Canada's better :p hahaha Just kidding! Love my American neighbours to the south. Been to cuba 3 times myself. Absolutely love it there. Some of the nicest people in the world.
I sometimes wonder what Joel thinks of all the petty squabbling, political unrest, infighting, and people squawking about having to get shots and wear masks for the sake of public safety and individual responsibility to others. While they go on and on about their Constitutional freedoms (to infect and be infected?) being violated, I would imagine it must look ridiculous to him, since he knows what REAL government repression and human rights violations are truly about. We must look like spoiled, entitled children.
Maybe we could all then stop all the arguing and recognize what a great(but imperfect) place this is. Maybe then we could recognize that America is a "big tent' with room for everyone and their different ideas on how to be even better.
Nothing like a bark and a choke at the ballpark. Seriously this is my favorite video of the series. In my lifetime I have had my fair share of conversations with Cubans about baseball and it ain't no joke. Ball is life. To see a Cuban take in his first baseball game is magical. I got emotional watching it. And that's not an easy feat. I think I got emotional because I know how much it probably meant to him because of my experience with other Cubans. I recently took my 73-year-old father to his first San Francisco 49ers football game. He grew up in Monterey California and has for as long as there has been a San Francisco franchise, been a fan. Seeing him when he so I'll Levi's stadium for the first time, I saw that same look in this video......
He gets emotional everywhere he goes, cause while is amazing, surreal to him visiting all this places, he misses someone at home, and wishes he could share that moment with that person. I think he has a daughter back in Cuba, I believe. It has to be hard for him to be away, going to all this places and not share his happiness. I totally understand him, I got out my country, left behind my mother and sisters, which I didn’t see for 17 years!😢😭 Its hard to be happy when your other half is miles away.
Its really hard emotions. On one hand you're so happy and on the other you feel so guilty. And then there's this feeling of anger that a government took all of these opportunities away from you.

Socialism isn't the problem. Corruption is the problem. The irony of his statement is that Cuba isn't under a socialist system, nor has it in it's entire history. Conflating communism and socialism is a strange trait for citizens of the USA.
@@mikelafaille Your ignorance is beyond a comment! CUBA is COMMUNIST, what would you know, you have never lived it!!!!! Your comment on corruption is stupidity, giving the government control of everything is plain insanity and total loss of freedom!
@@rodrigoduran7481 "Beyond a comment," yet you still commented. Interesting. It's totally okay that you don't understand what a communist political system looks like, or what Cuba's actual political system actually is. I never said Cuba wasn't a communist country, in fact, I specifically mentioned that in my first reply. Being a unitary Marxist-Leninist state, the government controls everything as it is, and opposed to countries with standard socialist systems in play, where things are fine (such as Denmark or Norway). The problems Cuba faces are uniquely due to government overreach and the resulting corruption of their leaders, also observable in Venezuela and China, for example. An education beyond primary school would suit you well if you're going to attempt to throw out words like ignorance and stupidity, yet know nothing of the governments of which you speak. Try again, and come back with something beyond ad hominem.
Through Yoel's eyes we see America as it is....from a certain point of view. Not all Americans get to experience the beauty of our own country. That being said, it gives me goosebumps to watch this man's joy at the things we take for granted. Enjoy Yoel! America really is an amazing nation.
As a Dodgers fan for almost 50 years, and on behalf of my Dad who recently passed away who had been a Brooklyn Dodgers fan since 1929...MUCHAS GRACIAS for helping him experience the joy of being at that immortal stadium. 3rd oldest in the MLB now. And another Los Dojers fan for life now.

You both are such an inspiration. I just discovered your videos and am really enjoying them. I know that you understand the lyrics "O'er the land of the free..." when singing our National Anthem at the Dodger's game and raised your first. I knew that you understood the lyrics more than most. I lived in Cuba for about a month 40 years ago when my father worked at the US American Interest Section (the US embassy). I was able to see just a glimpse of what you lived through. God bless you and welcome to the United States
You have no idea how happy we were. it was SUCH a magical game. I have NEVER BEEN to a game so amazing in my life. 4 home runs, the crowd so wild and packed, it was INCREDIVLE!
I loved seeing the pure joy in Yoel’s face. What an incredible gift and memory for Yoel that many Americans may take for granted. My Dad worked at a Veteran’s Hospital and volunteered to take wheelchair patients to Mets and Yankees games when I was small. If I didn’t occasionally get carsick these memories would be perfect! Amazing!
There's a video called the "Star Spangled Banner as You've Never Heard It." I would love to see Yoel's reaction to that story. Love seeing the pure joy he takes in things many of us are so used to.
Loved it when Yoel was standing for the National Anthem, hand on his heart, and then raised his fist in the air during the phrase "Land of the free"! VIVA LIBERTAD!!!

Thanks for sharing, knowing how much Cubans love baseball for him to see a MLB game and how much he enjoyed it, really is special. Awesome! Also, indeed Cubans can play some baseball! Great players. My dad use to take me to a couple different major league ball parks every summer. Unfortunately he's no longer with us but I'm almost done checking them all off.
Your videos make me cry, however, tears of happiness. Canadian here, been to Cuba 5 times, loved it, and the people. But I knew what hardships they faced. Am so very happy for Yoel that he can finally experience the things he loves. Great video's, but still tearing up!

PRICELESS memories for Yoel! Mine: 1st game, cracking peanuts with my dad, watching the sun set from above third base, Vin Scully announcing the game on my a.m. radio, 1972, binoculars in hand…studying the players, the scoreboard and pretty much everything. Long line of cars leaving the parking lot, windows down…that’s still the same!
This was absolutely precious to see. I knew that Yoell would love a baseball ⚾ game. It is my hope and prayer that he is able to enjoy many more of them in America. I think that a whole lot of people in this country should look at the way Yoel reacted to the national anthem, and perhaps they would have some greater appreciation for this if they could see it through his eyes.

@@jeanieking2017 Looks like blindly parroting propaganda without knowing what you're talking about is also a strange trait of citizens of the USA.
Yoel, people like you just might save this country. I hope your videos are shared far and wide across this great land.
Yoel's reactions always make me cry. but in a good way!!! 😀
I know me too behind the camera.
his reaction to the line land of the free lets you know what we take for granted is a dream for the people who are not free
This was amazing to watch. We are so blessed here in the United States and take these things for granted. Baseball is a sport that brings so many cultures together and I’m super glad Yoel’s first game experience was during playoffs. Surely a night he’ll remember forever!
it was incredible game and it does bring everyone together. Sports and food is what the world can unite on!
@@YoelAndMari Wow! Way to go!! First-ever Major League experience was a playoff game. That’s really, really special. I even cried and the Dodgers and Braves make me cringe. But I sure love watching you guys celebrating freedom and the blessings of liberty.
This was pure joy. I felt the excitement and emotion and it made me feel the joy too. So happy Yoel got to experience a dream.
You have no idea how happy we were. it was SUCH a magical game. I have NEVER BEEN to a game so amazing in my life. 4 home runs, the crowd so wild and packed, it was INCREDIVLE!
Canada here.Know how you feel,my frozen adrenaline is now thawing out.
I love his appreciation and love for this country of ours. We need more Americans like him
This man makes me cry everytime. There's nothing like being in a giant crowd watching your favorite team.
Oh yeah That's a good one!
Loved it when Yoel was standing for the National Anthem, hand on his heart, and then raised his fist in the air during the phrase "Land of the free"! VIVA LIBERTAD!!!
The childlike enthusiasm is so infectious! And I love his instant recognition of where he was once he read the sign. I'm so happy for both of you!
He was SO surprised!! I actually told him we couldn't go because they wanted vaccination records we didn't have on us so he was so bummed. When I found out that we actually could go I decided to make it a surprise. He was SHOCKED!
l love you two...
The wonder, joy and love you have is the most beautiful thing i've seen in a long time.
Seeing your smiles and happiness gives us strength and hope in these trying times.
Thank you.
Man...every time I watch these videos, it reminds me of how often I take life for granted. Many of us have access to things other people will only dream of, yet we're unhappy, and feel entitled to more.
BIG THANKS to whoever gave these Dodger tickets to you two! Fantastic video!
It was a combo of patreon and a special donor!
His reaction was PRICELESS!!! Brought tears to my eyes.
I still love going into a big league park, I can imagine what it was like for Yoel
Good for You Mari,
you are such a beautiful sweetheart to Yoel. God bless you both. Larry.
Thank you Larry!!! That means a lot
You guys are great. I can't help but smile and be grateful when I watch your videos. The thing that amazes me the most is how thankful Yoel is and how amazing his heart is. Nothing but good intentions being sent your way.
His surprise and joy bring tears of joy to my own eyes. Tissue please. We've have had pro ball players in our family, and my mother was a sports reporter and the players of the L.A. Angels named her their mascot. So, we love baseball too. So happy for you both.
I just found your channel and am going on a slight video binge, and this has been my favorite so far! I am a massive baseball fan (Go Tigers!) and the fact that he got to see a playoff game makes it so much better. I went to the playoffs here in Detroit in 2012-Tigers vs Yankees-and it was sooooo much fun!
The joy on yoels face always makes me.cry and remind of the things we as Americans take for granted even the smallest of things this is why I love watching his reactions it humbled me back to earth
Your guys videos gives me soooo much perspective on hope lucky we are! It’s crazy how quickly I go from laughing an amazed too sadness an angry. The sadness is for how hard thing are for his family still in Cuba, and the anger is for all the dictators in the world!
I love watching him, appreciating everything this country has to offer.
Every one of your episodes makes me cry , brings such happiness to my heart to see yoel get to experience what so many Americans take for granted
I couldn't love Yoel's reactions more and he couldn't be luckier than to have you introducing him to so many things that, hopefully, become a normal part of his life as a man living in America. Love you both. Thank you, as always, for sharing your experiences. It reminds me, and I'm sure many others, to appreciate things we often take for granted.
God bless you, Yoel...may u become part of the American dream, and Go Dodgers...from a Tigers fan.
I grew up in Cleveland stadium so i really don't remember what so many of us take for granted - a first time watching a game. Glad you had a great time 💙
So excited and humbling to watch this! I loved watching his inner child come out! Him shouting and smiling and eating his hotdog!!! AMAZING!! Please keep posting more!
I’m loving his excitement! My nephew was drafted by the Dodgers in 2019, after pitching for the Miami Hurricanes…so we’re huge baseball fans. I hope y’all had a fantastic experience!
I can feel the complete joy from Yoel!!! God bless you both!!!
So happy for him. These experiences he will talk about his whole life.
To see Joel enjoying something we take for granted is awesome!
Thanks for sharing, knowing how much Cubans love baseball for him to see a MLB game and how much he enjoyed it, really is special. I have been going to Yankee games since I was very little (I remember watching Orlando Hernández
play after the Yankees got him when he escaped Cuba, amazing pitcher), to see Yoel experience this for the first time is truly magical
His dream is to go to the yankee game!
Great video's, but still tearing up!
watching this takes me back to 1974 and the first time i walked into Busch Stadium as an 8yr old kid! GO CARDINALS!! so glad he got to a game!! even if it was the Dodgers lol
What a lucky man Yoel is to have you, Mari for a wife. And Yoel is such a good man. A true patriot to both Cuba and America. This country is so lucky to have the both of you here with us. Dios los bendiga como siempre.
muchísimas gracias Bob.
This is truly incredible , I have tears in my eyes.
I'd forgotten how big baseball is in Cuba. Always great to see Yoel having a blast. We're happy to have you in the US!
I love that it takes a Cuban to really and truly understand what Land of the free means ❤️ His reactions are priceless!
I actually have happy tears for Joel! I'm so happy that he gets to experience the things he has dreamed of. I wish only the best for both of you!
Those are beautiful memories MC
This was absolutely precious to see. I knew that Yoell would love a baseball ⚾ game. It is my hope and prayer that he is able to enjoy many more of them in America. I think that a whole lot of people in this country should look at the way Yoel reacted to the national anthem, and perhaps they would have some greater appreciation for this if they could see it through his eyes.
He was soooooo happy.
@@YoelAndMari he sure seemed happy. I don't blame him!
Every time I watch your videos I cry. Thank you for sharing.
Dont cry!!! Thank you for watching and engaging with us,
How is this the most wholesome video I have ever seen?? It's actually beautiful. Much love from a Seattle Mariners fan!
Thank you so much Kristina!!!
I really enjoy seeing him react to everyday things that many of us Americans take for granted. It is inspiring to see him enjoy so many things that he has not had the chance to experience. I pray for change in Cuba.
Thank you for continuing to document so many of Yoel's firsts. It's so always a joy to watch the joy he is experiencing, and to see what so many of us take for granted. Love from Los Angeles =)
Glad you enjoy it!
Yoel's joy for life is infectious!! ❤️ We all need to appreciate what we have as much as Yoel does. So glad his dream came true. A big drink and a hot dog, watching a baseball game. 👍
I know, so cute he said that!
I've been going to baseball games my whole life and my reactions are still like his every time. Lol love the game so much. Great video. Go Braves!!! 😉
when you watch this you realize how blessed we are to be in America and how much we take for granted!
I’m so happy you held back to surprise Yoel. I felt like I was enjoying the game with you. 💜
Thank you so much!!! Yes when I found out we actually could go I made it a surprise
I love your videos. I love seeing the wonder, amazement and appreciativeness in his eyes everytime. Thank you for making us a part of all your firsts.
I love seeing you guys celebrate and embracing everything good about America. Land of the free, home of the braves.keep it up
I seriously cannot get enough of this channel! It makes me so proud to see anyone coming to America legally enjoying this beautiful nation and all she has to offer! To Yoel- you sir are the embodiment of what it means to be an American! Thank you to the both of you for all of your content. It is inspiring me to be a better person and appreciate everything that I have. Even after I worked in Brazil and experienced the extreme poverty that is the Brazilian favela's, I still came home unappreciative of the things I had in life, until this channel. Thank you for humbling me 🙏 Much love and respect to you both, and I will keep praying for the both of you. Bless you both for this content and I wish you both all the love and happiness you deserve!
Awesome, just awesome! ❤❤❤
Seeing this through Yoel's eyes makes me realize how very fortunate I was as a kid, because my father, who is also an immigrant, owned a restaurant very close to Fenway Park in Boston, and I got to go to games all the time. It is something I DEFINITELY took for granted! I love seeing your journey, it should be required viewing for every spoiled American like me! The perfect reminder of how blessed we truly are and what we are in danger of losing. God bless you!
It makes me so happy watching him enjoy all these moments!
Thank you so much Jontue for watching
I was really looking forward to this video and it didn’t disappoint.
Thank you!!
Watching yalls videos are like a game of thrones episode. So many emotions all at once. Yoel has given me a new found appreciation for my country . thank you.
