I just recently started watching your videos when Railroads! Online came out. Good stuff; thanks for the content. I’ve been a Run8 player since V1 way back in 2013. As you alluded to several times in this video, it is much more a simulator than a game. It takes some serious railroading acumen to use it and use it well. For most people, Run8 is just too much, and that’s OK. Most people are looking for a fun game that has lots of eye candy and that you can play through in a relatively short period of time. Run8 is not for those people. It’s for the fans that want to get as close to real railroading as possible without actually working for the railroad (although a surprising number of players are real railroaders). That means you get the good, the bad, and the ugly. Long, slow climbs up mountain passes, ridiculous amounts of waiting in sidings, defects and malfunctions that screw up your day. While those kinds of things don’t strike most people as “fun,” you can’t get much closer to the real thing. You either love it or you hate it!
Well said. Thats kinda why i like it its more akin to the real deal and operations. While TS is as well just a bit less so and it looks good on some content and tsw looks good but is more shallow than a kiddie pool 😉

This can actually be solved by copying your V2RailVehicles and V2Routes folders in to same position in your V3 files. Before starting back up Run8 you must re-run the V3 installer. @@schnauzahpowahz So far, I'm impressed. Not sure I'm looking for a full train simulator. I think this is what separates the folks that completely serious and want to do this as a hobby (akin to setting up elaborate H.O. scaled sceneries back in the day) from the rest of us. On the other hand, all I do is quickies anyway so "just running a train" would be fine by me. I think what turns me off is the multiplayer aspect. Probably some real type folks out there, last thing I want is to get in the way of those serious-minded players.
I've seen a number of videos for this game and am thinking of buying it, I already have Train Sim World 2, and Train Sim World 2022. I like to see more of your videos if you do anymore.
I'm not going to lie, I was hoping after 3 years they would've updated the graphics to at least somewhat modern standards. Great sim, but imo, graphics can add a lot to the immersion. I do enjoy the environment lighting though. Great sim, but requiring a repurchase should yield a "new" product. Full price should entail a full new product or at least close to it. As it stands, again imo, this is more of an update and as such doesn't warrant a full price purchase. Thanks for the video as usual! :)
I have yet to get this game but I need to. If you want to colab or just learn some neat features of railroading in Run8 let me know! Love your channel.
I never heard of Run8. Looks interesting. Prices are steep. Unfortunately for me, fortunately for my bank account ;), I can't buy it anyway. Because no PayPal and I don't have any credit cards. (It's not very common in germany to have a credit card like visa or MasterCard) But would love to see a series on this, don't care if you're an expert or not xD. Learn as you go.
But i didn't! I def have not purchased Cajon. Ive only tried to run one train across it at the pass and it broke apart for not reason like an intended prob for not owning it - like the license issues
To be honest, I don’t really care for V3 as unlike V2 with V1, you could download it, but for V3 you just gotta buy the whole game over again which is honestly stupid and just ruins the whole point of V2 and V1
Always thought Run8 was a neat idea, I just wish they'd do more classic stuff. Thats always been the big turnoff for me, modern motive power just all looks the same and holds no real character in my eye. Even if they only did diesels, I'd love to see some early Geeps and Alcos to entice the antiquated minds.

@@schnauzahpowahz thank you so much for your reply! I'm not saying it was better 30 years ago, we now have amazing games, but I miss the beefy manuals that came with each game... Hope to see more Run8 content from you, I like your style. Thanks again!
can i drive to washington?
Gonna stream your adventures -- like a series once you get "on track" with the sim?
Gonna try for sure. Im looking fwd to spending more time w this
@@schnauzahpowahz So far, I'm impressed.
I run anywhere fromLBC/San Diego all the way to Needles CA route in real life. This game look pretty good. But Barstow looks a little to green
You have a better tutorial than the people who made it😂
Do you have to pay to upgrade from v2 to v3
Yeah
how do i turn off the conductor commentary because he talking like hes a pirate and its driving me crazy.
Where's the steam?
Maybe in about 10-20 years, Run8's graphics will match Railworks Train Simulator.
I sometimes hear sounds like "Where's me rum" and such, very annoying, can I turn this off?
You need to register your license from the menu so it knows you didn't pirate the game
now i just bye me run 8 Tarin sim Version 3, now i have to wait for the key???
How quick ?
I have yet to get this game but I need to. If you want to colab or just learn some neat features of railroading in Run8 let me know! Love your channel.
DTG should do a ATSF variant of the SD45-2
DTM already did
I never heard of Run8. Looks interesting. Prices are steep. Unfortunately for me, fortunately for my bank account ;), I can't buy it anyway. Because no PayPal and I don't have any credit cards. (It's not very common in germany to have a credit card like visa or MasterCard)
But would love to see a series on this, don't care if you're an expert or not xD. Learn as you go.
I agree, i use PP for everything but they accept anything with a visa/mastcard logo i believe, so bank/debit cards etc
The rail driver is bugged abit for now till they patch it. the auto DS is bugged also. The man helpers is cool.
how do you kill the pirate voice he talks way to much
V3 does NOT come with Cajon Sub...that is add on route...obviously you bought it.
But i didn't! I def have not purchased Cajon. Ive only tried to run one train across it at the pass and it broke apart for not reason like an intended prob for not owning it - like the license issues
i just got the game
To be honest, I don’t really care for V3 as unlike V2 with V1, you could download it, but for V3 you just gotta buy the whole game over again which is honestly stupid and just ruins the whole point of V2 and V1
Always thought Run8 was a neat idea, I just wish they'd do more classic stuff. Thats always been the big turnoff for me, modern motive power just all looks the same and holds no real character in my eye. Even if they only did diesels, I'd love to see some early Geeps and Alcos to entice the antiquated minds.
bought this game really wanted to get into it have v3 but once i place a train and get ready to set it up i start hearing this pirate voice very odd can't seem to get it to stop lol
If your still up for it, I'm a content creator for an enhancement discord with plenty of mods.
sorry to say i won't touch run 8 with a barge poll payed them 50 dollars 2 years ago never got any reply from them and trying to contact them was a pain in the arse from graham in the uk
personally i dont like v3 so i downloaded v2
Not sure thats possible, less you already had v2?
@@schnauzahpowahz also how do you stop the pirate from talking in V3
But buying everything verison for $50 kinda sucks isn't it ?
It really does I've spent so much on V2
