They thanked him heartily for his kindness and never failed to show their respect for him. It is easy to imagine they would have wanted him to enjoy the Japanese Cherry Blossoms as a token of their gratitude.
Did you know that Dogwoods were gifted in return from the US to Tokyo, Japan? They are called Hanamizuki in Japanese and now the most popular trees that line the streets in Tokyo!
I love seeing the cherry blossoms around here every year. They're part of D.C. and the DMV area's culture. Every time I see sakura blossoms in anime or another Japanese work, I think about the ones in my DC-area suburban neighborhood (they're not just in the tidal basin--there are many beautiful trees all around the area).

There's nothing quite as ethereally beautiful as spring blossom. In Japan the sakura are so revered that they even use the bark to create pink dye for fabric. It's done in the old tradition ways. What makes it so special is that you can only extract the pink colour from the tree for the 2-3 weeks when they are in flower. Magic.

It depends if it rains a lot or is very windy. If it is, the cherry blossom petals get torn off the branches faster. There's parks where I live that have lots of cherry blossoms and I've seen them last a full month on some years when the weather was sunny for a long time.

Ross who built the three dams along the Skagit, that supply electrical power to Seattle. That some starts were taken from the Japanese cherry trees in Washington DC, and transplanted to Diablo. Now the trunks of those trees are 3 or 4 ft across. IBEW Local 77.
My cherry trees weren't happy this year due to the weather bouncing between spring and winter 3 times. It ruined most of the flower buds so my trees only had flowers for 3 days

Interestingly, I enjoy the crowdedness as well as Sakura. It’s like a festival so we expect a lot of people to come out to see the flowers. But this year, after Covid, every single person came out and enjoyed themselves so maybe it was too crowded. Too bad that you couldn’t enjoy Sakura as much as I usually do. I live in the US and just came back to Japan and it is the first time in ten years that I come back in Sakura season so I’m fully enjoying each cherry blossom tree I see even though I missed the peak season.
We also have our own cherry blossom, called Balayong the ( palawan cherry blossom ), its also beautiful and is native to our country and it is now sprouting in BGC, also the authorities should plant it along edsa as well so edsa will look beatiful as well😁😁

We have true great native flowering trees which bloom at this time like the salimbobog (Crateva religiosa) and salinggogon (Cratoxylum formosum). You can search what they look like.
