    Boasting a Long list of features, this grinder wants to contend to be your endgame grinder... does it meet your standards?
    This was a non paid review video. I have no intentions of keeping this grinder (either I will ship it back or do a giveaway) and no money was exchanged.

      I supposedly have a Timemore 64S shipping to me soon... Given this one is questionable regarding availability also, is there any advantage this has over the Timemore other than the scale built into the cup?

    • @EmileeBryant
      @EmileeBryant  6 месяцев назад

      @@thomprd I own both and I love the sculptor. Its a great and simple grinder. I would'nt say a scale and design is worth the extra 600 if you already have it on the way. That being said, there is a new version of this grinder from Gevi that seems to do even more (and I got an email form them saying most the things I don't like on this model, have been now fixed. its also 600 less than this grinder and is practically identical.

    So if you take all of its best features and add stepless adjustment where each indicated notch is 5μ (.5mm thread pitch), clear grind speed indicator, metal grind adjustment dial, nicer coated grind speed adjustment knob, faster response scale with a magnetically detachable dosing cup, and no annoying beep when it shuts off, you get the upcoming Gevi Grindmaster. I've been testing and providing feedback on it and it's shipping next month. Look for that review soon. And will be comparing it to the Zerno Z1 and Lagom P64 hopefully soon as well.

    Lol I live the floorbeans beans explanation. I got some of those too! My friend is testing the Gevi Grindmaster which seems like it's basically the same but they updated a few of the negatives you noted. I kinda liked the idea of the magnetic charger port but it would make it more difficult if a cat ruined the cable!

    The scale's delayed response to small amounts of additional weight is surprising, I get that from my el cheapo kitchen scale that is +/- 1g accurate, don't expect that from a coffee scale that should be +/- .1 g accurate.
    On a more general note, I watch grinder videos more out of curiosity than anything else, I bought fairly recently and not looking to upgrade anytime soon

  • @atavax311

    great video. I think one thing that reviewers often don't mention with grinders that is important for some home users is the noise. It does seem to kind of nicely fit between the Timemore sculptor and the Zerno z1. I think if it was stepless, it would be a 8/10. $1,000 for a stepped grinder is a bit meh.

  • @myiagros3744
    @myiagros3744 6 месяцев назад +3

    Great video production as always Emilee!
    For 2.5-3x the cost of the 064s it needs more than being easy to open, and a scale integrated into the catch cup.
    How does the coffee compare?

    • @EmileeBryant
      @EmileeBryant  6 месяцев назад +1

      I feel exactly the same as you. It’s great but there is a competitive market currently (also there is the other version of this grinder from gevi that’s around $400)
      I do briefly mention it in the video but it’s basically the same as the 64 s burrs from timemore.

      The effort you put into the opening scene really is amazing. I've tinkered around shooting coverage for a few videos, and the ratio of hours invested for seconds of final output is daunting. I wish I could forward a link to Sergio Leone since he'd surely love to see it, but for some strange reason I don't have any url addresses to the afterlife.

  • @BensCoffeeRants

    A lot of scales are like that where they have a set 0 point sensitivity basically, it's a thing to prevent the 0 point from floating. It SEEEMS bad if you have to put in 20 beans before it shows 2g (good that it at least seems like it eventually updates and shows the weigh accurately though) however, how often are you really going to be weighing just 10 to 20 floor beans. A more realistic test which I think it would be better at, is let's say you have 17.5g in there and you want to add 0.5g to get it up to 18g I think it would do fine at that test, because I've played with other scales that acted similarly. So if it does THAT fine, it's not really a problem unless you're often weighing 1-2g of things and most people even for small pour overs or single espresso shots are going to be using more coffee than that!

    that intro was worth every second it took you for sure.
    i think the grinder is super clean and a great size.
    i learned a bit about making scales act how you like them with attaching one to gaggiuino software.
    the scale shouldn't be sold with this grinder because it will just make people sad. but i imagine that they have spent too much on making the built in scale thing happen to let it go now lol
    fab vid, actually like this grinder, but it is way overpriced imo, not that that's any different than most of them except seemingly Eureka stuff.
