Well, all I can say is, that for those of us who are not fluent in photoshop, I think I can use these basic techniques to edit my portrait photos. I'm just starting out so don't listen to what some people say, for some of us, this was very helpful. Mahalo!
There are a lot of really good tips here. It's interesting to see your different ways of going about the retouching. Things I've never thought of and much quicker than my methods!
Hun this video is old I use this now...www.etsy.com/listing/907757653/background-smoothing-photoshop-action I dont remember is this is the exact one but its so much easier and better
They are different...it's like a plug-in and you can mix all the different effects in different capacities check them out Google rad lab... They don't offer this particular plug in anymore but the new plug-in is the same
I seem to be missing a step or something. I am not familiar with photoshop, I am doing everything you are saying but once I select the clone stamp it wont let me do anything. Says "Could not use clone stamp because the area has not been defined? What does that mean?
I'm sure there are videos on RUclips that teach you how to clone but pressing alt is where you are going to clone from and you want to make sure that you are calling from different sections as you go
TS Fetzko yes...each section has a different feather...so one section could have a selection where you would feather 5 pixela and another where you would feather 1 ...it's best to work section by section for the best result
Joe Ayres: Musician I don't think a gaussian blur would be enough to really remove the wrinkles...but possibly. It would still take quite a bit of work to mask off certain areas at a time. If you want it to look really clean and natural. If you give it a shot and it looks good let me know so I can give it a shot
Selina campbell hi hun...the program is photoshop you can get photoshop through Adobe photoshop. I think they have a monthly subscription now for pretty cheap.
Square Eye Photography no i mean it works, but its not working out how yours looks haha mine looks like its placing boxes of what i copied rather than smooth
@@dayswithdax__ airbrush has to be at its softest...you need to choose ethe softest be sh from your brush settings and put it at its softest setting...and then clone at no more than 35 percent opacity

@@squareeyephoto I love children, American born and also passionate about photography. My gut instinct is it's not right. Just a little 2 foot by 2 foot sheet. Also makes the baby looked cared after. Or get at baby level and shoot from degrees or both.
Dont be telling other photographers how to run thier busniess and how to do thier art. Obviously thier clients love her photos and her style so take your negativity elsewhere.
Mark Rios I've seen my share of videos and I've done my share of photography education. This is not a paid video, it's free. so if you don't like it move on. No need to spread negative feedback if you don't offer back anything positive.

Are you in lightroom or photoshop ?
Hun this video is old I use this now...www.etsy.com/listing/907757653/background-smoothing-photoshop-action I dont remember is this is the exact one but its so much easier and better
Great video. Enjoying watching! I have just learned about actions....your radio lab filters look.a lot easier..how are they the same or different
They are different...it's like a plug-in and you can mix all the different effects in different capacities check them out Google rad lab... They don't offer this particular plug in anymore but the new plug-in is the same
I found using jersey backdrop material on a backdrop frame is great for not having wrinkles. Cuta post editing time by alot :)
Agreed I stretch all of my knits on a frame now and that has really helped....nothing is perfect but it helps
Again, many thanks for sharing. I have a new Granddaughter and do not wish to spoil any photos by over editing.
Absolutely make sure to comment let me know how everything turned out
I seem to be missing a step or something. I am not familiar with photoshop, I am doing everything you are saying but once I select the clone stamp it wont let me do anything. Says "Could not use clone stamp because the area has not been defined? What does that mean?
You need to define what area you're going to clone from by pressing the alt button
By pressing alt on the keyboard
I'm sure there are videos on RUclips that teach you how to clone but pressing alt is where you are going to clone from and you want to make sure that you are calling from different sections as you go
Thanks for sharing. Not clear on the reason for making the selections. Does that exclude areas from the cloning effect?
TS Fetzko yes...each section has a different feather...so one section could have a selection where you would feather 5 pixela and another where you would feather 1 ...it's best to work section by section for the best result
TS Fetzko thank you .I'm glaf
Could you do a similar thing, when removing the wrinkle, with a gaussian blur and a layer mask?
Joe Ayres: Musician I don't think a gaussian blur would be enough to really remove the wrinkles...but possibly. It would still take quite a bit of work to mask off certain areas at a time. If you want it to look really clean and natural. If you give it a shot and it looks good let me know so I can give it a shot

This used to work for me but now when I do this it still clones parts of baby as if there is no line/selection. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Are you pressing the alt button to set a selection before you start cloning
Great video. So helpful!! Thank you!
Jon Warr thanks for watching and commenting I really appreciate it

I don't know how you shoot newborn photos they are such a pain in the butt
gonzalo heredia lol..yeah they can be hahahha
I don't agree with showing baby bottom. Should be a level of respect for the baby.
Most of my client LOVE baby bottoms

@ if my clients wanted for their baby than I do what they want if my clients don't like it and some don't then we cover the baby

Useless.
Mark Rios I think this video may not have been the best of the best but it was pretty informative :)
Yaneck WASIO OK, but I would say you may need to view more videos. This one is weak by all standards. Sorry.
Mark Rios I've seen my share of videos and I've done my share of photography education. This is not a paid video, it's free. so if you don't like it move on. No need to spread negative feedback if you don't offer back anything positive.
Yaneck WASIO If someone uploads a free math video but they teach 2+2= 5 should we not say something? Or is it okay being free and all?
Mark Rios you didn't say that anything was wrong... you just made a subjective and opinionated negative statement. Move on... cheers
