I'm curious if he was being serious or not. In "The Breakup Song" he has a line that says something like "And unless it's in a Newton, I don't want a fig" Completely possible he forgot though lol very much like him to do so
@man_imbored171 rust damages the interior surface of the can, giving more cracks and crevices for bacteria to grow. It also means the can integrity may be compromised, which means more chances for bacteria. It's a risk factor thing.
This show makes me question my sanity, as I casually sit here eating my breakfast I look back on a time when seeing anything remotely disgusting I ran in fear. But now through the power of this show I sit and eat my Taco Bell breakfast without even a hint of gagging, I'm not sure whether to thank you or question my entire life but here we are. Good work guys.
@vanbudil my life is an absolute mess too, just like majority. And I'm actually a big fan of Taco Bell. Was hooked to Volcano Burritos back in about 2011. But I could just never get into their breakfast items
wow, hard to believe that wolf brand chili was 79 cents in the 70s, considering not even 10 years ago you could still get it for $1 at walmart (with beans. Without beans was $1.25).
Makes me question how they're able to raise the price at what would be a major loss compared to inflation. Was it way overpriced before, or have the ingredients become ethically more dubious?
I used to be bummed when they didn't actually taste stuff in these episodes...but now I'm growing concerned by the stuff they ARE tasting! Be safe, boys, we need 2500 more episodes and can't do that if you acquire some strange bacterial illness 😅
I was born in 1990 and hearing that called vintage *sigh*. Sometimes I genuinely forget I'm not 19 until I have those moments where I turn too fast and suddenly my neck hurts.
These boys are so good, I just jummped back into watching their stuff and I have missed the wholesomeness they bring to the world. Thank you for making my morning mythical and bright! Happy Holidays everyone!
We made Figgy Pudding for Christmas a few years ago. It's like a super dense, moist cake. It has flavors of fig, cinnamon, nutmeg. Sort of a fruit cake without all the fruit? We doused it with brandy, set it on fire and ate it with vanilla ice cream as I wasn't certain the kind of cream they used. It was fire and a great family memory 😄
I love the continuous call back to the Boggs smell from his chocolate bar. It still has a little bit of Wade Boggsish smell going on. Is Boggs still number 1 after everything you’ve tried so far?
What intrests me is what is that smell? Not what does it smell like but what "chemical reaction" is happening that makes that smell. What part of food that decays so slowly that creates the smell? I have no clue how to begin to google it either so its just one of those forbidden questions
with all the engineering knowledge they deployed in this episode, I need everyone to know again that not only do they hold engineering degrees they have engineering degrees from the best engineering school in the entire state of North Carolina lol
it's hilarious to me that people are upset that they didn't get to see people poison themselves. "they didn't even taste it" "younger Rhett and Link would've tasted it" are y'all for real??
My god, I thought Jason Segal was tall, standing next to Rhett he looked normal, lol. In all seriousness, I sometimes forget how tall Rhett is when hes sitting behind the desk so much lol
I'm not a normal commenter...I may have left a couple before but I'm straight up MAD that Link didn't get audible props for that catch. Dude... Niiiice!

I'm honestly amazed that they've made 2,500 episodes without getting botulism
Welp, now you jinxed it. 😂
I was going to write the exact same sentence
😂😂😂
Seriously though. And they've never gotten food poisoning either. They must have insane immune systems.
Lol! Oh, they've mentioned on EarBiscuits they weren't all that well a few times. Especially with the reaper pepper challenge!
2018 Stevie: “no, don’t eat that, it might be dangerous!”
2023 Stevie: “what’s that ring situation? Put your tongue on it!”
I noticed that. These ones are so painful.
"Tongue that hole"
You live through a global pandemic and your outlook on life shifts a little 😂
She's all about tongueing rings.
The duality of man
"I wanna see you dry-heave" might just be the perfect description of their friendship
"Rhett's tongue is spoiled, so we need a new tongue." That's a brand new sentence if I ever heard one.
Stevie really didn't need to say "tongue that ring" but here we are
@@Cripplified
Hahahaha!! 😂😂
It’s giving Buddy System season 2 vibes😂
There's so many in this episode. "I feel like you could tongue that.", "You blew that Wolf chili!!", etc
Nono! She said "soiled" 😆
Rhett running away after opening everything immediately is hilarious xD
Link not knowing fig newton's had figs is such a Link thing
I really think he meant that. At first I was giving him the benefit of the doubt. But he did not know. Like you said, he’s such a Link. Lol 🤣😂
And I love that Rhett’s so used to it that he just rolls with it
I'm curious if he was being serious or not. In "The Breakup Song" he has a line that says something like "And unless it's in a Newton, I don't want a fig"
Completely possible he forgot though lol very much like him to do so
I honestly think he says these things to create comment algorithms like this. They know exactly what they’re doing.
14:35 Jason Segel was a perfect suprise to see but the fact that he was not the main topic of a special episode is a suprise by it self 😂
Seagulls are birds too, I guess?
Shoutout to GMM for being the sole customer for every single vintage unopened food product
There's another guy that also posts videos of opening old cans. So it's GMM and that one random guy lmao
LA Beast does it too
Hundreds of channels do this
There’s actually a mass amount of people who do this and collect/test taste vintage foods
Have you not watched Ashens?
Hearing Link say "good boy" as a completely intact, flaccid can of chili plops into the bowl was a wild ride 🥴
Your descriptions made reading this comment a wild ride 😂
12:36 I read this comment but I wasn't ready for HOW he said it 😳
That catch by link was underrated
I was just about to ask why more people aren't talking about it
He’s never had more coordination ever.
It felt like a Spider-Man moment when Peter is learning about his powers lol.
lmao he was feeling himself too with that grin
Here’s the timestamp 1:51
I have the hardest time watching these episodes as someone who works in food safety😂
Also, never eat from a can that is rusty or puffed. Seriously.
@@shannonw3607why not rusty?
@@man_imbored171 i think that means that the metal chemicals and stuff are going into the food and thats probably not that healthy

I love how Stevie said “tongue that ring” and no one reacted 😂
Because it wasn't funny in any way
Lol, that was great!

The flash of naked Link in an egg will forever live in my nightmares 😂

A can of Stag chili is $3.99 at my Walmart in Nova Scotia. :(
I can remember buying Wolf chili 2/$1 in the 90's - with or without beans.. sometimes it would go on sale 3/$1.
Rhett: i dont find this that unpleasant

Jason Segel's mild disappointment when the chickens were called special guests was amazing. So glad the Rhett and Link channel is doing more stuff!

This episode reminded me of the chaos of the older episodes when they were nearly puking all the time and I'm here for it LOL. 😂😂😂
The term "fig" originally meant almost any dried fruit. "Figgy" pudding (UK Christmas pudding today) generally has raisin, not figs.
And it's barely edible even today
False
@@brucebonner3491 How so?
@@paulherman5822 don't mind them, they just go around randomly saying that and being contrarian in the comment section for some reason
Same with “plum” pudding. Those tended to also be either raisins or currants.
