Best season hands down. Love the conversations. Definitely my vibe. I love deep convos. I have a 9yr old and I'm just so happy that I'm a parent in a time that such convos are being heard on this level of platform. Almost shed a few tears on some of the sub topics

Family love - Not telling each other that we love each other after a certain age. No matter how old our children are we are saying it , it ends with us.
Sleeping - Drilling into kids that if you don't wake up really early it equates to laziness. it ends with us (rest is also important)
Hobbies - Not holding space for open conversation if a hobby is money demanding it ends with us
Partner - They don't have to fit in our traditional box so many people damage relationships with their kids ati because they want to get married to a person who goes to a different church ama different tribes NO Please our relationship with our kids is far much important. it ends with us
Emotions - for our boys *boys don't cry Oh this ends with us.
Business - If there is a family business they will be include the not talking about it definitely ends with us and it doesn't have to be that they take it up but just know this is our source.
Weddings - Weddings lazima ikue Saturday 🤣🤣 this ends with us but every other traditional thing we are carrying forward.
Work - white colour job is the end goal and the bar for success 😅 this definitely ends with us
Health - 😂😂 this was not important when growing up no conversation was had unless we actually fell sick so let's be intentional to talk about health all round it ends with us
Romantic love - will have to put more thought on this . more on how we approach sex before marriage
Reading - I agree the lack thereof
friendship - personally my parents really dictated my friends this ends with me I'll trust the kids I've raised to pick good friends
Family - dropping family when they do something wrong and not talking to them this ends with us even when they fail we are in this together
This was an amazing episode thank you BNW

I'm with Ben about the process of Wedding. It's important because; unlike how people have made it to look nowadays, the glam(which is not bad), the monetization (which is unfortunate), etc... It is/was intended to be a friendship/relationship building between the 2 families. Also, respect is earned in the longrun.
Maybe what should end with us is using those terms of "being bought/going to buy", makes it sound like a commodity. 😃
As always, loving and enjoying the topics.❤

Ben and Wanjiru it's wholesome to hear you discuss and want the best for Tawa.I see so much of me when my baby was your son's age now older and gentle parenting is working for sure even though disciplining will do a number on you,,, interacting with other children brought up in different dynamics especially at school and sometimes home will challenge you but keep pushing. The internet too RUclips kids side ain't what you would like especially if you're Christian based now that they have put the Alphabet agenda on everything so you have to be careful on it... all the best fellow parents we can do this!❤

    Hi Ben & Wanjiru,
Thanks for your great job podcasting and for the topic today.
On the emotions bit and what ends with us, I’m also a mum to 3 boys and whereas I’m more for boys/men being more open with their emotions, my current struggle is where the balance is with showing emotions and feminizing our boys/men. There should be a safe space for the male gender to express themselves (the current trope of many angry men clearly shows this need) but there’s also a growing number of men who have let go of their masculinity. Sasa hapo kwa the right balance ndio kizungumkuti

With discipline, My take is, there is a blend between chapa and talking. Parenting is work laid more on the parent than the child. You really have to heal a lot of things in yourself before you pass them on to the child.
That's why this topic is AMAZING.
I do not believe love needs to be tough and truth needs to be brutal. Just love them .
God loves us perfectly and fully and His correction can be painful (chapa in the case of a child) and come let's reason together. It is all love.

Considering you appreciate your parents' relationship, what makes you think that open expression of emotions has anything to do with anything. Does expression mean that your relationship is unbreakable or is it solid for a specific period. Then what does it matter what your child sees with you if it doesn't mount to anything.

Children do what the see not what they hear. Yaani like yearly medical checks, healthy living, they have to see you doing it. Telling them not to eat junk or go for check ups won't amount to much.
They'll walk your walk not your talk.
