Totally right mate, it took off downwind but that doesnt matter because of the m/s of the wind wasnt influential. I saw this from the flybe hangars airside.
actually, speaking form the airport, it took off from runway 15 because they had to do some tests to see if the taxiway at the end was wide enough when it turned around to get onto the runway
Actually it did have a choice! They wanted it to take off heading towards the new terminal! It was the only flight that took off the opposite way to all the other flights that afternoon.
You want to ask your flybe pilot if they have ever actually flown into Birmingham. If you look at Google Earth you will see there are no houses at the end of runway 33.
NO no no you got it all wrong it took off 15 because of a photo opportunity that had to take place in front of the new international pier, you see it landed on 33 in front of of the pier it took off 15 infront of the pier.

The A380 used RWY15 so it could take off infront of the New Intl. Pier....
