A lot of people seem to have compared this to Sifu and Sleeping Dogs but every mechanic I have seen so far is quite literally on par with Midnight fight express, just with an over the shoulder camera.
Fun fact: the phone booth design was originally used to get people suspected of crimes to confess . It is the same just with no windows or phones. The enclosed space, lack of sound & light was supposed to cause immense discomfort, & The suspect would be locked in there until they confessed. It lasted for a good few decades until it was proven to be ineffective since the suspect would just admit to the crime just to get out of the box, which resulted in a lot of false convictions. They later used the design to make the phone booth , just a bit bigger & less terrifying .
Fixes my one issue with sifu, which is the overly martial artsy fighting style, its cool and all but i just wanna straight up throw a real punch at someone, hope we see this game turn out, looks rad
Honestly, whoever this protagonist character is, i can already tell hes a badass. Kinda reminds me of the protagonist from sifu, but angrier(or i guess more aggressive)given how brutal some of these moves look.
its dope that they have actively been patching and tweaking the gameplay.....was extra rough on first day...couldnt even use the guns later...but now smoother and the guns are useable...cant wait for the full release

I love this game even tho it's just a demo right now I was a huge fan of sifu and sleeping dogs it'd be nice to get the animations tweaked out and some new moves but I've been hooked on this
This game needs more work in those transitions states from one state to the next and giving the nocs some extra weight to avoid skyrim levels of ragdoll xD
This kinda fighting games have became a thing now I guess, like back in the day when GTA became popular there were tons of sandbox gangster games most of them were actually considered GTA clones, same thing is happening with Sifu next year another game is coming out with similar game mechanics named spine

I certainly hope they don't fix the ragdoll physics; seeing enemies bounce or rocket into the sky after a takedown or combo never gets old lol
