I tested this sled 2 weeks ago and my riding impressions are 100% aligned with yours. You really explained well how it feels to ride. I had a Mach z and renegade 850xrs to compare and i had the most fun on the Lynx. I ride 450 dirt bike and the weight transfer for me feels like home. The shock package is so good that for me it felt at par or better than the smart shock the 2 other sleds were equiped with. The 3 sleds were set up by the engineers from brp so they were set up perfect. All 3 sleds were perfect and a lot of fun to ride but with my money i would bring the lynx home. Refreshing and cool sled to ride. Snowtrax you guys nail your review. I am a fan now and impressed of the accuracy of your comment.

Well said. I feel that a lot of todays sleds aren’t as fun as they could be. These days I want a ride that’s playful with a personality and not necessarily built to set lap times. Isn’t the st what it’s all about going out and having fun !!

If your not into trail riding but more backcountry/ open fields and such like me in east central Alberta you definitely will want to try out a riot x or alpha hardcore 146, hands down most playful sled I’ve ever rode and happy to own it! To come out of a power carve or Donut into a wheelie while sitting alpha/ riot x is the sled you want🤘🏻

Great review! And don't listen to the obsessed manufacturer loyal guys. Being too loyal to a maker is bad for the consumer. If we all gravitate toward the best products, then it forces all of the manufacturers to improve and innovate. Anyway, what sleds would you compare this to in the market? I have been riding Arctic Cat XF sleds for several years, and am now on a '22 Polaris Matryx SB Assault 850. My XFs have been great and reliable, but the Assault is so light, nimble, athletic. Most exciting sled I have ever been on. Your description of the Lynx sounds like it should be a head to head comparison with the Assault, but dimensionally, they are different. So, fill in the blank...If you are happy riding your __________, then you will love this Lynx. Thanks!!!!

At a mere 160 pounds and a athletic, fit age 63, I can ride it as intended. BEST trail bump basher. NOT too stiff. Clearly the extra cost went in to shocks. Our groomed trails are moguls by noon. Great for that. Far less tiring. This sled was a "Polaris aint coming" find. I'll be looking at the XTerrain 146 length as well. Might be my Assault Killer.

My experience with the Rave will now lead me to the Lynx "Assault' aka: Xterrain. I want a 2" track and Xterrain has that. Cancelling or selling my Assault due to arrive at end of month. the stock Assault cannot match ride of the Lynx--that said as a 3-Assault owner, which was my favorite sled ever. I had a Lynx Boondocker 146" and felt it was bit too long. So I sold it and bought a XTrim 137", which is almost the RAVE, it has a narrower skistance, not as wide and flat footboards, slightly higher handlebars. And the track has 2.3" lugs.
Very fun machine, I´ve tried the RAVE and would switch if I had the money, just for the wider skistance.
Superplayful, and if the trail gets too bumpy, just give a little more throttle...

I have a Lynx Boondocker 4100.... Riding in McCall, ID the trail to the riding areas can get whooped out pretty bad, 12"-18" deep whoops on the regular, sometimes worse. Riding my Boondocker across them at speed is actually really amazing. My friends on sleds with traditional skids get bucked around and beat up pretty bad on the trail, usually more than the rest of the mountain ride. I usually have to be in front because the faster I go the better it gets, and everyone else has to stop regularly because of arm pump and sore knees. My suspension works hard and keeps my runners relatively flat, my front suspension isn't as smooth, but that's fixed pretty easily by increasing the speed on this sled, then the front floats a lot better.

I grew up on an Indy 400 in the 80's and I'm still a Polaris guy today - but I'm not so ignorant to insist that NOBODY builds a good sled other than Polaris. Hell I'd throw my leg over an Alpha or a Shredder 7 days a week (not touching the new Ski Doo with a 10' pole). I just wished Yamaha and (more importantly) Cat would cut ties and Yammy would develop their own 2 stroke twin and put it in their OWN mountain chassis. Competition is good, and 4 brands battling is better than 3.

I think BOTH are good sleds for sure - so I wasn't knocking the Lynx - at all. It did remind me of a good suspension Apex but with a lighter feel (obv)- the width of the seat/tank area was what brought back memories from way back when.

i thought Americans and Canadians did know that Rave model is what we call in Scandnavia a "Cross sled" and not cross like "Cross-over".. Cross like a Dirtbike. and Rave is focused on track / trail. like the old Arctic Cat ZR 440 Snow-Pro. but with 600, 700 and 850cc engine´s. RE is always 850 or bigger.
i ride a regular Lynx Xterrain Pro 600R e-tec. yea the smallest one. but its enough for me for sure and the Xterrain is super good both on our Nordic trails and off-trail in deep snow.

Great review but not everyone can't afford to drive a sled like that . That's a 25,000.00 sled all day long . But nice sled over all rich man sled .

I’m a cat guy but always open to try and ride doo, Yamaha and polaris, and give my honest opinion if your a backcountry rider like me doo/ lynx is decent but my alpha 146 has to be the most playful backcountry sled out there! To be able to go from a power carve/ donut while sitting to a catwalk with zero effort says something to me!Not to hate on the lynx/ doo and polaris 146’s lol

This is more like the Axys Pro-X in my mind. The new XCR is way softer than this.

Artic cat has sled named Lynx. But Lynx snowmobiles is an Finnish snowmobile manufacturer since 1960's.
