The gauge cluster is no problem for me. I’m 6’2” and have perfect positioning to see it. As you know, it was to be steer by wire setup with a pilot wheel.
We were looking to buy a vehicle . Looking foe a sienna which proved impossible to get . We stopped by a couple Toyota dealerships and if you put in a request for one the are adding a $5000 up charge . Told them to take a hike and do not ever call me . Ford was the worst of them all so I will never step foot on a ford dealership again.. We found a couple Toyota dealerships not adding anything extra to the price so i gave them my number to call me . They will get my business . Now we did not end up being able to get a sienna . Ended up with a different brand vehicle . Who told us they do not mark up the vehicle price . Well i found an added line that adds $3000 and they could not explain well what the $3000 was for . Gave me the run around about it . I told them from the beginning not to play games with me and they tried anyway . I turned to walk out and suddenly the $3000 extra in the price disappeared . My in-laws went to buy a vehicle a few months back . The always take me as i know every con a dealership will try and pull . Sure enough right away , they tried telling them there payment would be a certain amount a month . I did the math on my calculator (should have seen the salesman face when i did that) it came to 12% interest rate . I asked him what interest rate they came up with . He refused to tell me . Literally refused . …. So this con man said, let me see again what i can do . He came back with a much different number . Came to around 4% which at the time was still to high ,not much, but still to high. My Inlaw has immaculate credit . Just under 800 . I told him he could get lost and we walked out . I told them they need to get there own financing and they did at a lower rate even more then the dealership claimed . They bought there vehicle somewhere else . I Absolutely hate the dealership experience . Dealership favorite question . What payment are you comfortable with ? 1-do your homework before going to a dealership 2-get financing outside of the dealership (credit union a good choice) know all the numbers before you go 3-do not buy any extras. You a get extra coverage such as gap insurance with your banking institution . Lower rate and no interest . I had one dealership try lying saying you could only get it through them . I literally called 3 banks on speakerphone all saying they had it available . I walked out . Dealerships need to get rid of salesman . Purchasing a vehicle should work as it does with Tesla .(the best buying experience ). No bogus dealership fees . No hidden lines of extras . Now,I’m not interested in buying a tesla but they have the best purchasing method by far .
@@solargoomba I live in NC. A lot of people here hate EV's, but not hybrids. At least ones made by Toyota. The Prius has been around for a few decades now, has proven reliability. Unlike EV's that seem anything but reliable.
The solution is that everybody has their preference and choose whatever they like. People will go for Prius because it’s smaller than Camry and people love hatch. People go for Corolla cuz they don’t care about car design and afford within their pay range, People go for Camry because they want comfort, good turn radius, and somewhat feel luxurious while cruising on Camry. Best part, they’re all hybrids!!!. I just dislike comments like these which states out problems with specifics that does not have problems to begin with. Toyota does need to change design for Corolla though cuz Corolla is an ugly version of combo of Prius and Camry. I also like the idea of Prius prime limited trim having a gauge cluster cuz tall mfs like me can genuinely find them useful. So cars don’t have to lose a feature just for the sake of uniqueness. A car is a luxury that an individual invest in. The more the car can give a potential, better it is.
The Prius is much faster and has more power than the Corolla. Is like they made the Prius the maximum expression of what a hybrid can do, the 'master' of hybrids.
I don't know why everyone says the older Prius' are slow! I have my new 2024, but I also have a 2012. If I push the power button on the 2012, it is a lot quicker than you realize! Yes, the 2024 is quicker, but the 2012 ain't slow ... with the power button pressed! Just sayin'...
One thing very few people talk about in there reviews is, no back wiper. I need to see how this does on dirty slush or rain hwy. this is the exact color/trim pkg I am looking to get. so thanks for making this vid. :)
@@meatl0ad I did, in fact, take a look at the Grand Highlander. Real nice, very well build quality. But difficult to drive because the adjustable steering wheel is still just too tight and pressing on my legs, hampering my feet especially when trying to eat on the go. One should have the freedom and ability to eat and drive comfortably at the same time. Remember, ‘if you can’t place your feet, you can’t not eat.’ And if you can’t eat, y that’s not neat.
I have had one of these for about a yr. I still hardly see any on the road. So rare is in that I’m wondering if I can sell it for what I bought it. We paid about 38,000. The car is gorgeous but it is much lower to the grown, is much tighter inside and has lost tons of trunk space over the last generation

Just pay 4k over MSRP plus whatever else they want to add on. XLE and Limited aren't worth getting reduced mileage either. That's the whole point of the Prius.
Price mentioned here is an utter lie. Local Toyota dealer advertises this Prius version with TSRP of more than 35k. If lucky you'll find it at 34k. Thats the average cost. Nowhere near the 31k mentioned here.
Soft-tech is the way to go, since its more durable than leather. No cows are killed to make those seats. I like this car a lot, especially the XLE version.

64MPG on a 2023 Prius? You either drive really slow and coast like there is no tomorrow. Hell I can get 50MPG on my Lexus ES350 going 70MPH purely downhill only.
My local Toyota dealer has zero stock of ANY new Hybrid models. Anything coming in is already allocated and therefore cannot be test driven. They are essentially suggesting I buy one without ever driving it first. The whole situation has kind of turned me off to the brand. It makes me feel like they are some exclusive product that I am just not cool enough to purchase.
I think we can credit Tesla for making car companies step up their game of turning practical gas saving cars into something fun to drive and not be ashamed of owning. That's coming from a guy that's not impressed with EVs or the megalomaniac Musk.
I like Elon Musk and what he's done with Tesla, but I still agree with you. I just hope the 'practicality' of cars via physical buttons doesn't diminish, due to Tesla' success.
The XLE model has the ridiculous, large 19 inch wheels and tires. The LE model is the only one I would consider......even it's 17 inchers are too big for my taste. Anyway, as a hypermiler, I can get 80 MPG out of this car, and I care nothing about acceleration or fancy convenience features.
Actually the Prius is more fun to drive, especially on curvy roads. Straight line yeah a tesla is fast. But it’s heavy, feels more like a boat in a turn. I own a 2023 Prius. I was using a model 3 as a rental while my Prius was at the body shop for 3 weeks. The Tesla is a good vehicle, but once you get passed the one truck pony of EV acceleration it’s not the best for more spirited driving beyond a straight line.

Pretty much. Maybe the XLE weights a bit more but the vast majority of that loss is from the wheels both the weight and aero.
The XLE wheels are 19" and the LE wheels are 17"

Looks fantastic however is small on another level. I'm 5'11" and banged my head on the roof frame the first time I attempted to have a seat.
2025 Camry maybe cost around $35k but more space. Prius looks good and great on mpg but I think consumers rather pick the Camry over Prius.
And the Camry gets a spare tire.
Can we go back to smaller wheels with more sidewall? Those wheels are not potholes friendly.

My 2014 one has lasted ten years.
10-15 years. Each generation has had long lasting batteries. 4-6K to have them replaced. 3K if you do it yourself.
You know 57 miles per gallon divided by 12.38333 kwh is 4.6 miles per kwh, most Tesla's can do that.

Simple solution, save and pay cash in full. I just wrote a $52k check recently on my wife 2024 Lexus NX350h.
