One thing to think of is many potting soils can have cow manure in it from cows who eat alfalfa or grass that was sprayed with weed killers that can kill or stunt the growth of plants depending on the variety ... I'm thinking of calling the companies who sell the organic soils to find out what they mean by organic does it mean no weed killer in the mix ??? But I have collected lots of wild free roaming horse poo for gardening .. and to make your own mulch I found you can order online at tractor supply compressed alfalfa that is organic but still I need call them to see what they mean by organic ... And another good way to make good mulched soil is if you know where you can buy cheap vegetables like 5 to 25 lb bags of carrots and full box's of apples I have seen good deals at flee markets or fruit stands on a street corner

@@nica5191 .... Mix a table spoon full of down dish soap in 2 cups of water and pour it into a hand sprayer then spray the gnats
