I just received my KDS9. I own some very nice 1911's but this guns shoots like it is on autopilot. It is outstanding. The frame weight is almost like the lightweight commander. This is an outstanding firearm !!

Doesn’t the prodigy use MIM parts while Kimber does not?

I do not have either gun, but I appears that it is not the absence of a grip safety on the Kimber that facilitates reaching the mag release but rather the grip circumference vs the Prodigy. I do have a Wilson SFT-9 and a Staccato C2 and again the grip safety that is flush with the frame is not an issue but rather the grip circumference. In all honesty I have large hands so it is not an issue with either guns.

I had a 4.25 Prodigy! It was completed trash. Couldn’t get through a mag without an issue. I tried three different mags too! I sold it within one month if ownership. I bought a Staccato XC! That is for sure amazing.

I own the 4.25 Prodigy also and I have had good service from it. I have approx 1000 rounds through it. I loaded my mags and let them set a couplie of days before I shot it to avoid stiff mag springs issues. That may just be my thinking. I added a vortex red dot to mine and will be doing a Video soon with it.

I have both guns! I had to send my prodigy back because of feeding issues but since I’ve gotten it back it has been an amazing gun. I haven’t shot the kds yet but I can’t wait to do so!

They're both nice firearms. However chances are I'll never own a Springfield Armory product because of the very well known betrayal by SA. The Kimber on the other hand though I'll definitely own at some point. I absolutely love that Kimber in stainless steel. Beautiful handgun. Thanks for the content. God bless

@@hez9028 So your unaware of what SA did?... I guess that's part of the reason the government is getting away with stripping us of freedoms. It's not like it happened 20, 30, 40 years ago. It's still relatively recent. Forgiving these companies so quickly is part of the problem. I won't support anything that attempts to strip me off my freedoms. I would strongly suggest everyone else to the same... Do you support Nike or Bud light? Read a book bro... God bless

the Kimber has a 4" barrel, not a 4.5" as stated in this video. Size-wise, it would be the same as concealing a compact P320, Glock 19, Springfield XDM, or Walther PDP. Weight-wise, you will notice it if switching from a polymer gun, but it's not so hefty that you won't get used to it fairly quick.

You were on a roll till you got to the weight portion. The Kimber weighs about the same as some polymer 9's.

    It’s not a slide release, it’s a slide stop.

Those 2011's really don't take kindly to getting racked on an empty chamber..
