    I never comment, but just have to say that I like the way you explain not only why you do things, but also why you DON'T do other things. I've watched pretty much all of Patrick Adair Designs, Zebrano Wood Craft, and Tempest Rings videos and while I enjoy them very much, they don't usually explain certain things for the newbie. I made my first bentwood ring last weekend and have 8 more half way done that I'm finishing next weekend. One suggestion, if you can make the microphone not make a loud noise when you turn it off, that would be a nice improvement to the video making process...but don't ask me how. I don't make videos either. Found you from Tempest Rings, so give him props. I like the rings on your website. Reasonable prices too! Looking forward to your next videos.

      Clay Dennert thank you sir! That is great to hear! I noticed the microphone problem when I uploaded as well, definitely will fix that for a future video. And tempest rings is much bigger, it is nice to know that is where you found me. 😀👍

    Great first video! Nice work on the ring. I noticed you seem to have a little bit of issue with your scraper while turning the ring... unless you have a different grind on your tool you should turn it over - there should be a wire edge on the flip side that will cut better.

      Ah thanks mike! Yeah I don't know much about the tools with the lathe :D I will try this out!

    Where can I find that mandrel you're using? One of the best videos I've seen.

    • @DreamwoodRings
      @DreamwoodRings  4 года назад +1

      You can search for this specific mandrel from www.bangleguy.com/bangle_supplies.html
      I have also ordered mandrels from Ringsupplies. Thank you for watching and the nice comment! :)

    Very nice! Roughly how many rings could you do with a gram of opal? Thanks.

    • @DreamwoodRings
      @DreamwoodRings  5 лет назад

      You can usually do 2 rings possibly 3 if the inlays are smaller.

    Nice work! This helped me a lot.. I think my wood wasn't drying completely so my glue was turning white. Is that what you meant? Also what lathe do you have?

    • @DreamwoodRings
      @DreamwoodRings  4 года назад +1

      Yes exactly! It will turn white and won't work as well. Thanks for the watch! I am using the harbor freight mini wood lathe.

      @@DreamwoodRings Wow thank you for such a fast response! I'm always trying to figure out what lathes people use for these rings. I read so many bad reviews of the various models out there. Are you happy with the HF? I'm also looking at the Wen on amazon

    • @DreamwoodRings
      @DreamwoodRings  4 года назад

      @@RS-ec5bx yeah it has been a great lathe to learn on...it definitely has its issues now after about 2 years, but I'm still able to make quality products with it. You I think that wen lathe probably has all the same specs.
