Nothin simple about doin the Fonzie bro. Takes practice and skill. I'm still workin on it myself. Left, right, kick, dip, Whoa!! Easier said than done. lol
I love Happy Days so much, but stuff like this always used to make me laugh. Theyre supposed to be in the 50s/60s and Leather Tuscadero turns up in her 70s outfit, playing in a glam rock 70s style !
And the shag haircut. Actually, all the female cast regulars on Happy Days and Laverne and Shirley had 70's feathered hair for at least half the serieses. But the song sounds reasonably plausibly 50's, unlike Suzi Quattro's real-world hit "Devil Gate Drive," which she did perform on this show.
Henry Winkler was the PERFECT guy to play "The Fonz" on Happy Days, he beat out Mickey Dolenz and Mike Nesmith, both from the Monkees, couldn't picture Mike or Mickey playing Fonzie on Happy Days, Henry Winkler was the ideal guy for that role, The Fonz was SO COOL!!!!!! :)
lol...after Saturday Night Fever came out in 1977, all kinds of TV shows, from CHiPS to Happy Days, felt that they had to incorporate some kind of dance scene into an episode or two.
Nathan Masters no way, I blasted this in my car and got surrounded by hot babes and chicks wanting to rape me. Then I started doing the dance and impregnated several of those girls
❤ I have a boyfriend and when he was in school They called him Fonzie, cause he looked like him too But now seeing Fonzie dance ,I know it's TRUE.They'll never be another Fonzie.. He's just so darn COOL. Caramia ❤.
Henry Winkler made COOL so ironic. Just simple small things he did or vaguely say, made Fonzie the COOLEST person to admire. Its more disturbing that Gary Marshall had to convince ABC wearing a leather jacket wouldnt mean criminal or violent tendency.
Actually, Henry Winkler originally didn't want to wear a leather jacket for that very reason. If you notice in the first few episodes, he wore a cloth jacket. He also didn't want to do the stereotypical hair-combing thing, so he took out the comb, looked in the mirror, and did his now-famous pose instead of combing, and they loved it.
There was a Puerto Rican boy in my 3rd grade class named Carlos and he idolized the Fonz. Carlos wanted everyone to call him the Conz. Carlos was so cute in that burnt orange corduroy jacket he used to wear. I bet he wished his mother bought him a brown leather jacket like Fonzie's.
Considering that the song in the video mentions "The Twist", which didn't debut until 1959, I'd say that your "a time before Dick Clark" statement would be inaccurate.
In the last scene right at the end of The song Do The Fonzie right before The scene freezes and fades out There is a cute girl with blonde Hair to the Right of Fonzie (Henry Winkler) and in a way she reminds Me of actress Candy Moore who played Chris Carmichael on The Lucy Show.Whoever this girl is She might have made a good Girlfriend for Fonzie .. Sometimes Fonzie dated DAPHNE (Hillary Horan) who played the Drums in Richie's band. V
This was a great episode. I used to have it recorded on VHS back in the early 80's. The gang traveled to Chicago, I believe, to get on Sock Hop because it was the only way to get Leather's new song heard by a big audience. Or something like that. It's been 35 years. lol
Trust me, he's never gonna lose his cool. I don't care if he's wearing a pink shirt with turquoise polka dots on it. He's still very cool to me and always will be. :)
Black is slimming - Fonz obviously pigged out on too many hamburgers and fries in Arnold's this season, he must have lost weight by 'doing the Fonzie' everyday cos by the next season he was back to his old white shirt
It’s a caricature of what the 1950s was like in the USA. If you want a realistic look watch the movie American Graffiti. And a few episodes of American Bandstand from the late 50s when it first began.
Fonzie doesn't seem like he really enjoyed this. I think he was forced to do this. In fact, they actually tried and tried to build this guy way above what he reached. I guess doesn't hurt to try but this is how they eventually would "jump the shark".
It's like what they did to Godzilla in "Invasion of the Astro-Monster." They had him do a silly dance based on the manga character Iyami. In trying to appeal to more people, they ultimately ruined what they already had. ruclips.net/video/G_nsQTvQ14o/видео.html
THE GREAT AND WONDERFUL ACTOR WHO PLAYED THE COOL FONZIE ON HAPPY DAYS WAS A FAVORITE OF MINE. HE DID A AWESOME JOB ON THE SHOW. I LOVE WHEN HE DID THE DANCE DO THE FONZIE IT WAS GREAT. HAPPY DAYS WAS THE VERY BEST SHOW ON TV. LOVED THE SHOW...
True. Suzi is always great. Did you know that Henry was the original actor chosen for the lead role in Grease, but didn't get it because He couldn't either sing or dance? That's alright. He was great as The Fonz. He did a pretty good job on this episode.
I wish that Bag ZOMBROSKI played by Neil J Schwartz and Chuck . Cunningham 2 Randolph Roberts Had NOT DISAPPEARED from Happy Days with no explanation. MOOSE (Barry Greenberg) And Eugene Belvin played by Denis Mandel and Melvin Belvin (Sçott Bernstein) and Spike (Danny Butch) also VANISHED from Happy Days.with.no explanation.
Viewing tip: When you see the opening credits and Richie and the gang are wearing their red college sweaters----change the channel. The era of "Pump Your Blood" "Do The Fonzie," and "Fonzie's Funeral" is just awful. Trust me, wait until the show's focus switches to Joanie and Chachi when the show gets out of the creative rut it was in for seasons 5-7
At the end of the song there Is a woman with blonde hair Standing directly behind Henry Winkler to the right of Him(Fonzie) This woman is Very cute and pretty I don't Know who she is but she looks a little bit like actress Candy Moore who played Lucy Carmichael's daughter Chris Carmichael on the Lucy Show Also before Chachi Scott Baio played the drums In Richie's band 3 other characters played the drums: Bag Zombroski Neil J Schwartz Sticks Downey John Anthony Bailey Daphne Hillary Horan Daphne was the attractive Brunette who played the drums in Richie's band During season ,4
In later years, circa 1996, I think she talked about how being on Happy Days turned out to be a disaster for her music career. She only appeared on it this one time, too. Her sister Pinkee was even more popular on the show (nearly married fonzee) but she left the show after season 5 because sponsors thought her shorts were too short and revealing. She either had to wear less revealing clothes or leave. She left. I do wonder how the show would have evolved if Pinkee married Fonaz.
I can still remember being in 5th grade and all the girls were doing the fonzie at recess. Growing up back then life seemed so simple.
@이낸시 i sure do agree with that.
It was simple I lived it ! digitaL age scares me
Nothin simple about doin the Fonzie bro. Takes practice and skill. I'm still workin on it myself. Left, right, kick, dip, Whoa!! Easier said than done. lol
I was in 6th grade...do you guys remember the Fonzie tee shirts ?? They had his head....with a thumbs up next to it...with the word ..Ayyyyy ?
I forgot Leather sang the song too...BTW.
I love Happy Days so much, but stuff like this always used to make me laugh. Theyre supposed to be in the 50s/60s and Leather Tuscadero turns up in her 70s outfit, playing in a glam rock 70s style !
You didn't see the episode where Mork from Ork brang her from the future ?
@@jazzmagaly1 yes i saw all of that back in the day.

Couldn't pick a better guy to play the FONZ I really missed those days. GREAT

Wow I never knew that? Many thanks for sharing this history of the Fonz character...
It's amazing to me, also, that for such a short guy (5'6"), he had a commanding presence.
Kevin Rose those other guys were not Fonzie material
He also beat out John Travolta.
Fonzie was such a showman! Leather was awesome!
yes Fonzie did have an awesome jacket
I just realized that the bass guitar that says he Quattro is playing in this episode didn't come out till 1962 and this show was sent back in the 50s
That was Susie Quatro
Man, Fonzie's so cool he even has his own dance.
No one's cooler than the Fonz!
Tik-tok.. ahead of his time.. ;))
I kinda liked there song before . Moonlight Love
Elvis was picture of cool not Fonz
What dance? He just stood there and snapped his fingers! He barely moved!😂🤣
@@natrlchallenge No shit, ya dunce. Look at everyone else. Sheesh, Negative Nancy over here.
Instead of “Jumped the shark”, maybe the phrase should have been, “Did the Fonzie”.
Fonz be praised !
Suzi Quatro was superb... and so was the Fonz.

Hold it! hold it! You do NOT give Fonzie non top billing.

You would have to be in your 40s or 50s to even have a clue what dance it is. 💯

Henry Winkler is a legend....

Wish i kept old episodes on vhs.. The dvds released has all the original music replaced with other songs and it ruins everything.

Do the corny! Fonz was alright tho, in the 1st 3 seasons, here & there in the 4th season, then came the A-Team! Oh, the white shadow prior to that.
