    I bought this chainsaw and used angle grinder to grind away the tips of pins holding the protector in place. Then you can get them out, but not without some effort. Be careful not to damage the sword. Nice saw, the only objection I have is slow speed of the chain, which makes it a bit jumpy and less optimal for small branches.

    Hi Mate just bought the same chainsaw but wanted to ask if yours came with a tip protector attached on the tip ?? I cant see a way where i can get it off other than cutting through the rivets ?? Is this what you have done ??

    Good review, you gave us lots of details user opinions. Your right sometimes it's nice to slow down work and work steady, quietly without fumes.
    Wondering if there's any mods for the larger amp hour battery. what chain are you using? Are there any main brand bars that would fit it?

      It can take a 6ah battery which would be awesome. The chain is standard so not sure what the spec is unfortunately. Installing a larger bar and chain could make things more interesting. One thing i didnt mention in the video is on occasions when cutting 20cm diameter wood when you come to the 2nd cut the saw can stop working, It's basically down to the battery getting too hot and the bms cutting the power. Only did it a few times and you can get round it with a second battery swap while the other cools down. Thanks for the comment👍😎

    Thanks for the video, can you give more details about the battery? How long it lasts after you need to charge it again?
    I need to deal with a lot big brushes and small trees

      I only have 2x 2.5amp batteries and it's hard to say how long it lasts as it depends on diameter of branches and also if its hard or soft wood. For small trees and shrubs you should loads of cuts. If you move to larger diameter trees you wont get many cuts. I may upgrqde to the larger 6ah battery as that would be awesome but costs £130 on ebay.

    I too want to know whether (and if so, how) you've removed the tip protector. Nice vid, BTW.

      Just drill the rivets off but be careful.

      Can't remember exact chain but a quick search on ebay throws up a picture of the chainsaw and a spare chain. I searched 'Bosch 18v chainsaw chain'👍

    • @fiveminuteman
      @fiveminuteman  5 месяцев назад +1

      Can't remember off the top of my head, have a Google to see what is recommended. My sharpening is so bad i normally replace the chain.

    Hi ya mate great video I’m looking into getting this , will it take a larger battery if I purchased one separately and would it do 10 inch logs would you say ? 👍🏻

    • @fiveminuteman
      @fiveminuteman  2 года назад +1

      Probably do 10 inch logs, but battery runtime would be less. Mine is still going, but could do with bigger capacity batteries.👍

      @@mattredford6642 It was weird one night i left my drill out and a metal drill bit beside the chainsaw and in the morning the drill had moved! The nose cone was laying on the bench beside the drill. Looks like it had just fallen off.😉
