On the amps where the Input jack is directly soldered on the PC board, this is Instant DOOM. Using a tough jack that's NOT soldered directly to the board is the way to go.
Need to find a guy like you near me to fix all my stupid little projects like this. Nice job. I tried this once on a Peavey Stereo Chorus 212 ss amp. I needed 5 hands to get the 2 stacked boards out to solder it back in and it still didnt work for me. No fun.
Some amps are a pain to get into... especially for cleaning the pots. the SWR I did recently was difficult. My shop is about 20min west of Cleveland, OH... way up north. I'm glad to help if you want to ship stuff.
Mine doesn’t work on clean.it needs to use the overdrive button to play.no button pusher and it gets zero sound,at all, not even a humming or buzz, like it’s off. Push the od and it plays
mine has the same fault but my jack does need a replacement. when you say a switchcraft jack do you mean of the same types used in a guitar or do they make a pcb mounted version
Sorting out physical rattles requires first that you find the source. You can put a strip of felt between the chassis, and the cabinet, or on the cabinet back.
"Flummoxed", a polite way to say "Auchgefickt".
Cattawampus? Fubar? lol!!
"I'm gonna guess someone tripped over their guitar cable..."
Yeah me. A million and one times. 😂

FYI, take out the screws on the upper sides of the amp and the whole baffle board comes out. Makes for a much easier speaker change.

Could be a switch or something on that preamp stage

You can buy the PCB version from AmplifiedParts.com That's the easiest way.
Do you know how to get rid of a rattle on a fender Frontman 25r?

What speaker is a good upgrade on this amp? Does it emprove drive?
A friend of mine really likes the eminence ragin cajon
@@DeadKoby interesting. Do you know if the Celestion G10 Greenback is good?
It's not bad. Make sure you have enough wattage. Always go with a speaker 50% or higher on wattage. 25watt amp? 40w speaker or higher.
@@DeadKoby why is that? Even on a transistor amp do I need that?
The camera is awful but good job.
