@@PaperMoonWasHere now that you've said that, you're right. the "phantom walk" can trigger low trap wires and possible trigger sound cue of the cage. tp might not trigger cages, trapwires, and it can also counter cypher's ult(like omen's tp, teleporting after being revealed can confuse cypher), and the flash can well flash the camera.

I think it’s cause he counters Cypher in a way by being able to sneakily teleport past his trip mines or potentially tripping them on purpose if they’re placed low enough

Yoru has come a long way. Some people doubted his space in the meta and I for two was skeptical but played him nevertheless because he was so fun. Now a year and a half later Yoru has risen to an A-tier and maybe even S-tier Agent if you know how to play him. And some pro teams cannot even win maps like Bind without him (I am looking at you Paper Rex!).
