Questions did you have to raise the engine a bit? And if you did where do you normally feel safe raising the engine? What point specifically. Sorry new to Mazda 3 and just trying to figure out what I’m getting into
@ColtonRichter So will I still be able to do this with the Rear CorkSport Motor Mount, On My 2007 Mazda 3 Sedan 2.0 Auto\Manual I can drive Automatic or I can switch into Manual Version Mode!
I dunno why I ask, have you written your name in yellow in the snow yet xD - when you were referring to certain tightness settings, I'm really of the opinion I need that tool... Torque wrench will give you that reading? And yeah my gears, feel like it's ribbed. It's not a smooth line. And it's something that's irking me the more I drive and has me wondering what I can do about it. But yeah, I'll order a rear mount when I order the exhaust later this week ;) Catback count down baby! And I guess the torque wrench, and floor jack and axle stands... Guess not recommended putting your rear on stands and letting the jack lift the front and wiggle under? Not a fat guy, but I am 190cm and the natural frame that goes with it. Pretty sure I could turn my head and be ok albeit with shit in my pants if the car suddenly dropped. But yeah, crunch time for a few things over the next 10days, keen AF!
Instead of it being a smooth |-|-| pattern, it feels well, not serated but that the pattern edges have been worn to have some bumpiness / ribbed almost on its edges.
Hello. I have a 2010 Mazda 3 S 2.5L mated to a 2002-2008 Mazda 6 transmission that utilizes the dog bone rear strut torque mount but the part that attaches to the subframe bracing is for a non-dogbone mount since it's a 2010 Mazda 3, is there anyway to securely fasten the two connecting points together? The strut torque mount that is designed for a Mazda 3 (non dog bone) transmission cant be attached. Any input would be greatly appreciated as the transmission is jerking when driving.
@@ColtonRichter Thanks for the input, I just recently purchased the car and was not aware of this configuration. I'll have to look into custom making a mount.
Hey what's up cole! I have a question for you. I've have a mazda 3 s hatch manual and I wanted to know what would cause like a rattling almost when shifting. It gets louder through higher rpms I figured it has to be the clutch going but do you think the flywheel is bad too? I was told a jb clutch was put in when I bought the car from a DEALERSHIP and a month in it's making that God awful noise. Any help you could give me I would appreciate it. Love your videos man and glad you're a mazda guru 🙏
I couldn't particularly tell you, never had experiences with rattling through shifts... They may not have machined the flywheel, but I doubt that would make a rattle noise...
@@ColtonRichterthanks for getting back to me man I appreciate it! It could just me being dumb and not able to explain it right? It almost sounds as if like a piece of metal is hitting something? Like grazing it if that helps? I'm going to do my clutch myself and I wanted to see if I should just get the flywheel too? My clutch is always to the floor when it's cold as well so Idk if that means something? Sorry to ask you so many questions but you're the only person I follow who has my type of mazda and not a speed 😩 lol
Might be a throwout bearing, i'm not to familiar with sounds from the transmission or clutch. If you do it, make sure you change out your throwout, pilot etc, get the flywheel machined if you keep it
I've been having the same problem I'd get your axles inspected my axle seal is broken so its causing a rattling when I accelerate or shift also test your motor mounts that could cause a problem aswell hope this helps
@@abandonedontarioshorts4540 thanks man! I appreciate the advice I did change one of the axles due to the boot ripping off of it but I didn't do the passenger side so I'll give that a go! Also definitely need to look into a new transmission mount and rear motor mount. the passenger and driver side look good so far
Love these videos man keep them up
Appreciate you 🤘
I'm actually working on my motor mounts for my 08 I also blew my trans bearing on the passenger side so I have to fix that too
Damn that's an odd occurence
Getting mine changed soon thanks G
Thanks man this video helped me a lot 👍 I watch all your videos always great content

Normally you don't need to but using a 2x4 or a little bigger on the oil pan works if you're safe

Never be under your car with a jack stand supporting it, i've heard stories first hand on bad things. Take a second to be safe
Easily the best way to make the car feel more planted
So good

My only suggestion is to make up your own mount by weld, not sure what the idea was of having a 6 transmission installed in a 3 platform?

Did replacing the motor mount fix or help with the third gear grind
noooo
@@ColtonRichter did you ever fix/figure out the 3rd gear grind I also have a Mazda 3 that has a slight grind in 3rd when shifting fast

does the motor mount affect how the car shifts?
Correct, it'll be a lot smoother!
@@ColtonRichter oh sick ok thanks :)
I can use the same one in my ST!
We're all the same in some ways ❤
Where did you get it?
Do you have the link to the part?
No, seems to be custom made.
Hi 👋
Can you make your own solid engine mounts?
If you know how to do metal push and having a bushing press, i'm sure!
