Yes, I can believe that easily - it's a very detail project - I assume (and hope) that this is a "real" project such that you have something useful and concrete for yourself at the end of it. None-the-less, as a tutorial I am sure it will be well appreciated by your followers.
Yes, how to show that there is a bend position, so the person in the shop will know where to bend, and if there is a way to make assembly flat in sketchup that will be very helpful as well! Thanks.
Are you looking for a way to mark a line to show the bend position? Or are you looking for a way in SketchUp to show how a sheet of metal can be show as bent?
@@PatrickHoodDaniel I have modeled a parametric chair with sketchup and I flattened all the parts, just missing how to number the parts or write their reference number which is on they definitions with an automatic way (like Slicer do), thanks in advance.
@@gregorexan I haven't used sketchUp in a while and sketchUp has changed quite a bit since I made this video. I use Fusion360 or Inventor and part numbering and naming is pretty straight forward with those programs. I just don't know with SketchUp.
@@PatrickHoodDaniel You are totally right, I too have migrated to Maya, I think if we want to waste time to learn something we have to do it in a professional way, I have old Sketshup projects that I want to recovered them, for the moment I have just Slicer For Fusion 360, I'll take a look to Fusion360, Thanks for your advice.
Patrick, have a couple of questions on some resources. Know of any budget companies that do design templates for fun projects to do with the kids. I haven' t cut in years on my 3040 looking for some fun and easy files to get the family reingaged.
What was the method you mentioned to export the circles and arcs as true circles and not curves polyline segments? I can't seem to export true circles. Any advice? Thanks!
You used complicated way to extract the faces. You can put all components on rectangles and you do intersect with model. After that delete all components on rectangles. There is the same geometry like you had in your video. ;-)

Thanks. Took me about 1.5 weeks to get all of the footage and get it all edited.

Hi, some feedback if I may. The very fast Timelapse is disorientating with no benefit.
I was always wondering whether it was possible, thanks for showing that it is!
Thanks. Two more to upload on this series.
Part 3 tomorrow. It is rendering.
Great tutorial Patrick, very well put together.

Fantastic! Can't wait to see the other videos!
Thanks.
Thank you for this tutorial, nice explanation, just one question, can I add automatically objects definition for CNC work ?
I'm ot sure what you mean. Can you elaborate?

@@gregorexan Let me know how it goes.

Quick question, is it also possible to specify somehow in sketchup where the metal will be bent?

Can SketchUp be used to create production files for parts for mold-injection or is it not meant for that? Thank you!
so counterproductive !

good
like this
You can use ABF plugin it faster than this
Was that plugin available in 2013?
