Will mailbox guard be back in stock? Will there be a new video about it?
@@JohnasLindell Yes! But tomorrow I have serious surgery, and I will be recovering for a month. I will make a video later. production of mailbox sensors is ready, but I can't sell them, I won't be ready physically "for packing and shipping".
@@PricelessToolkit Good luck. I wish you a speedy recovery.
Great video. Cool product, thanks for sharing. I love how makers can add new functionality to old devices. Your videos are very well presented, clear, and the pace is perfect
Thanks for watching!
Awesome device! The fact that you do it with an open source mindset makes it extra awesome. Great product and great video!
Thank you!!!
Perfect RUclips educational video. Not too slow, not too fast, covers everything.
Oh, and the ESPClicker is freaking awesome. You saved me from having to do it myself!
wow, thanks!! 😃
@@PricelessToolkit We all know that there are billions of How-I-Did-It videos on YT and most of them are terrible. Yours is an example of how it should be done. You assume the viewer knows something and move on. @AndreasSpiess is another person whose videos are concise and to the point. And both of you manage it in English which I can only assume is not your mother tongue. I am fluent in German but could probably not make a comprehensible video in that language. I'm not even sure I could do it in English. I'm too lazy to do all the camera setups and editing. 😎
@@FranzStrasse Thank you very much for your words. when viewer writes such comments, I want to create more projects "with pleasure". By the way, I never studied English, I learned by watching films of the 90s "Before, the translation lagged behind by 1-2 seconds" 😄
@@FranzStrasse And I would add Dronebot Workshop.
Very nice design and thank you for open source
Thanks and welcome
I've made something like that with optocouplers few years ago. What I've found very important in such thing is the ability to read diodes states.
Hi, yes, you are already the fifth person to say this. Thanks,!!!!! I didn't think about it, probably I will make a V2 😃
@@PricelessToolkit definitely you should, but the project is great and with huge potential.
If you want some ideas for other PCB's
1. esp with wired 3x LD2410 and powered by 5v usb charger - important part: cable extensions for sensors so you can wrap one room around with it.
2. refurbish old android phones to run without battery as room control board, with proximity sensor to turn it on or off
(my projects that I cannot finish because of lack of time :( - so you will get at least one customer)
@@wojciechzielinski7825 Thank you very much! 🤗
@@wojciechzielinski7825does this mean the ability to read if the manual button was pressed on the coffee machine? If so this is exactly what am looking to do.
@@BrianRoy86 Yes, bistable buttons, LEDs, limit switches. Necessary, for example, when you need to manage a device whose modes are changed with one button, but it has many informative LEDs, such as Sharp purifiers. Then you receive feedback on the current state.
Great Project.
Thanks
This is really cool!
Thanks!!
Actually its normally easier to use the same ground of the pcb you are trying to control buttons from in your ESP and pull one of the buttons output to ground in order to generate a click, this is how this kind of buttons work and you can totally skip the relays doing this. This way also gives you the option of doing multiple clicks at very high speeds (as fast as the pcb microcontroller allows you) without any moving parts
For the person who has knowledge of electronics, yes it is easier, but for many its easier to connect 2 wires without knowing which side is ground
this is great! i was looking for something like this for my espresso machine.
next idea: 4 relay outputs + 4 inputs to sense state of LEDs
I want to make a 4 port KVM - "smart", I want to change any of 4 inputs, but also know which input is currently selected by sensing which 1 of 4 LEDs being "on"
Cool idea!
This might be perfect to make my hot tub smart and controllable through Home Assistant.
let me know if you need help,
Great videos mate!
Thanks!
Excellent.
Thanks!!
Just subscribed!
Thanks!!!!!!!!!
I also use esp8266 as some sort of simulated switch press to some of my device, though the only thing I need is just a esp8266, some wires and a DIL reed relay (just buy 1 or more of it, depends how many buttons you want to control) after that its just programming with esphome and treat it as a standard relay switches. Now I have a smart eneabled device without the clicking noise.
yes, that's a good option too.
Do you have a "how-to" tutorial?
Great project! I'd love to see your reflow oven modification if you have the pcb and software for that. Ive uaed a dumb reflow oven before but its a challenge to nail the profile perfectly
Yes, I feel your suffering. Give me 48 hours, I'll put everything I have on GitHub
yes please can you share the Severing reflow oven project ? It looks really cool
Hi, github.com/PricelessToolkit/ReflowOven_Backup
This might be a good way to add mini-split HVAC systems to home assistant. I wonder if there would be a was to ready the temperature setting.
Haven't tried controlling your mini-split HVAC using ESPHome with an IR diode?
Could I use this with an AC control panel? This has conductive buttons for various functions. I think as long as I can connect to the button pins it should be ok, right?
Hi , if you can solder to button connectors, then yes, but it's better to check before buying, because the traces "conductive part" can be made of graphite. and you can't solder to it
Hi, great project. maybe possible to make my waterboiler smart and connect to home assistant. Is it possible to simulate a long press? Because it automatically locks the keyboard and you need to do a long 3 second press to unlock.
Hi, yes it is possible like this
- platform: template
name: "waterboiler"
turn_on_action:
- switch.turn_on: Relay3
- delay: 3000ms
- switch.turn_off: Relay3"
esphome.io/components/switch/index.html#switch-turn-on-action
Nice video. Lol
😃 Thanks
Cool product! Would it work with Somfys RTS remotes for window blinds?
Thanks!, if you can solder wires to the button contacts then "yes".
@@PricelessToolkit I'm so gonna test this. Will let you know how it goes.
What about a knob that turns for a window AC? How could I automate that?
With Espclicker you can't. but.. if the knob is electrical "Variable Resistor" there are many, so to speak "digital resistors" which can be controlled with ESP. If it's mechanical ten you can use servomotor and ESP.
Wouldn't it be easier to program every ESP chip with a programmer before soldering it?
Yes, but by doing it this way, I am testing the entire process from A to Z. There's always a chance that the via or trace is broken.
GREAT video. Your videos are amazing! But everything on your online store is out of stock. Why?
Thanks!! I'm after the surgery, in a week everything will be available
@@PricelessToolkit I hope you get better soon. Your projects are absolutely amazing.
@@MM-321 Thanks!!!!
Already in stock.
@@PricelessToolkit Thanks! just bought two!. would you sell the MajicDeck (already assembled kit) on your site too? I'll defiantly get one if available for sale.
@PricelessToolkit
dear, do you have schematic of ESP PROG
Hi, ESP PROG ?

@@PricelessToolkit
I mean orange board in circuit programing at 6:12
Wait a little, with the next video "Mailbox Guard" I will post a new version of the programmer 2 in one "ESP+UPDI Prog"
@@PricelessToolkit
I am eager to see your esp prog schematic & want to know the difference between it & ESP+UPDI Prog
Dam, no shipping to Australia
Let me check it
Activated you can check "I don't know why it was disabled" but espclicker is on backorder now 15-20 days "then I will start sending orders in [order]"
@@PricelessToolkit Any chance to also enable Brazil as a shipping option?
@@bernabap1 yes, let me check
@@bernabap1 done
Can I just pay you to get the parts and put it together
Hi, you can order a PCB From china, and assemble it. all files are available on GitHub.
The coffee idea is nice, until you realize that the machine will clean itself first and this water will also go into your cup....
yes, it will clean the first time, I drink a lot of coffee that he doesn't have time to clean :) I sleep at 2 am and wake up at 6 am in the morning.
From the title/name of the project, i was expecting to find a fingerbot alternative, but this just looks like esp+relay. That could be improved in my opinion.
Yes, you're right, it's just an esp and a relay in a small form factor.
Oh? Will you be improving it, then?
@@johnlocke_1 I think you responded to the wrong person, i'm not the author of the video, i cannot edit the title
@Flavelius no. I commented you. You said "this could be improved in my opinion" so, have you improved it or do you enjoy cutting down people's work while contributing nothing?
@@johnlocke_1 It sounds like you're suggesting that i'm trying to say the content of the video is bad. I just said that from the title i expected to find some different content and suggested that this misunderstanding could be improved; maybe my wording was confusing, but i'm not suggesting to change the content of the video, how could i (?), but to change the title.
