- Daryl Hall performs "Everytime You Go Away" live at the Farm Aid concert in Champaign, Illinois on September 22, 1985. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

3 legends of music on stage. Learn something new everyday, did not know Daryl Hall wrote this song. Thanks for posting.
I really like Paul Young's version. When I still thought it was his. Every performance with Daryl and/or John is so much better. Sorry, Paul.
Billy Joel on the Hammond B3, WOW!!! Fantastic!!! He's just tearin' it up!!! Love this!!!
I don't usually comment on bass players but dang.. that dude was killing it! Phrasing was amazing.
One of my favorite Hall and Oates songs. This performance with Billy and Bonnie is just plain wild! Love it!
Daryl’s Masterpiece❣️
Billy's rockin' that oldHammond
Daryl's got the best hair in the business.
Him and Steve Perry
Daryl has the best hair in the universe.
👱♀️
And George Michael
Jajajajaja ... YES!
GE Smith - Always shows up in the coolest places
If you gave this song a thumbs down you should rip your ears off!
Billy Joel sure can tear up a Hammond organ. Sounds amazing.
Blue Eyed Soul at its best!
Daryl hates to be called "blue eyed soul" 😢 He said it on howard stern. He's a real soul singer.
Daryl always delivers
ALWAYS
Doesn't get much better than that, ya'll!
FABOLUS!!!
Thank you Mr. Letterman.
WOW! Timeless.
I'm in my 20s and I am a big fan of Daryll Hall and Billy Joel! They are legends!!
Alissa M ya ya everybody's a legend
I'm 62 so you missed the best part of Daryl Hall and John Oates try their music Billy Joel is great .the two original singers really nice three cheers from Canada
Alissa M smart young lady right on!😄
@@glxyrr1 if Billy Joel isn’t a legend I don’t know what a legend is.
@@canslimmaster1 what’s so smart about what she said? She was being sarcastic saying “ya ya suuure they are”. she thinks Daryl Hall and Billy Joel are overrated. Sounds like a cringe take.
Daryl, Kenny Loggins, Paul Rogers, Michael Macdonald and John Farnham my favorite singers.
How lucky I am to see three top-notch musicians with such strong personalities performing together!
Good times. As much as I hate getting old, the music from back then reminds me how blessed we were to be alive during it all. Nothing will ever take the place of, or supersede the music from the 70s and 80s. I'm an analog girl!
T-Bone killing that bassline!! Nice!
love that guy, what a musician, RIP my man.
He and Mr. Casual are two of the most underrated musicians in history.
@@ManOfThePeople75 Who is Mr Casual?
I found the answer. You mean Charlie DeChant. Yes he's underrated, just like T-Bone. But he's not on this video.
@@gjs9441 Charlie Dechant. Played Sax and Keys. I believe he has been with Daryl and John the longest…since the mid 70’s. He still plays with them
A beautiful song, sung with a gorgeous voice
Hello dear, how are you doing, how is the weather today?,happy new month of december
The world we used to know no longer exixts...unfortunately.
So 😎 cool that they did this. And, yes, Daryl has fantastic hair. Always has and always will. But, the important thing is the kind of great 👍 person he is. We all love you Daryl 💘
Hello dear, how are you doing, how is the weather treating you today?
Sure looks like A LOT of fun!!!!!
That is some HEAVY bass.
Wow Billy and Daryl, so awesome! I love Billy's vocals in this
Oh my God! Billy and Daryl singing together... PURE MAGIC ❤
I've seen all these performers separately. Wish I had seen them together...too much talent in one place!! 🥰
Hello dear, how are you doing, how is the weather today?,happy new month of december
One of the best concerts I've ever attended. the line-up was insane.
All and all, we miss them at their finest; It was a good decade. Watch how they master everything else from here on out.
this is my favorite Hall & Oates song... Everytime You Go Away you take a piece of meat with you!
meat...? LOL
@@konacopia At the clubs when this song was covered that was often the lyric that was used….it was sort of a joke at first, then it was almost expected. The performers would emphasize “meat”
Omg,,, what a voice!!!!
Tbone....there, it needed to be said!
Love this, totally awesome group.
G.E. Smith needs to settle down..
Billy Piano MAN fa tutto bene ... Talento musicale senza limiti
Earlyish appearances by GE Smith and T-Bone! No one knew in 1985 what an impact they would also have....
Two of my most favourite guys ❤
Daryl Hall just became my favourite male singer. I watched him own Live Aid, now this.. I feel a little ashamed admitting it after all these years, I thought they were a synth band and couldn't even perform live.
The smile on my face is massive, his energy, and there is so much on RUclips I haven't watched.
A synth band? 😳
Imagine thinking synth bands lame
Todd Rundgren (also from Philadelphia, like Daryl Hall) says that Daryl's the one who taught him to sing out soulfully, and I'm grateful to him for that--and a lifetime fan of Rundgren and Hall and Oates.
If you haven't heard it, listen to "Abandoned Luncheonette," (and Rundgren's acclaimed "Something/Anything.")
Daryl and Todd lived 1 mile apart. Same/similar influences.
💙💙💙💙💙💙me some Darryl !!!!!!
Damn, just knew this version existed... Soulful n great..
Yes,! Exist and it was written by DARYL HALL … Mr Paul Young became famous Thank to this Magistral Song..
He did great too…
Best version I've heard
And G.E. Smith on lead guitar!
Most prominent bass guitar ever.
TALK ABOUT TALENT ! I'M DOWN ON MY KNEES ! THESE GUYS ARE GREAT !👍💙
OmG
what a performance!
Darryl’s vocals an the late great Bass players licks (you all know his name)
Gave me goose bumps.
fo’ sure
Ok, so who is he?? that amazing late great bass player? I seriously need to know!
T-Bone Wolk. Fantastic. And GE Smith on guitar.
Billy's vocals are great!
You heard it too! Billy stands out among idols.
Great singing incredible band and instrumentals.
That bass tone is killer.
I agree. I also love that short bass lick at 1:54
Yeah that's sweet
Anybody got a name for the bassist?
@@like2view Tom 'T-Bone' Wolk played many years with Hall & Oates and also with GE Smith in the Saturday Night Live band. He died in 2010.
Thanks Andres...a formidable bassist ...now posthumously on my radar.
Wish we were still this young,!
It’s OK 👌 Round & round we go
Wherever Daryl is it's his house.
The great SNL band leader and guitarist E.G. Smith also in this. Terrific. and I did not know Hall wrote this song.
Yes sir… He Did it…♥️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️♥️
Emocionante! abril 2020
band is on fire.
Daryl inspires. and _abides_
Great song...
Beautiful...Song...man...and hair 😍
The talent my friends
Daryl is perfectionist ❤
I clicked because of Bonnie. She's wildly underrated.
Charlesbjtown I understand the point you are trying to make, but Bonnie Raitt is not under rated. Pretty much everyone on the planet gives her the credit for being one of the greatest performers of her generation. Every time a new bluesy female performer comes along the first thing people do is compare her to Bonnie Raitt.
Her ability to sing in any genre makes her a true musical treasure!
Being underrated means winning 5 Grammys at one time? She was underrated before that.
yet another awesome Farmaid video! (brings back memories of Summer of '85)
Excellent!
Paul Young cant come anywhere near this..........nobody can pour more pain and heartache in a song like our man Daryl
Umm, it was Paul Young who produced an international hit of Daryl Hall's song, when H&O's original version on their 1980 Voices album a few years before wasn't even a hit. Not denying Daryl Hall's talent, but Paul Young is a fine artist in his own right...besides, Daryl Hall made bank because of Paul Young's success with this track ;)
@@konacopia It wasn't a hit because it was never released as a single. So no actual comparison can be made chart wise.
@@JadeK297 True, but it doesn't change the fact that Paul Young took his rendition to #1 in the US & #4 in the UK. To say Paul Young "can't come anywhere near this" is short-sighted.
I’m sorry even though Paul made this song a hit but Daryl is just better vocal wise. The original song is mind blowing , well at least for me
Amazing !!!thank you!!!
Fantastic job.
Legendary!
Whatta hoot.. Such talent on 1 stage at once...Miss Bonnie's tender harmonies...Billy Joel goes 2 Church on this one...all take this ditty to a whole new dimension...nice work boyz & girlz... Rock On...
I love this song. I love Daryl Hall. But way to underutilize Bonnie Raitt! He is way more giving to other artists nowadays on Live From Daryl's House:-)
Yes, but remember, this is a Live Aid concert, so you never know how that song came together...
I disagree, her backing vocal harmonies were beautiful. She is severely underrated though.
We need a reunion, maybe from Daryl's house
Yeeeessss! I was thinking the same thing! That would be so awesome!
Jean Lawrence Oh yeah.......
Yes!!
Maybe get Daryl Hall and Paul Young to join Billy on stage at Madison Square Garden.
Brilliant ❤❤❤❤❤
Bonnie Raitt & BillyJoel YES Excellent Song
ダリル・ホールとビリー・ジョエルの共演が見れるなんて夢のよう
ビリー・ジョエルもボニー・レイットも熱唱してる
He dont need back singers edit love this live preformance
Love love love all the three A-listers in this video.
G.E. Smith and T-Bone!
OVE LOVE LOVE IT thank GOD for internet disovered it was yours and you sing it sooo much better
Way too good to even explain!!!!!
Hello dear, how are you doing, how is the weather today?,happy new month of december
I read so many silly rivalries between paul and daryl..let's be honest..daryl hall wrote a great song and thanks Paul Young for finding it and making it known to the whole world in a wonderful version.Would have been nice duet Paul Young & Daryl Hall.Paul Young is not a great author but one of the most beautiful voices and he is a great artist ...he knows how to transform unknown songs into successes..go and listen to what he has done with Wherever I Lay My Hat by M.Gaye.. .amazing!!
GE smith killin it
The best lead guitarist H&O ever had
Yep!
@@iancook3941 He was director of Bob Dylan's 30th anniversary concert in 1993.
Love is love..that is the way it is...I know you are always with me🤗🙏
Hello dear, how are you doing, how is the weather today?,happy new month of december
This is great 👍 deep love song bring it on♥️🌷
Hello dear, how are you doing, how is the weather today?,happy new month of december
How does this much talent fit on one stage?
Just realized that's Mickey Curry on the drums. Long time drummer for Bryan Adams. Great working drummer who has played with a lot of first class artists.
Michael Kennedy -Yeah I spotted that too. I’m a big BA fan, so Mickey caught my eye.
He played on their H2O album, and is in their Our of Touch video!
3 OF THE BEST!
Damn… so good!
The best soul sin ger around.
Hello dear, how are you doing, how is the weather today?,happy new month of december
Wow!!! Why doesn't this have more views?
Because people don't get it and realize who is on stage
Ol, I tracked down who that fantastic bass player is/was (he died in 2010): Tom "T-Bone" Wolk, longtime bass player for Hall & Oates... also the Saturday Night Live band for 5 years. What a great feel and badass fills!
Pino Paladino stole some of T-Bone's licks for Paul Young's version.
Who was playing tenor sax? Mark Rivera maybe... everyone sounded so amazing on this!!!
Gran tema representa a toda generación ochentera
Love this
I love this song.
Hello dear, how are you doing, how is the weather treating you today?
Bonny Raitt ist der Knaller!! Was eine geile Alte!! Love her so!!! 😘
One of the coolest dude on the planet
GE Smith killing it!
Check out Tbone Wolk on bass....He is amazing. Especially 3:24 into the song
Paul Young cant come anywhere near what Daryl does to this!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess this shows that a bass player can make or break a hit. Take a bow Pino.
bring back Daryl's hair!!!
Oh people are!
But no one can do it like him...and he knew it
Sou fã eterna! Adoro!!!!💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃👏👏👏👏👏👏💯💯💯💯💯
Bass game was on point
Good for you Mellisa, you have great taste!!! You just can't bring this to the table, you have to feel it!!!@
Espetacular. (desde Brasil)
Billy at home ... at the Hammond. (his 1st choice)
