I remember that Nationals, Corey was a very good player in both Yugioh and Magic. The side duel between him and Patrick Hoban was very funny and entertaining. RIP Champ!🕊️
Spellbook of power was interesting this format. I think some people only played 2 during this formst because power caused the HANDS to miss timing. They can't activate their effects as a chainlink 2. I only ever played 2 because the ultimate rare is so sexy 🤤🤤🤤
Power doesn't cause the hands to miss timing. They can absolutely activate as cl2. Missing activation timing occurs when something else is still resolving when they meet their activation requirement. The easy example is if they are destroyed as cl2 then they will miss timing. If you Spellbook of Power and attack over the hand will just form a chain with power
@@gringoisdeadYes. Since the hands are a "when" effect they can miss timing when being destroyed isn't the last thing to happen. For example, if you activate mst to their summon and then chain torrential tribute, they will be destroyed by torrential and mst would resolve after the destruction causing the hand to miss timing. In the case of spellbook of power, it works like BLS and gets its effect during the damage step once it destroys the monster. It doesn't need to send to the graveyard to get this effect either. Since the hand is destroyed and then power gets its effect power will be the last thing to occur and cause the hand to miss timing. If power said destroy and send to the graveyard then both cards would be placed on the same chain and they would both get their effects but it doesn't need to send to the graveyard to get its effect. Its a little tricky and confusing but all you need to remember is hands miss timing if another action occurs after they are destroyed like my MST example or spellbook of power example.
@@nathandean8791 thanks for the explanation! Im going to start using Power to battle the hands Can you clarify another thing for me? When someone mst the spellbook tower, making it miss timing, do i still put a spellbook on the bottom of my deck? Is putting a spellbook on the bottom of my deck a cost? And does this effect target? For example, i try to put spellbook of secrets in the bottom of The deck while i have other spellbooks spell cards on my grave. Can my opp use dd crow to banish spellbook of The secrets and make me lose my draw with tower?
@gringoisdead Tower doesn't target so DD crow is useless against it. It also isn't a cost. Putting the book to the bottom of the deck is part of the effect so when they mst it to cause you to miss timing then the book remains in grave. Also if you're new to the deck then remember fate also doesn't target. When you activate it your opponent has to respond before you banish a card. So if they lance a monster assuming you were going to banish it then you just banish another card or if it's the book of moon effect then you flip another monster face down
The standard at this point is a 3-2 split. Which one you chose is up to you. I think right now I'm on 3 crescent/2 duality, but 3/3 gives you a lot of hands were you don't get to play half of it, and less than that gives consistency problems.
@@Midinette-bu2xq Frazier's list is 'I wanna lose to Artifact Traptrix decks' turbo honestly. You can't afford room for upstarts because you need to run stuff that beats artifacts otherwise they just blow up all your stuff. So i was exhausted during this game, which is why I botched the search, just kind of autopiloted. I was like 10 hours into 2 separate yugioh tournaments. This trend will continue into the next video.
Nah Nate was taking too many plays back that day. Also he searched it and immediately tried to activate it, he was done resolving his search. That's not sharking thats called misplaying.
i don't trust anyone that doesn't call spellbook magician of prophecy "blue boy"
🤣 this is true

Yup 👍 great player in two different games rip
I think the field spell ruling is the other way around idr
What do you mean?
@@LegacyRetroFormats that you can play two field spells still in this format
@@fx3391 in hat format there can only be one spell field active

The deck is consistent
You should be running both Crescent and Duality. You shouldn't have to choose between the two.

Upstart too

The correct ratio is 3 crescent and 1 duality
Any other combination is basically begging to brick
