Hello John, looks doable, suggestion, put the box car, hopper, and caboose into a boneyard, cannibalize 3 into one good one, then return to the other two later and paint the locomotive, I like the 290 and with that working infrastructure a good disassemble, paint, motor rebuild that thing would be a gem, 290 was sold 1949 - 1951, best Dave
Daves AFTrains excellent advice as always! I just bought Tom Barker’s new book as well and he has some ideas in how to restore some of these cars with the broken mounts too. Going to give them a try! Just painted the 290, which looks fantastic, and have some new decals on order. I’m looking forward to giving it a good run on the test track!
