The cherry blossoms burst into full bloom every year, wherever or whatever even in tough times like today. Thank you for introducing the origin and historical stories of planting ”SAKURA” in Washington DC. Here in Tokyo, it seems that the peak of full bloom was over yesterday. Until next year 🌸🌸😊
@@jeevansiwakoti9955 The Tidal Basin is still open - the NPS threatened to close them if crowds became too much and people were not able to space out, but so far it is open. The parking lots are closed and some of the roads surrounding it are closed to vehicle traffic, but you're able to walk around it as of today April 01!
@@jeevansiwakoti9955 Yes! There are cherry blossom trees all over the city - the festival is mostly online but its not actually a place in itself. The most popular place to see the blooms is the Tidal Basin but there are groves around the Washington Monument, at Hains Point, in the National Arboretum. Peak blooms has already occurred and the blooms are subject to weather so whether they will be here this weekend still is not guaranteed. And if crowds at the Tidal Basin get too big, they will close that area of the city off.
There are some cherry blossoms around the city from the later blooming variety but the ones around the Tidal Basin are mostly gone. Kwanzan blossoms are still hanging on as of yesterday and there are some groves by Jefferson Memorial and other parts of DC.
A lot depends on the weather! But if the trees by the TIdal Basin (the Yoshino) aren't in full bloom anymore, there are groves of Kwanzan trees nearby at Jefferson Memorial and a little further along the river (walking distance from Tidal Basin) that bloom after the Yoshino!
In 2021, the parking lots have been closed so you can park at the Wharf or around 17th and Constitution Ave NW and walk. From either it’s about a 15 minute. Outside of rush hour restriction, you can park on Independence Ave (around 12th SW) as well and walk.
Make sure you click the gear to get this video in HD for our sunrise walk and close up video of the peak bloom!
So beautiful cherry blossom 🌸..awesome place and views! Thanks for sharing. God bless you!

Chidorigafuchi Park in the Imperial Palace is the best place to see cherry blossoms in Japan
Nice video!
Thanks!
Where did you shoot this video? Is it tidal basin??
It is! We filmed there on three different times before and during peak bloom.
@@Dcbyfoot it’s beautiful 😻
I will be driving from Baltimore to Washington, do you know if thay ask me for a covid test by driving in to Washington?
Nope, so many people make that commute each day! Covid testing is most self reported.
Is there still cherry blossoms this week?

They should plant thousands of azaleas under the cherry blossom trees.
