Ps3 era was the best era in gaming… hot take but I installed one that I got as a gift and … gameplay, presentation., level design genre choices…. It was PEAK!!
Ever try out the realistic weapon damage mod? It makes every weapon have the stopping power it'd actually have in real life, even the Makarov takes down a helmeted/armor soldier in a couple shots if you aim for the mid-section, as long as you don't hit his vest. All the enemies don't suddenly take your whole AK magazine before going down, one or two rounds to the mid section at point blank range sends them down, even heavies go down with 20 rounds to the armor, so you don't have to constantly send head shots down range. It gets so satisfying seeing a hallway full of 4 or 5 guards start yelping and dropping dead as I spray or empty out my whole USP .45 mag, or spraying the whole hallway with automatic gunfire. This makes most weapons useful, but also makes the "better" weapons not so OP. It's like playing a whole new game and gives ya new tactical options because you no longer feel like you're trapped in a corner with 8 guards covering your position, you can run at them and as long as your shot placement is true, you'll still come out on top kicking ass. Replayed the whole game and every level over again due to how this transforms the gameplay and makes it into a whole new game.
I’ve beaten this game so many times on all the difficulties and I just keep coming back to it. Wish they make another one instead of putting sam in ghost recon as an Easter egg
