Thanks for the help I ordered the TI-Nspire book for dummies. I probably would like your cheatsheet, but I'm a senior citizen. I also ordered a highschool math book that's oriented to the TI Nspire. Those two books may be enough for my needs.

Does this calculator show step-by-step instructions to solve math problems (for example (1/2 xy - 2 y) ^3) like the photomath application for smartphones?
so I have a question on the abilities of this calculator. For example would it solve a problem that is a fraction with exponents being added or subtracted and then being divided or multiplied by another of the same? And then simplify that answer?

I discovered the problem. The two notches that snap the cover in place on on the side of the sliding cover. If you grab the cover in the center and squeeze it, it makes it very difficult to slide off the cover. You need to push from the opposite two ends so that cover is free to spring open and slide off. The other option would be ti get some very fine sand paper and sand off a bit of the tabs on the sliding cover, but be very careful not to take of too much.

American calculators are so advanced here in Ireland calculators just do basic math, squares, indices,sin cos tan, 10x,percentages, fractions, mixed fractions and decimals. where can I find this calculator??

I had that same problem, but eventually figured it out. Now I don't know how to clear the screen. It's not exactly critical because I just bought this calculator to see why it is that many people like the Casio better.

I feel your frustration! It's an irritating machine--I've only had mine for a week. On my TI Nspire CS CAS there is a button on the left that says "trig" and when I click it, it brings up the menu of all the trig functions. --DonV

On the SAT and ACT, that's true. For school subjects like Algebra 2, Precalc, and Calculus, you'd use graphing much more.

If I am understanding you correctly, yes it can. The CAS version can simplify algebraic expressions.

When i try to find for x in terms of y it tells me "error.Variable is not defined."

How do you clear the scratch pad? It's really hard to do very basic things with this calculator. It's not at all intuitive.

You need the CAS (computer algebra system) to do indefinite integrals.

You need to zoom out the camera, as we can't see all the buttons you press as you press them. Bad video. Please re-do.
