Toyota Pickup Truck Bed Trailer, Maiden Voyage

First time out with my Toyota Pickup bed trailer, putting it through a stress test. Johnson Valley, CA. KOH 2016. Tow vehicle is my 99 Toyota 4Runner. Great for camping trips. I don't own a pickup truck, only two 4Runners, so having a bed when I need it is awesome!
I cut off the front half of a damaged Toyota 4x4 frame and used the rear portion as the basis for the trailer frame. A 3x3 beam connects the two frame rail ends, another perpendicular 3x3 beam extends out for the coupler mount. The A-frame is finished off with 2 4" c-channel beams. The stock Toyota 4x4 rear leafs are in use with a standard 3" trailer axle, 6x139.7 bolt pattern. It works great off road and has great utility with the original Toyota bed and tailgate. Even the tail lights and signals are wired to function like factory.

im thinking of doing the same thing with my 97 runner but with a 05 tacoma and leave the gas tank in it to to compensate for the towing it as a overland trailer to hold extra fuel

Did you build this trailer? and if so what axle are you using? I have a Toyota bed trailer and it has the old axle. Where can I get a straight axle like yours and run the matching wheels?
