One thing I miss about For Glory is being able to embarrass people when they taunt against me when using a character I don’t know how to use. It’s like “alright bro stay right there”. & I mained Zelda in Smash 4 so it was extra embarrassing.

To add onto this, I'm learning b0xx in ultimate just for fun, and it feels the exact same way when I switch back to gcc just to dust some rando's ass.
Stuff like this really makes me appreciate Ultimate a lot more because people really easily forget how balanced it is in comparison to past Smash games. Like yeah it's nowhere near perfect but every Smash game inevitably has something infamously janky within it, and even then you start to realise how said jank isn't even as prominent in Ult and at worst a character is a bit overpowered while not even making other characters unviable in competitive.

i would agree if fighter pass 2 didn't exist, those characters are overtuned as hell or just downright degenerate.
of course, smash4 was ALSO at a level of "balanced" before cloud/bayo, you had people actually topping with bowser and dk and shit.
then again, i've just become an HDR player at this point, that mod is so much damn fun.
@@thetimmon No, it was not. Smash4 was Extremely unbalanced on launch, extremely unbalanced after the Diddy nerf. And Ultimate fighter pass 2 BARELY even scratches how good Cloud and Bayo were. People may complain a shit ton about Pyra/Mythra and Steve but I've also seen people not even flinch when facing those characters. The only difference with the two games was that Rage was more prominent hence why people would top with DK and Bowser in 4 but upsets and people winning with non top tier picks? Happens way more often in Ultimate. We''ve seen Falco win a Major, we've seen people making it with: DK, Sora, Sheik, Sonic, DDD, Fox, Lil Mac, Diddy, DK, Pokemon Trainer, Yoshi, ZSS, Captain Falcon, Pichu, Ike.. And this is halfway through Ultimate's life. Smash 4 didn't have bowser until the end of it's life, DK wasn't really around until the Diddy nerf patch, Fox wasn't on the radar until Diddy was nerfed.
Let's like... not forget the start of Smash4 was a said flood of Diddy's, the end was the flood of Bayo's and Clouds and maybe a Fox or two. The balance of Ultimate is better even with Fighter pass 2 included.
HDR is definitely fun though. You are 100% right on that.
The floatiness, the slow movement, the knockback..I can't believe we played this. Turned it on the other day and it was nice to be able to changed character's. I'll always love Wii U for what it brought.

Idk but I liked being able to taunt opponents in for glory over dash dancing and teabagging.
To me taunting and dash dancing is fine. T bagging is when I think “yeah you’re a piece of shit”. I do not know why but it infuriates me way more.

I'll take dash dancing over teabagging any day because dash dancing actually requires skill to pull off. I can't do it without having to use my whole other hand on my left stick. Lol
But fr tho teabagging is really dumb. It's one thing to do it at the start of a match but when someone does it cuz they think they're hot shit...yeah.

As much as I love this game to death, I gotta ask. Was Sm4sh's knockback really that slow? I played this game a TON when I was a teenager, and I honestly don't remember it being that slow. There are so many times where it looks like you can survive a devastating attack because the trail disappears just before you hit the blast zone, but then a KO is scored. Am I the only one who finds that kinda strange?
It's the franchise-staple linear knockback. We called Ultimate's knockback "balloon knockback" for a reason.

The sad part about Smash 4 for WiiU is that people literally spent time to make username such as U_SUCK just to express how dumb they really are, just like how in ultimate one of the comment you can say at the victory screen is "Lucky!" Meaning that shows how salty you are when you lose, im convinced Sakurai knew how the smash community so he threw in content knowing people were dumb enough to fall for it.

I miss Smash 4 so much. Maybe I'm just trash or maybe Ultimate isn't a good game, but either way I don't enjoy playing it.
Smash 4 on the other hand I had so much fun with, nothing in Ultimate will ever beat Falcon dittos and making Bayonetta players ragequit with low tiers. I mean you can still do both of those things in Ultimate but they aren't as fun because Falcon is worse and Bayonetta isn't broken anymore.
I think falcon is extremely comparable tier list wise in ultimate to smash 4. He overs around A-B in both games

@@ilypo If you were reported enough times, you would essentially be put into a completely different list of opponents who were also reported, essentially a playlist of only reported players. Matches would be few and far between, the connection awful, and put you up against some of the most toxic MFers imaginable, hence "For Glory Hell". Naturally it was made to help keep the normal playlist cleaner, but it wasn't exactly uncommon for innocent people to be put in there for awhile just because some salty ass reported them after getting bodied.

The real Smash game. Man, I miss those days as a middle schooler just playing FOR GLORY. No final smashes, no platforms, no removed taunting (if people taunted, you could embarrass them), etc. Ultimate.. just has too many scrubs like all these smash balls online, it just carries scrubs. 3DS is gonna have players who want to play Smash on the go so will always have a half decent committed playerbase, I was part of it until 2020 when I got the Switch. Wii U nowadays is probably either kids who can't get a Switch, or people who want to abuse stuff on the game. I mean if you got a Wii U and not a Switch, that's already a problem.

This game is much better than ultimate mechanically. EXCEPT for how broken shield grabbing is
That was more so because Shielding was much stronger in 4. Not so much shield grabbing itself.. Since parrying was easier and you had to pull it up to parry and not drop it? you could shield and if you were early you were still shielding. You also didn't stale moves on shield hits so unless your name was cloud, you hitting the shield with most moves got you grabbed and barely any moves damaged shield that wasn't shield breaker, Wizard Foot, or Volcano kick. It was just that shielding was too good of an option so it made grabs more desirable at times and includes shield grabbing and it's mainly just that hitting shield in Ultimate actually is a possible option but also not one you'd always do.
