The switch was lined to the right at first, and you flipped it to the left. I've done that a time or two in real life. It's less stressful in the Sim. LOL. Great video.
The customer that you're wondering about is a transfer yard for Cardinal Medical Supply (known as Boundary yard, named for the road that its on). Used to be known as "Covidien medical supply". They get hoppers of plastic pellets that they truck to their plant on the north end of town by the airport. Buddy of mine was a regular conductor on the 766, so I would chase him into town pretty often. if the day was going well for them and time allowed, I'd sometimes carry him and the engineer down the road to Mirino's pizza for lunch.
I used to railfan at the Deland station back when the A line had a few freight trains regularly scheduled. My dad and I would drive from Sorrento FL the town I was raised in. This brought back So many memories
I don’t have this or any other train sims or games but you make this look fun! Thanks for all the local story details. If a person were going to build a model train shelf/switching layout this looks like it would be a good prototype.
Hmm. Its a total mystery 😆. I may or may not have driven in that lot at one point and you can see the product on the ground and what looks like tarp to keep stuff from soaking in the soil
@@schnauzahpowahz He's definitely not correct, I work for a small, family owned railroad called BSX, that definitely does not service the deland branch and it's definitely not a transload operation that definitely doesn't have like two customers within it one definitely not being a healthcare company and the other definitely not being the trucking company itself. SEE COMPANY POLICY I'M NOT SAYING WHO I WORK FOR SEE!
Even though people might not agree with me put I have always wanted more routes like this in TS and TSW, a 15-20 mph Branch line, that's has industries on it switches you can play around with, and just relaxing, many people sing driving trains is all about the thrill of high-speed and stuff, but sometimes just chilling out on a slower branch line can be run, plus I love Swiching so why not
Like the one person said in the comments it's transload facility one of the covered hoppers on street view is mllx which is owned by Equistar Chemicals and it looks like they make small plastic beads to be melted down into other products
My biggest hope is that for the new CSX southeast dlc to get released is the Route running from Waycross through Dothan, Alabama to Montgomery. Then create have the parts running from Birmingham to Atlanta. Reason being is I'm absolutely biased since I live along that stretch of track between Waycross and Dothan.
Are you talking about the grain hoppers at boundry in Deland they reduce plastics pellets or send out plastic Pellets, the tracks to left east of boundary are disconnected from the main and building is a auto shop now.
Hey Sean, im new to Run8 and V3 myself, im curious how you were able to have a proper dispatch screen. Mine is all the way zoomed out and shows every yard and line in a tiny screen, i can't scroll through them with F3 like i can in california. Curious if you also had this issue before. great video, thanks! got run8 thanks to your first V3 Videos.
F3 then tab. There are quite a few documents and manuals, I'd recommend reading em. Everything you need to know is on the website and the content documents. Good luck
If its unguarded there can be a stop sign, iirc unguarded they normally stop anyway to flag it but the line also ends a few hundred feet up too, prob just a reminder
Assuming you are headed back to Rands Yd., Why run around the cars? and not just 'shove' back to the main to where you started on the Main at the Platform, then your lead unit would be facing toward Rands short hood lead?
Irl, on the days the the DeLand Branch is worked, they go up to Seville, and work a facility up there. So either way, the engine will be LHF back to Rands. So instead of shoving the 3 some odd miles down the DeLand Branch, it’s easier to just run around it, and run with the engine back south. Plus, a little less work for the conductor ;)
Yeah I'd imagine essentially what South Wye said, plus riding ass end forward pushing consist is a lot more sketchy in that narrow corridor 😉 (and a lot less conductor hussle)
I love this little spur. it seems like such a great place for beginners to locals to start off too. Love the new sounds. Any chance they're public? I'd love to get my hands on them. I keep seeing something about a discord group that's been temporarily abolished, but I've heard no news on that.

Awesome. The mystery is no more 😁
That has to be the best sounding roll by ive heard in Run 8.
Better sound than dtg gives thats for sure!

It’s a plastics trans load for the covered hoppers they unload pellets onto trucks as far as we could figure out

24:53-25:02 exactly what train operators think whenever people do that sort of thing 😂 Jolly good show bro as usual 🙂
Nice to see more Run8 content! I'm "distracted" by the new Big Radials' Goose in MSFS right now, but I'll soon be back to this sim.
Yeah this sim looks amazing.
Lots of OJ in the beginning!! Good video!
Can’t wait to try this game out! Planning on getting it when I get home

That's a very nice horn on the GP40-2, do you remember where you got it or if its available for the public?
GOOD CATCH
The illusive A766. One of the toughest locals on CSX to catch. But, when you catch it and can chase it, it's worth the gas.
Seems that way. Been curious to track it down myself. Deland be a bit easier to watch than aloma and the Sanford industries.
Right on the money with that, Sean. @@schnauzahpowahz

You have to hit the tab key, it will enlarge each of the sections.
@@highballrun8626 thanks, just tried and it works. still no moncrief yard or any of the other yards however.

Is the CSX geep included with the A line route, or is it separate?

how do we know if we need to bring empty or loaded cars to industerys
This looks good. Can I get this on Steam? I would love to try this game at some point. The sounds seems to be more realistic than in TSC.
Love it
Thanks, love the map!
I had no idea there were ever stop signs facing trains :) is that because of the fire trucks I can see down the road?

This the depot?
Did they fix couplers issues in V3?

Update this morning on Horseshoe containers look better
Right! They sure do. Even if they're unbranded
Will my V2 content combine I'm the V3 Snaughtz?
All V2 content is compatable with Version 3
I just don’t have the station model yet
So what you're saying is... its most definitely 1000% coming at some point then?
