1:49 Teamgroup cheap Hynix (likely) A-die. If you find this cheap, BUY IT.
5:03 Silicon Power really cheap Samsung-Hynix kits for Ryzen if ^that^ kit isn't available.
10:30 G.Skill 6000 MT/s CL30 XMP Hynix kit
14:37 Teamgroup 6800 MT/s CL34, XMP works on almost any Intel 13th Gen (A-die)
22:35 AVOID, Micron
23:44 - 33:50 A lotta rambling about 7200 MT/s and above not being stable. Don't buy faster than 7200 if you don't know what you're doing.
33:55 *2x24GB kits*
35:05 G.Skill Trident, 2x24GB clocks really well.

thank you bro
Legend!
Thank you so much!
Thank you
God bless you 😅
I like the low effort content as wel!
Yup bz vs pcpartpicker is great 😊
I usually learn more from your low effort, zero prep videos than most people's "well researched" articles. You keep doing you! 🙂
Hi B-Zoid, thanks for the tips. Please consider putting together a guide on how to approach DDR5 timing tuning when aiming at a daily-stable, low-risk, gaming performance oriented system (along the lines of this is how to approach optimizing your timings if you're only willing to invest 4 hrs to a day into it; these are the top 10 most impactful timings to address and this is the order, etc.). If there is something like this online I'm not finding it and you're well positioned to do it. Thanks!
I just found that vddcr plays a big role in stability. my r9-7950x has been unstable for a long time. After various bios updates (asus motherboard) and lots of fiddling it looks like the vddcr is not being set high enough in auto mode. Finding this information is rather tedious and almost non existent if you are new to ram overclocking.
Have you tried his "Easy memory timings for Hynix DDR5 with Ryzen 7000" video?
I'm curious if it's still relevant, considering the SoC voltage fiasco of earlier this year (the video is from before that happened).
"only" 4 hours a day 😂😂
I mean how much ram performance do you need for gaming. Usually the bottleneck is something else. Probably just leave it on stock xmp for gaming stability
Hey... I for one get nearly as much from your 'low effort' content as your heavily prepped and/or deeper subject matter. I learn more every time! Thanks
Got the 5600 T-create kit. Set MVDD to 1.42v from 1.40v MVDDQ 1.40v and use the 7600 profile on the apex. Easy y-cruncher stability.
Low effort content? I love this, I think you should do more seasonal ramblings with purchase advice like this.
This is a nice birthday present video as I have to buy new memory for my pc 🎉
Thanks as always!
good content, really useful, you helped me find DDR5 for my friend and DDR4 for myself. Much appreciated!
47:44 LMAO an Absolute classic in every bz DDR5 shopping video, never gets old.
I picked up 2 sets of the T-Create Classic kits. Thanks for the info!!!!
Bought some great RAM based on your last What DDR5 to buy guide, it's been amazing for the video editing and rendering station it's in.
instant like. doin' the lords work!
DDR5. It's a golden age.
I remember overclocking my pc 20 years ago. Great fun and learnt loads
@@FluxApex a
thanks for telling me about the G.Skill QVL. that is going to help a lot with my current AM5 build
i got some kingston 6000MT/s CL32 and used your settings from your latest ryzen 7000 memory timings and it works perfectly, and the kit costed ~230€ in my country for 64GB quite a deal tbh
Bought 2x16gb of Hyperx Renegade DDR5 6000mhz cl32 last month and they have been working flawlessly. I did a very lazy oc to 6400mhz and timings 32-38-38-28 and they also work perfect, bumped the voltage to 1.42. I was surprised to see on Taiphoon Burner that they are Hynix A die chips. Maybe its reporting wrong but I will have to test how they overclock past 6600mhz.
Something I just learned while tuning my ddr5 is that tras basically doesn't register if it goes too low. I can't remember off the top of my head but I think the minimum should be trcd + trp with perhaps a couple clocks shaved off. But 28 seems way too low. I bet if you were to change that 28 to 76 the difference in performance would be within margin of error. Might even improve speed. But the biggest performance improvement to be had is trefi. Try setting it to 60,000. You'll get way bigger gains than anything tras will give you. But only do it if you have good active cooling in your case.
I only have hynix M and I was able to get 6400 cl30 on my 5600 cl36 fury beast chips. If you have A you could probably get way higher clocks if you wanted them. Just don't forget stability testing. GL.
Thanks for this
My setup, ASUS ROG Strix Z790-A Gaming WiFi , 13700k, & your recommended RAM TEAMGROUP T-Force Delta RGB DDR5 Ram 32GB (2x16GB) 6800MHz, i popped the kit in set xmp then cranked them to 72000Mt/s & they work like a charm. OF course i ran benchmarks with just xmp enabled then after ranking then to 7200 to make sure there was an actual improvement & there was in read write Copy & latency. thanks for the great recommendation. Now if i can only get this 13700k to a decent & stable OC....
So good Buildzoid!
Unfortunately, people are reporting that the cheap TEAMGROUP T-Create Classic sticks are no longer Hynix A-Die
Great timing. With Reddit down, I'm out of my primary resources other than buildzoid recs!
Priceless Video
Is it a good idea to push the IF to 2133 on a ryzen 7800X3D? So far its stable on 2100 with an M die Hynix (6000 mhz)
Omg i was always wondering what was up with the motherboard qvl and just had started to assume that maybe with raptor lake 4 dimm boards were less of a hiderance. Good to know i actually have a reliable qvl now, didnt even think to see if there'd be a qvl on the ram manufactuerr side.
Buildzoid, I've got a question I'm hoping you can answer about QVL memory, Z690 motherboards, and 13th gen processors.
If someone is running a 13th generation Intel processor with Z690 motherboard and tries 7200 DDR5 xmp memory (not QVL) will it fail because the board can't overclock high enough to support it? Great content and thanks for any guidance you can provide.
Just bought the G-Skill Z5 DDR5 6800 CL34 kit 2 x 16gb on a new odd motherboard from MSI called the Z790 Gaming Pro Wifi and I cannot find any reviews for it but it had two ethernet ports, one 2.5G and one 1g nic and wifi 6e which is something I needed and it was cheap! But the G-Skill Z5 6800 ran first time with XMP at the rated speed and after a few tests was within the right spread for it's performance but any pushing and I run into stability issues...possibly the weak motherboard or that I am terrible at overclocking ram...CPU overclocking no issues but RAM is something I am struggling with. I suppose I had better go back over some of your a-hardcore videos on DDR5 overclocking!
So I bought the TeamGroup 5600 c46 kit it was $73 and now goes foe $75. It actually looks quite nice and in real life, better than pictures, and also low profile. I ended up getting Hynix M-Die, not A-Die, which is actually a good thing since my MSI Z790 Tomahawk apparently only does 6800 stable on y-cruncher VST. So I can run 6800c32/34 with slightly lower timings than an A die kit would do.
How do I know what die I get after buying it? is it on the sticker like some rams where B is Samsung and M is Hynix M and A is Hynix A?
@Actually Hardcore Overclocking
I have a task to build a couple of Workstations for ARM cores simulation purposes. After deciding to go for 13900K route (a bit higher performance than 7950X... I'm really dissapointed that AM5 stops at 16C :( ) and I endend in kind of a problem with RAM choosing. I need as much RAM as possible, 192GB seems to be supported with 13900K via 4x48GB sticks.
Did you have a try on running 192GB on Z790 with 13900K? If so what motherboard and ram combo would you recommend? If no what in your opinion have best chance to work?
I wonder if ~6000MHz would be reachable with 192GBs?
Bro i fkn love you, I literally hoped you made this video. What u recommend for z690 hero? My old kit I sold to a mate was a kingston 5600 which I got to 6800 stable
Thank you.
Just bought the Teamgroup Classic kit (2x32) and it’s indeed A-Die, dual rank 64GB A-Die for 200€ is a steal
Hi, I got a Gskill 2x32GB 6400 32-39-39-102 1.40V, pretty sure it's the A-die. I'm new to this, noticed the high tRAS relative to other kits. Does this affect manual OC? Should I find something else?
Thanks for awesome videos! ♥
Dear @ActuallyHardcoreOverclocking and friends, Recently I updated my Kingston 32GB 6000 CL 40 kit with the corsair vengeance 64GB 6600MHz CL32 as Buildzoid mentioned them as a good buy, I own a Z690 Aorus Pro with 13700KF. When I run XMP on I got some errors on Aida 64 really quick. I have manage to get them stable at 6000MHz with 1.35V. Will I need a new Z790 motherboard to max them out and wich one except Asus Hero and APEX ? Or I can try some voltage tweaking to reach higher speed with my current one?
You should look into the 48gb kits cuz they clock high just fine but has some weird things going on with timings at least for me
I have T-force 8200mhz 2x24gb, got tips on lowering latency? stock cooling btw
Thanks
hey, ive been looking on and off since the video came out and neither the teamgroup nor silicon power kits seemed to have been available here, is Kingston still viable? is there any minimum speed/latency i need to get?
thank you sir
Hey man. Great stuff. Just my logic here but used memory support from gigabyte (my board) and it states the ic's on the kits.
Hey I have a question for ya! Long story real short(been a week back and forth with questions from x company of board) and not much a help.I already know alot except this. 0 errors anywhere no crashing etc..What keeps Ballistix 3200 (with XMP on) @1.236v not 1.35v even though in bios volts and training I manually set @ 1.35v but voltages wont raise when i try to overclock. Board,IMC,memory itself?
How are timings affected by temps on Hynix in your experience?
edit: also "I have trust issues with the Intel memory controller" 😂
Running Kingston FURY Beast DDR5 RGB EXPO 64GB (2x32GB) 6000MT/s DDR5 CL36 -38-38 Kit of 2 - KF560C36BBEAK2-64 with your timings in the easy memory timings with Hynix ram for ryzen 7000 video. Works great but wondering if it makes a difference that these are 32gb sticks ?
Which kit from Kingston should I buy?
Just mby getting way cheaper than from shops, that's the reason for Kingston only.
Do you think the team group 2x48gb 6800 cl36 will reach its advertised speed with the Asus pro Art z790 and i9 14900k? I've been thinking getting a 2x48 gb kit as I hope it's more likely to reach the speeds in comparison to 4x32 or something and end up with the highest possible amount of ram with 2 sticks. What do you think? Also they have 6400 and cl34
Hey man, havent played with ddr5 yet because budget... Really want to but it is going to take time. About the boards not handling higher frequencies and playing the lottery on the board traces: Is there no way to increase the impedance to clean up the signal or reduce interference on the new intel chips? Does the imc start heating too much, just no setting, or just no difference regardless?
Newest intel IMC's (13th gen) are really atrocious. The quality varies by over 15% in terms of achievable frequency. Some chips will do 7800, some can only hit ~7000. Few, if any, can do 8000.
You can increase the IMC voltage but there's no fix for the IMC's being bad in themselves. One day your clocks will be perfectly stable with zero errors, another you're bluescreening constantly.
@@cieuxlux9617 So even moving to a higher resistance on the Drive Strength doesnt help with the boards? I thought he was mentioning the board traces causing issues. I didnt know about the IMC. I think Ill skip 13th then.
Can i run the T-Creeate on the crazy OC as Quad Channel?
Also, theres a 6000mhz for classic and expert.
which one to go? price difference of two bucks
To me m-Die was at it's max at 6400 cl30 @ 1.45v and very tight sub timings. 6666 never worked @ 1.45, 6800 never really worked - with my kit. It might be able to, but my CPU is locked at .92-.95 SA-V, so..whatever :D I maxed everything out
Now there is a new kit in town:
G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB DDR5-8000 BK C36 DC - 48GB
This kit I see is on QVL list for AM5 boards from Asus.
is there anything wrong with buying a cheap 16gb 4800mt/s hynix-a from klevv beside they dont have heat-sink? the part no is KD5AGUA80-48G400A (or KLEVV KD5AGUA80-48G4000)
12:07 Gotta love how 2 people mentions you here heh
I'm building a new rig on AM5 and I was curious about these 30-36-36-76 kits at 6000, I'm tempted by this Corsair one specifically : CMK64GX5M2B6000Z30
Is there better for Ryzen currently for a plug and play expo experience ? I got a 7800X3D and a X670E Steel legend, just need to decide on RAM now, looking for recommendations, 64Gb is mandatory in my case, DCS curse.
Dcs curse?
Don't know much about speed and timings and it's been hell to find reviews on the XPG Lancer ddr5 6400 kit - i *think* it's cl40? Not even sure at this point. Anyone know if it's a fine kit?

Will there be a noticeable difference between these RAMs? I don't know what performance differences to expect between CL30 and CL36. I would be very grateful for help, because my knowledge on this subject is very limited :(
I'm planning on buying a 7800X3D with ASRock B650M-HDV/M.2. Would it still be wise to buy the Teamgroup cheap Hynix and overclock ?

How does it compare to the free RAM Microcenter occasionally bundles with AMD CPU? F5-6000J3636F16GX2-FX5
Does the G.Skill F5-6000J3040F16GX2-RS5K work with the B650M-HDV/M.2?
Any suggestions for a good hynix die for r9 7950x3d? Plan is to detune to 6200 mhz.
After researching the mentioned (2 x 32) G.Skill Ripjaws ddr5 6000 cl30 option, Gigabytes QVL shows it's Intel XMP with Samsung???? While the (2 x 32) G.Skill Flare X5 F5-6000J3040G32GX2-FX5 has the same exact timings, ddr5-6000, and cl30 too. It has the Amd Expo profile and noticed that Flare X5 has the exact model numbers as the Trident Z5 but with FX5 on the end instead of "TZ5NR" for example. Really not sure, but if anyone else had some info on this Flare X5 Expo kit I'd greatly appreciate it.
So i accidently bought a ripjaws s5 cl 30 kit for my 7800x3d not realizing it was intel optimized. Would there be a big difference between 30 38 38 96 and 30 40 40 96?
If we don't do oc. What you prefer?
6000 mhz cl30? I will make an itx case for workshop and no oc. But need a good system. There is 6600 and cl38 ones. There is too many options. Hard to find
I'm upgrading my pc with CPU 7800x3d , but I'm confused about what should buy for the Rams, I prefer white color. what do you think about this one FF4D532G6000HC30DC01 if there any better than these tell me.
Hello o/ just trying to be helpful here with the guy who gave us the the ultimate memory overclocking , I bought T-force Delta 6000 / 30-36-36-76, ( white blue ) and yea it was (SK Hynix)which is (A-die) as far as I know and I was able to do the overclock settings you did on (Hynix OC episode) man it was solid! THANKS A LOT, for sharing your valued experience with us, keep it up master.
I wonder if any of you guys has 7800x3d undervolt experience , I was trying to adjust the curve [-15 all cores] pc crash and went to black screen. And with [-10] my game was crashing. I was doing it with Ryzen master, any tips will be much appreciated🙏
Try PBO2 tuner or just in bios curve adjust
You can use intel XMP DDR5 on AMD?
@@skromee yeah, expo or xmp is just a timming and speed settings.
@@skromee Yea solid as rock np, I'm using it with (Asus Rog Strix B650-A) (1416 bios) fast boot with no blue screens, errors, etc

my 7800mhz memory is completely stable xmp with my 13900KF, tested through the night for 12 hours and then gamed/streamed/worked for 3 weeks with no issues, fps drops or stutters.
The crucial 16gb 4800 cl40 sticks are now 25 quid a pop on amazon UK
56:46 What about / 7200 Cl34 2x16 Teamgroup kit? on a Asus strix z790 white one
I love these. I want one every 6 months ish
I have a Gigabyte z690 Aero D that I need memory for but G.Skill's QVL says 5600 for 2 sticks of 32GB is the max. I assume they haven't tested this board with latest BIOS updates. Is it still safe for me to get 6000? The price difference isn't that much.
Hey Buildzoid, have you ever got 7200mhz DDR5 to work on 12700k on a Z690 platform?
I am currently running a 64GB DR (32x2) SK Hynix M-die kit at 6400 30-39-39-28 @1.45v with a 12700K on a Strix z690-i 2-dimm ITX getting about 100rd/wrt/cpy @55ns. Asus says 64GB/6400 is the limit, but would this combo be able to run either faster 6800/7200 or higher capacity 96GB (48x2) kits? This one is nice and runs very tight timings, just curious!
saw this: nd5u3264320irkde timings are tighter and lower voltage
G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB Series (Intel XMP) 96GB (2 x 48GB) 288-Pin SDRAM U-DIMM DDR5 6400 CL32-39-39-102 1.35V F5-6400J3239F48GX2-TZ5RK looks nice as well, sans price tag
Going to be getting a 7800x3D in the next few days. I wanted 48-64GB of RAM - seems like two of the $72 teamgroup kits would be my best bet. I have never overclocked RAM before. What would be the best settings to start with for the 7800x3D?
Editing this in - for about $10 more, I could get a pair of 32GB in the same RAM, same brand and same listed timings, etc. Would the two 32GB be better or worse than four 16GB?
iirc 4 dimm is no bueno for speed but i could be wrong if youre manual tuning
The two 32gb running dual rank will be easier than four. Good luck on manual timing, better get cl30 if you aren't willing to spend potentially days
what comes in the T Create DDR5 6000MHz CL30-36-36-76?
Yay! Gonna build a new PC for my brother soon. Timing is amazing! (Pun on purpose.)
Zoid can you help plz! I already bought one of the Team group delta ram kits, and it has been a month and it is Hynix-A coming with 30 36-36-76 timings, the ram was working fine after I OC it to 28-36-28 timings, Couple days later I experienced my 1st pc crash in the middle of a game, I was shocked bc I thought it that my "7800x3d" "melted" I tried to post it and it was fine, then I went to bios to adjust cpu curve bc I thought it was the reason behind pc crash and I mean pc was like someone pulled the cable from the wall. I did adjust the curve and to -15 all cores (was 20) then I boot up and was fine, I played my main Cpu heavy game, then it start crashing the game randomly until I decided to Restore the system to a stable sessions I was running befor and then when System was taking a long time on memory training, then I turned off the power, from this point on pc won't post (stuck on memory training) ,clearing Cmos, removing battery didn't help, So I tried 1 ram stick at a time and I found one of them is working fine and the other one can't get it to bios, sorry mh english is bad, but I hope you get what I meant, and I really don't know what to do because I bought this ram kit from US store shipped all the way to Middle East, any idea if I can fix this faulty ram stick? Thanks in advance.
How about the new AGESA 1007b? Supposed to allow high speed DDR5 7000 or 8000 on AMD?
Is there a Hynix a-die kit with an actual extra ECC chip and lines (not on-die ECC)?
You're already seeing some random companies selling A-dies across the board. Some really good sneaky RAM for cheap. I'll gather a list and share.
Hi everyone! question about A-die B-die... How to figure out which one A or b-die? want to buy MB: MSI: MPG Z790 EDGE and 13700kf.. searching fast ram with low timing but heard about a-die and cant find it how to understend which one is it... look on G.skill ddr5 7600hrz 34 timings but is it A-die or B-die.... Can you explaining and choose good ram like 7600-8000hrz speed?!
hey buildzoid, do more gpu / motherboard pcb reviews, especially entry to mid level ones!
$2000 for a 7-segment display!
I get 6000 30 38 38 30 with a Gskill Trident with 4 sticks can almost get it down to 28 but it is randomly unstable with 4 sticks 2 sticks fine.
Does EXPO vs XMP actually matter? I've seen different people claim different things. I'm building an AMD system that needs low-profile memory, but the best kits sold in my area are XMP without EXPO.
Further, do those Teamgroup kits, being JDEC, not have either? Does this mean that with tuning, they could work on either?
I'm ootl on DDR5, I miss the simplicity of 3800 DR B-die where the goal was just tightening the timings as much as possible :(
if you re gonna manually tighten, then xmp vs expo is pointless
I have T-force Delta XMP on my (Rog B650-A) I update Bios to 1416, and I was able to run it without problems.
EXPO and XMP are basically just a set of numbers stored in different parts of the SPD chip. They don't affect manual overclocking
@@ActuallyHardcoreOverclocking thank you so much!
Bought the 5600 t create kit but the highest it will clock is 6667 even at 1.5v and completely blown out timing. I have to check the chip codes again but they weren't stamped A or M.
Any chance you do the same for the European market please?
is it worth to pay like $20 extra for the g-skill 6000 30-38 instead of 30-40 ?
Any recommendations for a stable expo kit for a r9 7950x3d?
thx
Just found out that G.Skill Flare is for AMD Expo and G.Skill Ripjaws is for Intel XMP, im buying for an am5 build but got ripjaws 6000 cl30, hopefully its gonna be okay?
How did it go? I'm confused between these two and actually want the Ripjaws one because it looks better but don't know if it will be stable for am5
haha I would have loved watching this video a couple of days ago... Bought a kit of 16GBx2 Corsair Vengeance that is Micron, and it doesn't work with my Mobo+CPU at the advertised speed, which it's 6000MT/s CL36. Was able to make it work to 5400MT/s CL40 though, but I feel ripped off haha.
Looking for a little help/suggestions. I have 4x8 crucial 4800 that run at 4000 on my 12900k asus z690-f. Was looking for something 2x16 thats stable and I don’t have to tune. Anyone have any recommendations? (Xmp doesn’t work with my current setup).
I have a 48gb kit from corsair, and as you guessed, it's micron.
What about teamgroup t-create 6400(40-40-40-84) is it a-die to?
Can anyone suggest me the fastest possible 64gb(2x32) ram kit that is stable and almost guaranteed xmp on z790 boards? Good 64gb kits are not being imported where I live and amazon service is not directly available so I have to bring a kit from abroad through someone without any chance for return.
Use purpose - video editing, 3d rendering, cgi softwares. So a fast memory would help but also has to be stable.
Trident z neo expo certified from G skill for amd has been great for me
So I think I've got a good chip. My 7800X3D with Gigabyte B650M Elite AX and G.Skill 6400 CL32 (hynix) runs at XMP 6400 all day. I'm on the newest BIOS as well, have run many many passes of memtest because I was convinced it couldn't be true. Yet, here I am?

How do you feel about the Dominator Titanium kits from Corsair? Super overpriced but the clocks I am seeing + first word latency seems pretty spicy. Realistically I’d probably just go for a 10ns kit from G.Skill and not waste the money, but I can feel the 9.697ns calling just to be able to say I have the lowest FWL I could buy…
48GB kit, one day I’ll try my luck with 4 sticks but right now I don’t trust the controller to behave with anything more than 2.
i can add the teamgroup tcreate 2x24 7200mts kit is amazing. i can get mine to run at 8200mts pretty well (we are reaching cpu limits with this one)
On ryzen?
