, can't beat that. Hope you are doing well. Good luck, have fun, and be safe out there my friends.
Awesome again! Love Mary's hook set she about comes out of her boots ! Do you know why you have to do deep release on rockfish but not on the Hali's and do what of release on the cod? Thanks
Captain Zac and Mary What a day on the water… Great boat handling skills. Them waves are exhausting. Beautiful halibut. I’m currently in Petersburg. Just finished up are 3rd full day. Halibut fishing is great. Largest is 92 so far. Two days left, go home Wednesday… The weather is the best I’ve ever seen it. Water is like a pond…. Tight Lines may friend… E
Nice halibut, Captain Zac! That's what we like to see! That size are some wonderful eating. Some beautiful rockfish by Mary, too!

Rock fish all day but captain Zack talked me into trying cod and quite delicious
Hey @@CaptainZac, I've never had either one of those type of fish. Do you know where I can order them from?
My location is Pensacola Florida

Another Captain Zac/Mary successful trip. I wonder if you freeze most of the fish you catch or eat them fresh?
You ever try close to shore very early season like when them herring are running?
Awesome again! Love Mary's hook set she about comes out of her boots ! Do you know why you have to do deep release on rockfish but not on the Hali's and do what of release on the cod? Thanks

what electric reel and rod and line combo are you using ? great catches
Great catch Zac, that Hali was huge.
Nice!!! Excellent mixed bag of delicious groceries!
Nice Hali, Zac! Always a pleasure to follow you and Mary. Have had a good season in Kachemak Bay, freezer full of Hali and king portions 😊.
Mary just about turned inside out with that jerk on the bite!! She is so cute, and what a great fishing companion you have, Zac!
Is that the tip of Admiralty?
Nice Hali 👍👍
Great video. Glad you were so successful. I would like to be able to filet fish as fast as you do. Tight lines to you both.
Nice to see Mary wearing a brace for her fishing rod. Must be nice for her too. Very entertaining video.
Too funny
