There's a lot of electronic music artists, old and new who compose and play at the same time, without sequencers etc. (Vangelis comes quickly to mind, Hans Zimmer also, I'm sure there are a lot more). The main problems with synchronously composing, performing and recording quality electronic music live and on the spot without sequencers are: a) you need serious cash to develop custom machines that allow you to do that the way you want. Vangelis has said that it would be impossible for him to reach that level without having been successful already due to the sheer costs, as opposed to an artist who plays an instrument or sings b) you need serious brains to compose something coherent on like 5 different instruments at the same time, while at the same time you're playing it and I mean serious brains. And I don't mean to diminish any musician or artist by (b). Anyone can do what they want and that's fine. Who cares if they record, or if they sequence? Don't listen to anyone, especially musical 'purists'. If you enjoy it it's fine. If you don't, listen to something else and that's fine too. Do you know that the primary use of tape loop effects before the late 60's was in the classical (yes, classical) music industry? Just listen to what you like. I hate artists like Carl Davis who say 'that's not art', or 'yeah but these are electronic sounds' and so on, and I'm not even an electronic music fan, and what you say is not very different from them. They are so shortsighted and narrow-minded that I can't help but feel sorry for them. Press play DJ's are fine too, who are you (or me) to judge. In the 50's they were saying the same for those ye-ye boys and telling your parents you wanted to do a career as a singer equalled telling them you want to be a whore.

Got the same experience, just stumbled over him at youtube today, and after 2 Hours i was still listening and searching for more. Jean Michell Jarre has a competition here. Thing if they could meet each other and make something, when the correct people meets, then magic is happening. I really love his passion GREAT WORK.
this is the kind of electro music i like, the one you actually play live, not the one you press the space bar on the laptop, you are amazing, i'm listening your discography on spotify and i find your music incredible, keep it up! greetings from Chile
Device Factor i mean, it's ok to use new technologies and innovate (Jean Michel Jarre did it, it's fair to play in new synths instead those big old fragile and difficult-to-move synths) and use new programs, but play in a concert, and barelly touch some buttons and stuff, or sing on playback tracks, i don't know, seems less realistic you know? (in the digital way to play music obviously)
Sebastian Donaire agreed. I would prefer to play live with vintage Synths.so I would learn each one that I use, it's own advantage and disadvantage, then go from there. that's just me though. if it's older analog, temp is a factor but I could work around that. just simple maintenance (at least to me) but you're right. albeit new or older synth, at least play it. I love kraftwerk but seeing them stand before a laptop... Yeah.no bueno. well, at least Kebu and Survive keep it old school.
Device Factor That's amazing! I love vintage electro music (I'm a most prog-modern metal Fan/ music player, but I love the music that is not easy to compose or play) and their constant journey to learn how a instrument works and experiment new forms to play music with that instrument (like Kraftwerk, and many others) and new musicians, with the new retrowave music, bringing to life that's 80's music, when synths were getting more massive and more musicians start to (again) learn, experiment and play, that's the point, learn, find new ways to play an instrument, push the limits, and finally playing it, using samples, yeah, using pre-created songs, yeah, but always being creative, push the limits, and If you gonna play it live, don't be lazy to just hit "play" and jump arround, in that case, i preffer to heard the record and shut my eyes in the confort of my house. (i hope you understand my Chilean-broken English lol)
это круче.. смотреть до конца. ruclips.net/video/hyKI-Kn0YNQ/видео.html а тут хорошая музыка но однотипненько.. то ли дело было у цветкова в 90е и позже.

You DO realise quite a lot of this isn't done "live", right?
C'est magnifique ❤ Bravo
