    Of course you are not getting paid. That lense went out of production 50 years ago. 🙂
    Another great video.

    Im interested in this lens, but I wish you could show more than flares, like when you pan or track camera sideways to show how the edges distort and warp with the movement.

    Can this lens be used to desqueeze anamophically squeezed images coming from a 4K projector. I dont care to use it as a camera lens. Only use is for projecting non letterboxed widescreen images.

    I'm still curious too about the markings on the lenses and what's different about all the models, i got the Singer 16D, and man is that thing double the size of this 16C, and it doesn't have a front thread, having the FVD too, u gotta use a big clamp in front to mount it..

    • @Gonzalez_Films
      @Gonzalez_Films  5 лет назад

      Dima Kuzmich really no front threads that’s crazy ,so many different models of this lens someone tried to tweak appearance I guess while manufacturing.

  • @jmoss99

    Doesn't the 16-H has, IIRC, have M50x0.75 threads.

    I have a Singer 16D that I haven't got around to testing. I have all my scopes in Rapido housings to make life easier. I haven't bought the FMJ for this one yet so I haven't really tried it out. I think I'll like the look though. Not sure what color the flares will be. Good video. Cheers

    Hi Swawn, being a vintage lens, there is always the unknown of whether it may have radioactive coatings... do you know if the Sankor 16C has this "issue"?

      @@giobanca8811 no they should be clear but I know the Pentax lenses are radioactive

    Can this lens not be used by itself? Why is it mounted in front of another lens?

    • @Gonzalez_Films
      @Gonzalez_Films  3 года назад +2

      Hello it cannot be a stand alone lens it’s not meant for a mirror less camera only a projector mounting it in front of a taking lens lets you focus both of them simultaneously aka double focus

  • @ValJedi

    nice review, thx! can you tell more about building the whole anamorphic rig around gh5? from the lens rails, to the focusing module... would be sweet to see what exactly to buy, before starting to spend money XDD

    Very useful, thanks a lot! Question: do you still use Lens Turbo II or not? I plan to create the following setup [GH5]-[Lens Turbo II]-[50 mm or 85 mm vintage M42 spherical lens]-[Sankor 16c]-[Front Variable Diopter], can you comment it? Lens Turbo II (or another focal reducer) is needed/preferable or the opposite?

    • @Gonzalez_Films
      @Gonzalez_Films  4 года назад +1

      Roman Ivanov Hi Roman the lens turbo will widen your image but likely introduce vignetting depending on your taking lens if you go under 50mm but I think to be safe 58mm and above should be fine.Helios 44 is a good option.
