    Rachel O'Leary - One of the most dependable sources of reliable and solid information about aquatics that I have ever come across. This in getting on for half a century of working with water in order to create life support systems to keep aquatic organisms well and happy. She speaks fluently in terms of Latin names, and anatomy. And I get the feeling that what she doesn't know about aquatics isn't really worth bothering with.
    So when she says "heebie jeebies" I think we should class that as a new scientific term, and use it all the while for "wigglies" :o)
    What a seriously wonderful way to start the new year! This cheered me up no end :o)

    I have 6 of the orange/black striped kuhli loach (intending on getting more when I manage to get my 410litre up and running) and I absolutely adore them! They are such fun wee fish. I had never heard of this silver version until this video, so thank you for uploading this video about them! My kuhlis love playing in air bubbles and "dancing" together up and down the glass, they are crazy to watch. I definitely find them cute rather than creepy!

    Omfg eughhhghghghghghghgh that eel thing whenever you lifted the drift wood absolutely turned me. I completely agree with why you thought they were creepy now. I actually felt sick looking at it hahahaha.

    New to your channel but curious as to whether you've kept or keep any larger species of predatory fish? Have you ever worked with any of the channa sp? I had to sell off all my fish and tanks for a move a couple years ago and haven't had the opportunity to get more tanks and fish. However, if and when I get the chance to purchase fish again I'd really like to try my hand with larger species. Especially some of the channa sp. as they're amazing and quite intelligent fish.

    I was actually going to purchase one of these from a local petstore once my new 36 gallon bow front tank is done cycling. As usual the chain petstore gave the wrong information. granted I was going to research the fish before i bought one when the time came. For now the tank has been set up for around a week and I added the first few fish from my old tank. (I used water/decor from my old tank to boost the cycling) I have a male and female betta (both get along and have been housed for a year together surprisingly peacefully) four guppies and a clown plecos. Any suggestions for fish to help populate this planted tank without overcrowding it?

    My shrimp keep dying but water parameters ok, temp at: 27 degrees/80.6 Fahrenheit. They go blue and always die in night. This is in a fluval Spec 5G ( Same as yours ), i have moss, driftwood e.t.c.

      no, i do in other tanks but makes Ph go sky high

    • @addedlife4986
      @addedlife4986 7 лет назад

      The fact that they die at night, made me think it may be to do with lack of oxygen (plants need light to convert co2 into oxygen), are you running an airstone in there.

    • @DerpMaskProductions
      @DerpMaskProductions 7 лет назад

      Harvio lower the temp, when at night plants dont produce oxygen and warmer water retains oxygen less effectifvely, do a big waterchange and make sure ur driftwood and substrate dont leech anything bad into the water

    • @DerpMaskProductions
      @DerpMaskProductions 7 лет назад

      Harvio also what type of substrate are u using? Tetras come from waters with low ph and having them in high ph water might stress them out a bunch and could lead to death possibly. Also, co2 should lower ph not raise it which is strange
