Upholding the Rechtsfahrgebot like a proper Botschafter des Landes. 👍
I think Mike's German DNA will not allow him to drive like others do in Florida. You two should totally kayak the rivers. They really are beautiful, especially the ones with springs up in the north part of the state.
I can confirm we have "Blitzers" in the trees.
Little sneaky birds with cameras attached. 😂
"I'm shooting you gleich across." XD the denglisch XD
As soon as the German gets there: it's hiking time 😂
Hello Hayley, hello Mike, thank you for those interesting impressions, particularly of that park. Amazing nature.
Possibly I would feel lost on those broad roads. Without the signs and the buildings I'd possibly think I'd be driving on a runway of an airport ...
Vlogs with the two of you are always chaotic. 😂 But it's enjoyable to see. About the steeringwheel, in the Netherlands it's Zehn für Zwei. 😉
Wow mike is driving in America.
I know.... it stresses me out because he has his "German driving mindset" and that doesn't work in crazy a** Florida with all of these crazy drivers
@@HayleyAlexis I could imagine how stressful it will be.
Yes, the man has courage, he is more dangerous than any alligator on the street or in the bedroom ;-))
I was hoping to hear about Mike's driving experiences but I assume he did just fine. We actually had our first turtle crossing the road experience last year and it was so great. I know people in the midwest are laughing at me but that doesn't happen everywhere. It was the size of a football, and went tumbling off the asphalt as it completed its journey. Black bears will run away from you, no worries. I've chased them myself. Except when they have babies, like Wildschwein, I'm not going there.
I was there in 2017, in Lauderdale by the Sea, wow mein Daddy im Broward Health North starb. Er hatte seine Jugendfreundin nach 50 Jahren wiedergefunden
Des driving at the crossings is for us Germans not so easy, you know, wegen first in first out. I needed to get some huuphuup to understand it. 😂😂
You both are really a funny couple, Hayley, du mit deinen Sommersprossen, und Mike shorthaired 😮
Wish you all the best, Gerhard
Hayldenglisch😂
Thank you so much for showing me Florida! Wow. It reminds me a little of Louisiana but not quite. However I think in both Germany and Florida the squirrels behave the same way: ) Frech, and climbing up the side of a building like spiderman, and yelling at you. Florida is so different from the PNW, it's amazing, I have to go...but like you said, not in JULY.
Didn't know about American home fries. They look scrumptious!
"Why are you still watching (...)?" 😂
You got caught!!
Well, ain't it common to put some outtakes at the end of a vid? So...
How’s Mike liking the new car 🤪
He is in between.... It would not be his first pick of a car but I think he is happy that I have a car lmao
Looks like a Forza Horizon kind of game where you have to collect all Sumpf-Turtles
No one drive speed limits in Florida true and factual 😂 love from Winter Haven
9:22 - You know, I'd be tempted to postulate exaggeration here -- but after having followed this channel for many years... 😉😁
Great vlog, exactly what I'm here for! Ich hab' pipi in den Augen! 😂 I love you guys so much! ❤
What a wonderful verzauberter Märchenwald, with all these Rettungsboote from Lacoste 😜
Kinda fascinated by this huge crossroad without any traffic-lights :D
But how do you ever get into Christmas spirit in Florida? It still looks like summer, that's a bit sad. :/ Do you ever miss the 4 seasons there?
I think I still get the Christmas spirit but it comes in different ways than when I am in Germany.... It is more about traditions than the weather I suppose
Great seeing you both on video. Beautiful scenery. I like this video!😊❤
What a great trip and video! I could drive all day with you guys and see more of Florida. Beautiful!
3:05 It's at this point that I'm reminded of a time you probably don't remember, Hayley. In the days of analog speedometers, the speed limit on the national highway system was 55 mph. It was _such_ a universal norm that this point was highlighted on the speedometers of all cars sold in the US.
But the speedometers were sometimes made with the presumption that the US would make progress toward adoption of the _matric_ system. So it would have mph around the _outside_ and kph around the _inside,_ and near to the point where 55 mph was highlighted, 88 kph was _also_ highlighted.
U2 are so funny, I like that 😍
no middle lane cause we used to rechtsfahrgebot ! :)
I know!! That is something that Mike has a hard time with... That people drive in the left and middle lane extremely slow and don't get over when you pull up behind them... I told him he won't change people's driving so he might as well become accustomed to how it is done here...
If something prevents you from driving straight, then it is a "Verhindernis" - 😉 supi
What a wonderful Denglich! 😆
But how does a 4-way-stop works?
Everybody has to give way to all the others and no one is allowed to drive?
Florida in November might actually be tolerable. Florida in the summer though ...
Florida in summer is horrible
Was denkst du darüber?
Breaking news: Florida man drives correctly
Well, Mike, do you think you're going to like it there?
if Haley gets lost ... just follow the trail of big spray odor 😆
❤❤❤
The Denglish 🥹🫶🏼
Always on fleek!
Blinker nich.. der BMW Fahrer kennt dies nich!
mikes first nature trip after the move :D
you guys seemed to have had a great time 😊. and what a cool park!!
i wouldn’t have thought that bears and deers are in florida because of the high temperatures (they’re such typical “northern” animals for me; learned smth new today!
7:13 "Drei-"
"Ew. Never."
"That's how you drive."
That kind of hand placement is something _race_ car drivers and _emergency_ responders use so they can use armlock steering and hand-to-hand-feed steering to optimize control of their _vehicle._ It may not be what you're accustomed to, but it lowers your risk of having an accident.
8:00 wow i don't think i've seen a tortoise out in the wild like that; i think i've only ever seen them in a zoo
10:39 i did not know there were bears in Florida too, i thought they were more of a Northern thing (and for some reason, California too)
17:06 😂😂
A lot of people don't know bears are "common" here...
Mike get hayley a turtle😊
The car should have kph also. Most cars in the US have mph and kph. Kph will be the numbers written smaller.
What are those purple berries at 12:14? Are they edible?
Ja, was für Eichkatzl habts ihr da? 13:26 The closed trail didn't look in good shape at all anymore indeed.
They are starting to look alike😂
I was going to comment something frech. But actually I want to say something else: so this is love, huh 🥹
Danke danke ❤️❤️❤️
4:48 Now Mike has already adapted to Florida driving: Not making a wide turn to end up in the desired lane but just make it as tight as possible.
7:10 I learned 10 - 2. That's also easier on the wrists because the wheel supports the hands. 9 - 3 looks more like a bicycle handle and the hands have to grab more tightly in order not to fall down. Never heard of 9 - 3 position recommended. Perhaps BMW lacks a full steering wheel? Now I get some doubts about Mike's driving habits.
Were you able to use your GPS in English or did Mike need it in German? He seems pretty fluent in English but seems to struggle with it sometimes, so I could see if he preferred the driving instructions in German.
Fahr mal 100 😁
I don't think his name ist turtle. I feel his name is Leonardo.
Ich seh schon: with getting used a bit to those different rules Michael is going to outperform those Florida drivers going at least 5 above speed limit, just by obeying rules like stay to the right and don't exceed speed limits. Einfach, weil er in Germany gelernt hat 😂
Hayley can you try the google maps in German ? It uses a word that sounds like "abeeden" links abeeden reichts abeeden and i have no clue what abeeden is ? I think they are using it to say ahead but thats not right .. thankgs
I think I use Apple Maps in the car because it automatically pops up on the dashboard when I am driving but my google maps is already in German.
It's "abbiegen" it means "turn to" then left or right.
"abeeden" is probably links/rechts abbiegen, which means turn (left or right)
Thanks .. I guessed turn ahead but couldn't make it out . abbigen didn't know that one
Well Hayley, you got that SWEET BLOOD also... Both of you will have to do the garlic or try some other natural bug repellant oil... like citronella ....
concrete driveway everywhere
don't you have stones?
I think it's kind of weird to put up signs that state the speed limit as 55 when it's okay if people drive up to 5 mph _faster._ Why is it called a "speed _limit"_ if it's not the _limit?_ No. If it's okay to drive 60 mph, print signs that designate _that_ as the speed limit.
Did you meet a ravaging Florida man yet?
What's a tortoise? A french turtle?
tortoise = Landschildkröte
turtle = Wasserschildkröte
Lol. Look up turtle vs. tortoise on Google. It'll give you an excellent definition with pictures.
Also, all tortoises are turtles, but not all turtles are tortoises.
They told me I can drive 7mph faster than speed limit in road test. Why not up the speed limit then. 😂 Is it psychologically important to be over? 😅
Mike, beware of the speed limit, you don't want to encounter the trigger happy police force, they might kneel on your neck for half an hour.
Typischer BMW- Ignorant: "I blinke nicht."
Inland Florida is boring.
0:21 You guys are dressing like _that_ in _November._ You are _not_ in Germany.
They’re in Florida.
.....are you talking about......MEEEE????
@@HayleyAlexis Not without my lawyer.☺
From my perspective so many stop signs are just dumb - a lot of unnecessary wear on brakes and fuel wasted for acceleration, where there could have been "main road" and "give way" signs. American traffic traditions seem to treat people like complete idiots, which.. Well, maybe they got reasons for it, given how American drivers seem sort of dumb for Europeans, but still feels sort of unfair.
