Congratulations 🎉 On your Move, the Views was Beautiful, your Food looks, Delicious, you both are a Beautiful Couple, thank you for sharing, love, Diana Lipski 😍
Thank you so much for watching Diana! We’re so glad you enjoyed the video and the views are certainly beautiful! I’m heading out for a walk because the mountains are clear today! 🏔️
I totally enjoyed this video and would definitely like to see more videos about life on Vancouver Island. I want to know about the vegan food, the beaches, forests, mountains, restaurants, cafés, festivals, all of it! ❤
This is great to know! I’m glad you enjoyed this video and we’re thinking of doing a video this summer about the vegan options on the island 👍🏼 it’s certainly a beautiful place to live with so much to explore!
Definitely! It’s pretty beautiful and so different from coast to coast. I could borrow some Florida weather right now though 🥰 (although where we are now in BC doesn’t get nearly as cold and snowy as what we were used to in Ontario). Thank you so much for watching ❤️!
Working on going back and watching all your videos. But have you done a video on your love story, you said you met on a ferry, I think a video like this would be of interest to many of us who really enjoy watching you guys.😊
@@letthewordspeakministries888 aw this is so sweet 🥰 we haven’t, no. We had planned to do an “ask me anything” style video where we could potential answer more casual questions about ourselves and our stories but there didn’t seem to be a huge interest in that. It’s good to know that you would be interested to hear more about us so maybe that can be a video in the new year. A little get to know us where we answer some questions.
If you’re also avoiding gluten, hotel breakfasts often don’t have much. Meal replacement powders like Vega all-in-one or Good Protein can get you nutrients, but they’re pretty low in calories. So grab snacks at the grocery store. Granola bars, nuts, or hummus, crackers, and pre-washed veggies are great. Planning stops in bigger cities is also way better for vegan and gluten-free options.
@@AThirstyPhilosopher ya that’s a great point. You can often snag some fruit from hotel breakfasts but gluten would be tough to avoid (apple slices with peanut butter maybe to try and get some protein in). Powders definitely help in these situations. We’re currently traveling now and I wish we had brought some because it’s been hard to find balanced vegan meal options. Relying on grocery stores more than restaurants for sure. Avoiding gluten is definitely even more tricky!
As soon as I saw you (the lady) I was wracking my brain trying to think where I have seen you before. Then part way in when you said your husband is working for SeaLegacy, ding ding ding. I know Paul, he's my good friend's brother. So now I know where on the island you live, THAT is why I recognized you -- I've obviously seen you somewhere. Sorry, no idea what your names are. ... Great tips, by the way. We do some of those but you added some ideas we hadn't thought of.
@@dianeschuller oh small world haha I’m kathryn and my husband is Bryan. If you see us again out and about in the area come say hi 👋🏼 😆 thanks so much for watching and I’m glad there were some helpful tips in there for you!
Absolutely loved it! I waited a long time for this and it was a pure joy to watch. It was also interesting to get to know you both, Kathryn, Brian & Max the Moose. So you’re descended from Portugal 🇵🇹 Your mum is beautiful but doesn’t look Portuguese?! Love visiting. We usually go to Madeira every year. Amazing Vegan Adventure and great to hear you landed safely from East to West side! You could make many a tempeh marinade on a couch. Great to have you back. Wish my wife would feature on my Channel! 😜 James & Jenna xx
Haha so glad you enjoyed watching James and hopefully you can rope Jenna into a video soon! I’ve never been to Medeira but next time we’re in the Azores we will have to try and visit some of the other islands. Both my parents are Portuguese actually (my moms blonde colour might be throwing you hehe). My dad was born in Portugal but all of my grandparents emigrated to Canada with all their children in tow around the same time. It’s neat to have all my family history come from one small and beautiful island. I love the tempeh idea! Keep the couch recipe ideas coming!! Haha ❤️
@@TastyThriftyTimely peel loads of garlic and place in a fermentation glass jar with Canadian Maple Syrup, then allow to ferment for several months! BOOM!!!
@TastyThriftyTimely there definitely are blonde Portuguese, my family is full of them, though their hair darkens to brown. But yup, we've got the childhood pics as proof 😊
Hello :)) I have just found you on RUclips and absolutely love your content and the recipes. I live near Vancouver, so welcome to our are of Beautiful British Columbia. Have you gone to the Vegan Restaurant, Plantitude in Ladysmith yet? :) if not, you should! :))) Thank you for sharing your wonderful recipes. I am working on your top 10 in the following weeks. :)
Oh great!! Thank you for the welcome and I’m glad you found us! We have been to plantitude a couple of times actually! There aren’t too too many fully vegan restaurants on the island but there’s another in Victoria I’ve been wanting to try, “MeeT”, I’m pretty sure they have locations in Vancouver as well, have you tried that one?
@@karryd62 haha amazing! Let me know how you like them. Eating chickpeas in cookie dough form is a little strange for our brains to make sense of I think lol but I hope you end up finding them enjoyable! And I’m glad you like MeeT, that makes me more excited to take a trip to Victoria and try it out.
Right!? It was delicious!! And as far the "pulled over a lot" section... I'm going to have to rethink giving Bryan full reign over the editing process 😉
