This was a writing decision. They actually asked Marvel if this specific Venom could only be weak to high frequency sound specifically.

FUN FACT: Symbiotes are only weak to high pitched sound because of when knull forged the allblack (necrosword: the first symbiote he pulled from his void shadow). High pitched sounds bring them back to the forge and the sound of the forge, and they are afraid of it.
Same reason as why they are weak to fire.

It does make sense since the symbiote survived entering earth’s atmosphere which doesn’t really make much sense in other marvel stories since it would’ve meant he would have burnt before touching earth’s surface
Only in Toby universe he came from a meteor. Originally he was found in the Battle World by Peter. In some universes symbiote isn't even an alien - he was created by scientists

I love it when people watch interviews where a small detail or secret is dropped, then create their own video saying the same thing as if they discovered it, hoping no one notices
Makes sense from a narrative point as well, as most life is vulnerable to fire - so making the symbiote immune to it makes for a more standout feature, whilst putting more focus on the sonics that most stories primarily use anyway
I feel like it could of been really fun if they replaced his weakness of fire with electricity and halfway through the Peter vs miles fight, miles realises that his venom powers can zap the suit right off Peter
I honestly think it could've been a synchronization thing between Harry and Venom, "You can't feel that!!?! Aw hell nah! Get me outta here."

Insomniac Venom has black Air Force energy.
That's actually more accurate as meteors do reach very high temperatures when falling to the ground
If I remember correctly, this is king in black venom, the one with wings, but before becoming The king in black
Venom isn't actually hurt by the flame but the its a mental thing like martian manhunter its essentially a weakness that can be ignored if the symbiote evolves
It's not a "mental" thing, ot physical causes them pain, only certain symbiotes like carnage (who used the darkhold) or symbiote dragons are immune to fire.

Its such a curveball too considering there is a questline about "the flame" i made sure to do the first segment before i got the suit cuz i thought it would get exploited
When he says “you ok with all this fire” I think he was talking about all the gun shots, as right before that he was telling Gary to go in stealth.
I think now in the 616 up to date universe in the comics venom has overcomed all his weaknesses but he's also a hero Now
although scientifically it does make more sense for venom to be susceptible to both heat and noise because both operate via molecular vibrations.
The entire setup for Carnage wouldn't have worked if they kept the Symbiote's weakness to fire. The choice was absolutely intentional.

But did you notice when Peter is wearing the venom symbiote, and he's in the sewer chasing lizard, there is a fire that blocks your path, and you have to put it out before proceeding, like wtf???
Any character being specifically weak to fire always seemed stupid to me
They said that this was a writing decision too make things easier on them, they were worried about how they'll incorporate all the symbiote weaknesses and decided to simplify it by just having it be sound, which honestly is a good idea that the comics should adopt as well because let's face it, fire is such a cliche and easy weakness and completely unnecessary. Spider-Man 2 in my opinion simplifies a lot of Spider-Man lore to be more effective and compelling while still staying true to the root. Another example of this is having Harry be the host for Venom instead of Eddie, which again let's be honest is more fitting and poetic than Eddie. Having Peter be Spider-Man and his best friend be one of his arch-nemesis is just so much more fitting. Overall I honestly believe Spider-Man 2 handles a lot Spider-Man lore better than the comics do.
Well actually they said they wanted him to be as unstoppable as possible so they opted for the no fire weakness

Well there’s a podcast with the writer and he just wanted to make his venom less vulnerable
I mean. Unless they are hit directly. Than fire won't hurt them. Even than, venom was known to take full blown rockets to the face and be fine besides minor injuries. It would take the equivalent of a flamethrower or full burning house to kill venom. He could even be in small bits of fire fine. It not an instant kill. But yeah, it was a decision on their part to make him immune.
Use to also be weak to electricity, I could see why they got rid of tht tho otherwise that section of the game wouldn’t have lasted more than 5 mins with miles around

It doesn't make sense for venom to be weak to fire since he arrived on earth on a meteorite which can go up into the thousands in Fahrenheit which means if he was weak to fire the symbiotes would have been burnt up before arriving on earth

I think it is due to the vibrations and frequencies of sound they can feel. Fish don’t have ears like humans but they can still recognise when a bang on/in water happens

Honestly boss I just want my black tendrils back + an option for purple to match the alt symbiote color for the classic black suit.. & maybe let you choose what symbiote outfit you want when you use surge.
Also let us Perry with the spider arms when we're not using symbiote suits please. Also also let us choose to have white webs or black webs regardless of suit because the black Webs look cooler

It's actually logically realistic as the Symbiotes was inside a meteor, and a meteor can reach about a thousand degree while entering the atmosphere.

Why? Because it's not like the movies or because it's not seen for him to be venom? You do know that it would get very old for them to use the same name for almost every venom right? Harry as venom is perfect as it brings stress to Peter and brings a better plot into the game. Rather than to just have Eddie as venom and the same old story happens like it did before.
Bio-electricity heats up over time tho so Miles's attack could potentially heat up over the course of the fight.
If you werent able to deduce that the Tombstone level was purely there to make it blatantly obvious that Venom was fireproof in this universe then you got some self reflecting to do.

If you think about it, everyone is weak to fire, no-one can touch fire for a long time and live.
If they kept that weakness, how is the symbiote stronger than any normal human?, on top of sound, fire and the other weaknesses, venom would be weaker than a normal human.
The symbiote is supposed to be addictive, it's supposed to give you the feeling of strength, being weak to everything a human is, makes it a pointless character.
I'm glad they decided to go with the "stronger, better, faster" idea with the tradeoff that you have sensitive hearing now

not forgot insomniacs guys are actaully bigger comic nerds then most the mcu guys which alone isnt saying much but compared to sony's movie department and mcu combined thats huge also i believe the video is wrong to some extent they didnt exclude his weaknesses hes still weak to electricity and sound just fire less so as it would make the gameplay loop harder it was intentional they tested fire mechanics
