.270 is my favorite call. and the coating something I never even thought about so learned something. Have always shot jacketed rounds one melting two fouling. Older barrels seems to have that pitting in the lands and groove's. My rounds have never settled out until I get passed 150 yards even with factory loads. Plinking rounds you could drop to a 130gr varmint bullet with a lighter charge if your wife doesn't like the recoil of that round. Also look into a Kickez gel pad. My ex always wanted to shoot my .270 and cried shooting my 150gr loads so mixed a powderpuff load just for her and added a Kicked just so I could go to the range more without getting my head bit off. Good luck.
You didn't explain exactly what your wife would like to use the .270 for. You mentioned her being able to go shooting at the range. If she's interested in small deer, there are 90gr to 110gr offerings that will reduce recoil. Once she gets accustomed to the 90gr bullets she can slowly move up the bullet weight till the recoil becomes not fun. You can do this without reloading, if you reload the combinations are almost endless.
Lol I actually did around the 1:00 mark. She's really just a 100yd and in plinker. Like shooting cans , steel , ect . She has no desire to kill anything so these cast bullets are about perfect
Outstanding videos bud, I’ve only loaded and cast slugs. I just use wheel weights for those, do you have a formula you use on the mixture, or is it just wheel weight. Also are you buying your lead from from a website that is already mixed to cast
@@attaway9able thanks man ! Honestly now days I just buy my alloy lol.since I cast for smaller diameter bullets them most a 20# order of lead lasts me a good long little while ! That being said when I started I was using 100% CLIP ON wheel weights. I'll still bring home a buck of them when I can but for the most part I avoid alot of the lead scrounging and what not lol
Great wealth of knowledge
Definitely call it a success, looks very pleasant to shoot and should definitely fit the purpose for that load.

Add a recoil pad . It will take care of the problem.

🇺🇸😜🙏🙏😜🇺🇸
just put muzzle break on it
@@1hunterdale mehhhh cast is way cheaper anyway you look at it
But a muzzle brake will stop all the recoil
