I had no idea Singapore was such a beautiful place!! And oh the food!!! I'll be sad when you leave there for sure. I'm going to take this opportunity to wish you both a very Merry Christmas and a blessed 2023. Thank you so much for all you share!!
Excellent travelogue. Great videography, captured all the beautiful sights and sound. And all those delicious looking food. The Little Red Dot is like a wonderland, esp during Christmas. Love it.
Lau Pa Sat is considered quite expensive for a hawker centre. Go to the neighbourhood hawker centres for cheaper options. Just take the MRT train, drop at any stations not central and you will likely find neighbourhoods with HDB buildings and cheap food amidst these buildings. Enjoy ur stay.
I can’t believe you guys are in my home country 🥹 I’ve been watching the TIHWB family for quite awhile and never knew Papa Bingham used to come here for work! Hope you two enjoy your time here 💛 Thank you, we love you ~
The broth on the side of the chicken rice is meant to be drank as is, as the chicken rice has no actual “sauce” per se and can be quite dry. It’s typical for Singaporean Chinese cooking to come with a side of soup if the dish itself doesn’t contain any broth.
hahaha yes singapore is really humid hot and rainy! i love it how you all get to enjoy ever aspect of Singapore!! you should totally recommend the rest of binghams to come one day
We love Singapore you have to go up the top of Marina Bay sands we went there for our 40th Wedding Anniversary and stayed a couple of nights. The top of it is magical at night and also Gardens by the Bay
The Hainanese Chicken Rice is one of the many national dishes (9:33) and it is cooked with chicken oil. You're supposed to put both the sweet dark soy sauce and chili sauce (plus minced ginger) onto your rice and chicken. The soup is to be enjoyed on its own.
@@joshualeecc Then you must have been eating it wrong. You can dip the chicken into the sauce but I think what Chira meant was that the dark soya sauce, chilli and ginger on rice will give the chicken rice another dimension. If u dun drizzle them over the rice….then you would have to dip every single grain of rice before every mouthful??? 😂 Anyway, i would recommend eating the rice with a spoon instead of a fork. That way, u can enjoy the chicken rice and wash it down with its accompanying soup. And please do not drizzle soup over the rice 😅
@@alvintan786 noooo. I will never put the chilli on the rice. Hahahaha. Everyone eats their chicken rice differently, and i only use the chilli sauce for my chicken. Dark sauce sometimes i pour on my rice but most of the time i dont. And i love it the way i eat it, there is no such thing as right or wrong way in eating Singapore Street Food. 😊
@@FbodzRyuji Just know this...Hainanese Chicken Rice is never what it is without the special chilli, black sauce and ginger...it would just be another plain chicken and rice...dun get me wrong...if you are the type that buys chicken rice without the chilli, black sauce and ginger...what does that make you? Its like telling me that you eat satay without the peanut gravy....get it? You need to get the full dimension of tastes that comes with the chilli and all....its never about how we like to eat it the food...its about the correct way to savour them as it was designed to be tasted...if peeps like you have your way...i dread to think that one day, i would have to bring my own chilli and all to enjoy a real plate of chicken rice...please dun mutate my Hawker Food ...please
@@alvintan786 hahaha. I still prefer my chicken rice without the chilli. I just prefer many things without chilli (for someone who cant tolerate spice. 😭) Still taste very good to me. You keep your taste, i keep mine. No need to turn something subjective to become a political issue. 😊
Singapore looks like a really cool city! That food on the grills or smokers looked amazing. I bet you are glad to be out of all that winter wear?! Please continue to be safe ☺️❤️
Ahh eating rice with a fork. Something to let you know in this region (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia) we eat rice using spoon. Spoons can easily scoop up the rice.
Lovely intro homage to Singapore. Since you are now picked up by Google News streaming, I suggest you shoot an email with this video link to the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) to share your enjoyable visit there and look forward to return in future hopefully when your budget and travel plans align with other destinations. Offer your option to do more segments on different aspects of Singapore in detail should a good sponsor (hint: STB, SIA) be keen to collaborate with their own promotions for the country. You can use this consideration as a template for other countries (with tourism budgets) you plan or visited, eg, Bangkok, Japan.. Good luck and mNy best wishes. Sayo🙏💐😊
it looks stunning and as you say clean , I lived in Switzerland before living in Panama, Panama City and I can appreciate what its like living in a clean country.
the bowl is soup that is often served wirh chicken rice and no you dont pour it over the rice 😂 the dark sauce that chelle got is soy sauce so that is usually poured over the rice the red one is chilli, some like it on the rice and some just dip the chicken in it
NEVER pour the soup over chicken rice. It’s just an accompaniment for the chicken rice, whether or not you want to drink it. Welcome to hot n humid Sgp. Enjoy your stay.
Hey y'all! Seems that the 100k brought out some critics. I love the videos always!! Let's me vicariously visit the magnificent places y'all are setting! Is Originals to the channel don't care if it's a month ago or yesterday! Keep on being YOU guys!! Much love, Merry Christmas!!
Awesome video! Thanks for showing around different parts of Singapore! Since watching your vlogs, I have started to create my own videos such as vlogs, mukbangs and sit down ones! 😃
Great first day in Singapore WOW I've lived in Singapore before in the early 90's - the secret of the delicious chicken & rice dish is cooking the rice in chicken broth, hope you had a chance to try Irvins salmon skin chips as it was invented in Singapore. Entering Asia with Singapore as a first stop was a very good idea - modern, easy, and impressive. From Singapore to Malaysia, Bali, Thailand you will get a fully appreciation of SE Asia. Hope you also stop in HK and Tokyo too and see that "not all Asians are the same" lol - have fun !!
I hope you visited the ArtScience museum ,it's awesome interactive! Btw, yours the only travel vlog that got me smiling all throughout. Btw, that's chicken stock soup, not to pour into rice, unless you want chicken porridge.
Hey bro for the chicken rice , that is a soup that is served along side with the dish. You drink it along with the chicken rice. Do not pour the soup onto the rice. The chili sauce and the black soy sauce is the one that you should be pouring on the rice and chicken 👍
Ha ha the man on the boat thought you were on your honeymoon. That is nice to be able to she everything from the boat. Dan was funny with all of the food. I loved the Merlion
LaCie is a pretty sturdy brand known for its shock proof storage. That’s a good buy. Tho, locals won’t buy there, there will always be cheaper places for electronic devices haha. Remember to keep the receipts that you can claim GST Tax refunds at the airport.
Great video guys , my question is , how do you know what to get at the hawker centres if there’s around 100 stalls , is by the look or the smells coming from what’s being cooked . I am going there next month and I really want to try theses centres . TIA 👍
Singapore is a garden city, animals are protected here, at some places if u are lucky can meet some wildlife walking around. Chicken, otters, wild boar, deer 🙏Blessing
You’re allowing me to try to relive a few adventures that my late husband and I took - usually laced with business. We had to wait for about an hour to get to the sky-top restaurant. It seems that the Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos (former president of the Philippines) and party were more important than we were! 😂
Welcome to Singapore. I’m a fan from Singapore, go to universal studio Singapore. Please bring all the Bingham family. Hope I can give you a tour . But went did you come here
We moved to Singapore for 2 years to try out a different life. That was over 15 years ago and we are still here...
Amazing!
Singapore is such a beautiful place, and so clean.

I am ready for a foodie tour! Singapore is terrific- looks so different from all the other places you’ve been!
Hainanese Chicken Rice. Laksa. Satay. Lately the Wok Hey fried noodle with prawns. Just to name a few of my favourites.
