    This is a very, very useful video. These are all relatively tiny settings, but when they're taken all together and set up properly, they make a real world of difference in my Viewport. Thank you so much for making the video, and Well Done!!!

    This is such a helpful tip for viewport set-up - I always wondered why your screenspaces always looked like they had ambient occlusion on, or something :P

    That's a great tip, I will try this out. Although I think it's important to mention that when sculpting those should mostly be turned off since they will appear to give the model more texture than it actually has.

    • @ArtisansofVaul
      @ArtisansofVaul  Год назад

      That's a really good point. 👍🏻 Though I would still flip between them or just reduce the amount it shows using the numbers in the options as if that sculpture was for 3d printing I've found the reality to be halfway between the two extremes (though admittedly I don't sculpt a huge amount so feel free to dissagree).

    Wow, there seem to be so many hidden items in this program that if you do not know their name you would never find/understand it. I typically have wireframe on to improve visibility. Thanks for the tips!

    • @ArtisansofVaul
      @ArtisansofVaul  2 года назад +2

      Yeah, in a way its kind of frustrating when you don't know the name for it but you're sure it's there somewhere. In another way it's great that the program has SO much functionality and some of it needs to be in sub-menus or the interface would look a total mess.

    • @ArtisansofVaul
      @ArtisansofVaul  2 года назад +1

      Can I check that you have definetly selected the cavity dropdown box for both and that you have the shading type (at the top of the main box) as matcap? Ive not heard of this not working for someone and those are the likely issues.

    Great vid, useful info.
    In reverse, I've been trying to find a way to remove the outlines on typical older models. I've tried everything I can find.
    Just disabling wireframe in "view as" doesn't seem to work.
    Any help appreciated.

    • @ArtisansofVaul
      @ArtisansofVaul  2 года назад

      When you say outline, what do you mean? Just the whiter colour or the outline when you click on objects?

    • @christianperitore6617
      @christianperitore6617 2 года назад +1

      @@ArtisansofVaul Well neither... It's the standard black outline. As if I've enabled view wireframe but it doesn't go away. Again I note that it seems to occur only on older models I'm opening in newer Blender. Not sure if this is limted to Blend files or also importing OBJ or FBX. Stumped.
      PS. Your vids are growing on me, and proving quite useful.

      @@ArtisansofVaul Well Sir, I managed to find the solution to this, though I can't explain why it works... Stupidly simple, I just select the object showing the offending outlines, then TAB into Edit Mode, and TAB out back to Object Mode. Voila! No lines.
      So why would that happen, in or out?
      Again thanks for your attention and help.

    • @ArtisansofVaul

      To be honest rendering isn't really my thing (though it is something I do mean to look at at some point). I think you might want to have a look for ambient occlusions as I think that is the sort of thing you'd be wanting in a render.
