Just to shine some light on the last question, even though its been years since this video was published. When the airbag system has a malfunction that makes the light come on, none of the airbags will deploy. Removing the light from the dashboard by pulling a fuse out does not change it. None of your airbags will work with this “trick”.

Man you are really perfect thank u a lot you solved my fucing big problem thank u again and I hope u see my comment ✌️✌️ peace
Sure it removed the aibag light but now cruise control light came up and doesnt dissapear, so its not really a solution.
Just to shine some light on the last question, even though its been years since this video was published. When the airbag system has a malfunction that makes the light come on, none of the airbags will deploy. Removing the light from the dashboard by pulling a fuse out does not change it. None of your airbags will work with this “trick”.
Thank you someone with some general knowledge and common sense on here which cell constructive important obvious solution if the lights on in the first place something wrong SRS system which needs to be rectified or fixed every chance airbag won't deploy. it's not rocket science.
I guess to get your vehicle through a MOT may help, or a dodgy person selling his car
To another person
Haha you have no clue what you're talking about. If the airbag light is ON because of seat occupancy mat/sensor, and if you do what he did in the video, or if you forcefully delete the code. ALL of the airbags necessary will still deploy. same goes for you @manny singh
Thats cool mate. Thks 4 heads up... im no professional electrician or mechanic. Iv owned several bms over 25yrs an dealt with many faults. I actually own 2 535i Msport an e46 323i M too. An my previous e46 had airbag issues obviously we all kw hw 2 disable them or bypass an so forth but we all also kw that there is every chance wen indeed of them 2 deploy theres evry chance they won't deploy an im talking from experience bud. But u seem 2 kw ur shit. But jus 2 set things straight
My aim wasn't merely to let and notify people on here that it's not worth tinkering with such systems and modules and sensors buy disconnecting soldering resistors to such and such blah blah blah underseat occupancy sensor disconnections this that and the other due to an evry possibility an dangers or malfunctions of srs systems especially on E46s with common electrical issues,so time comes when needed the the damn things don't deploy. Jus because u owned a BMW an was a cheaps scate who refused 2 buy parts for woteva fix fault etc. An in word's of bmw doctors utbe channel DONT BUY AN BMW IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY FOR ORIGINAL OR GOOD QUALITY OEM PARTS FOR YOUR CAR then you shouldn't really be a owner of 1 looool
@@mannysingh8295 keep trying to convince me otherwise and angry-write with your broken English, I'm differently not going to read throug that crap. I know for a fact it'll deploy if the light is on because of seat occupancy mat being torn.
Mate not being offensive an im a 42yr born British Asian who attended from nursery to college.
Just to things straight an in perspective, not to argue or offend anyone but merely giving my version on subject an what worked for me an so forth. No drama thou. You stay safe an well ..
When I take it off, it brings up the cruise control light on
Hi I did remove the fuse and then the cruise control light comes on and airbag light goes off
Or you could take the car to BMW and ask them to fix the airbag fault. Over 300,000 e46 models were recalled due to an airbag fault
It’s weird, my seatbelt light comes on when I take out the #10 fuse.
I removed it and replaced the fuse then i had my ABS light come on, handbrake light among a few other lights. Speedo and rev counter stuck half way, no power to my car (struggle getting up a tiny incline in first) no lights. Electric window and wiper where incredibly slow. I wouldn’t recommend it from my experience.
I did this and it turned my cruise control light on permanently. Any way to remove that?
Just insert the fuse back on . Mine has airbag light too . I am cool with that
At MOT the check light must be on when you turn on the ignition...
Desconectandolo asi puedes pasar la ITV si no se te apagava ?
No, porque en la itv miran que se enciendan todas las luces y que se apaguen.
I have the same problem on my e46 coupe, can't wait to turn it off.. so airbag still works after removing fuse, is that for sure?!
No it may not work but who really knows because the air bags sometimes dont go off anyways
well this is not by any means permanent fix... however if the mot is coming up and you really need car for daily driving you want to do this... then put fuse back on once the mot is cleared and then fix the problem asap

One thing that I'm concern more are exploding airbags, check videos about exploding airbags.. Any time when airbag is activated, bag just explodes and some iron ring (shrapnel) with a bullet speed hits drivers in head, mostly in the eye, and kill them instantly..it happens even with new Takata airbags, but sometimes also if they are old, like mine is.. Ford, Mazda, Chrysler, Honda and BMW manufactured before 2008 are affected
@@CarpeDiem23 i dont think you have to worry about that in bmw... The airbag will hurt but not kill you
@@e36fanatics
You don't understand, it's malfunction, just check couple short videos on YT and see how dangerous is, it's literally bullet in the head instead of balloon :-) ..they recall 100 millions cars in last 5 years..for bmw, many models, serie 3 from 2000 to 2008 (I'm in).. On this site ( www.nhtsa.gov/recalls ) people can enter serial number to see if their car is on the list for any defects, if yes it's free of charge to fix it, I'll check my number later
Thx for the trick it does work and my old e46 357 000 km had no problem at the technical control (no OBD test requiered for she is before 2004 )
Did the car die ?
357,000 is crazy
@@amdany1357have 286.000 km 330i e46 year 2000, manual 5 speed
Excellent. Thank you.
And if I do, the airbag work?
Hello. The airbag warning light disappears but the on-board computer shift lever no longer works. Has anyone else suffered like this?
I have done that. Air bag light turned off but for some reason autopilot green light turned on. Who can help
İt worked for me as well. But cruise control doesn't work now... ?? Any suggestions
I've done this and it puts on my cruise control light. 318ti e46
Thanks for feedback, ive also done this and everything seems to be fine on my 2002 318i
Yes, cruise control light turns on.. the car inspection was approved
Same here, did you solve this by now?
Yeah, because seatbelts are there for nothing...
My other cars don't even have airbags, who cares with 120kmpu speed limits.
Michael seatbelts realy helps when you getting hit from side
i found out yesterday that my airbag light does not work at all. steering is moved from right to left and the car is really good from japan. BUT just doing this and selling car is the worst thing one can do, i have kids. i will find that fuse and hope airbag lite will come on and stays on unteel everything will be fixed.
I tried but with this hack don't work also the indication of fog lights when are switched on and forward and aft which are used
have followed the same and airbag light disappear in my E46. hope it will not effect other operation in my car?
If i ll go to the Mot they will know that i remove it? Because i failed last week because of that light, thank you!
miRS _# i have the same problem. I did this and hope that i'll get through
3RV1NS Tv they will check it if is off, don t remove it!! Go to a random service and do a diagnostics, you ll pay like 20£ , the light will disappear and after go straight to MOT centre, because it is possible that the light to come back on in 1-2 days, trust me!
miRS _# oh thanks mate. I was about was about to drive it to MOT tomorrow.
miRS _# Listen...i came up with an idea..if i cover that fuse with something that doesn't let the fuse work when it's pluged in...they will take it out or no?
3RV1NS Tv
Pretty sure it wont...they look for light to function properly during prestart on instrument cluster
And for Abs?
Does this works for E39?
I got inspection due for my e46 will this pass if I take the fuse out ?
yeah it should man
@@thatsaslow.e90 thanks for your answer another question my car I bought didn’t come with receipts would it still pass it’s inspection I don’t have airbags lights or check engine lights
There is also another annoying indicator. The brake pad indicator. Will you remove that associated fuse too? Please consider why safety indicators are provided.
Man, everyone that fucks with these old shitboxes keeps a eye their pads. Most enthusiasts that run the shit outta these cars wire the leads to the sensors together and it shuts the light off. Brakes for these things are cheap and since I usually replace pads and rotors together anyway fuuuuuuck it😂
When I do that my cruise control light turns on. Is there any way to fix this?
mr. corsi same here
That works quite well especially b4 MOTS but the problem is , as it's an instrument cluster fuse , the other lights that really matter don't function.... my car has not been involved in any sort of collision but I still don't know why my red airbag light is on... can anyone assist?....
