the third point is also that introverts don't want to (sound stupid) make fool of themselves in front of a possible future partner so they rather listen and be quiet than give themselves a chance to mess it up before anything can start.
I've been exposed
This was very true. A very shy girl liked me in high school, she was in some of my classes and everyone knew my name and mentioned it like a million times, and talked to her and mentioned my name already, yet she still intentionally refers to me as "him" or "that guy," acting like her doesn't even know me well or my name. I think they mostly do this cuz they fear looking like a "creep" or "obsessive" or fear rejection. Also, when walking past her in the hallway, she would get a super awkward look on her face and/or look down. She is still one of the shyest girls I've seen in my life, always saying nothing in class and acting super awkward when the teacher called on her to talk. We eventually dated and said she always really liked me.

I go through my entire school day without talking, not even at lunch. I have a 24/7 conversation in my mind with myself thinking a lot. The only time I talk is if I’m called on by the teacher.

Alcohol is a good friend in those times. There is a very good reason it is referred to as "liquid courage". I spent many years drunk. But I'm feeling MUCH BETTER NOW! LOL. I feel your pain, it sucks.
Social interaction is tough for introverts at the best of times, unless it's someone we know really well. It takes time for us to feel comfortable enough with people to relax and be more open, and that becomes even more tough when it's someone you like romantically because, even more than normal, you just don't know what to say and are even more concerned about how you'll come across...

Hi Lizzie, I've just found your channel today through your Signs a shy guy likes you video. You nailed it and pretty much accurately described how I was throughout my high school. Sadly I don't think any of the girls I liked found your channel and no one approached me. Throughout college I pretty much autopilot through and now that I'm out of college, I've found out in pretty lonely. I wished I had found your channel earlier so I could have tried to change myself earlier. I'm 22 right now, out of college but I'm working right next to one. I'm going to work on changing myself and participate in social events I've missed throughout college. My first step is posting this comment. I currently feel very nervous and my heart is racing just typing this comment to share with anyone that reads it but I am determined to change, even if it's just a little bit.
I work with someone who I've become a bit fond over and drawn to... its really hard to explain. The very few times ive attempted to talk to him he was non chalant and basically ignores me. Now, this makes me confused because he's kind of always looking at me? He doesn't make eye contact though unless we're speaking to each other. I'm an introvert myself so its really fucking awakard when were working near each other because I want to start a conversation but I don't because im afraid. My way of trying to talk to him was offer him candy.... LMAO he declined but thats just an example of how I socialize.
Guys ive liked in the past had a girlfriend or wasn't in to me so im also scared for that again. At this point though, I think it's safer for me mentally to stand back and let him come up to me if he wants to. Im between confused if he likes me or just doesnt care at all and just sees me as a co worker which is fine, I'm not gonna be sad it turns out he doesnt like me or has a gf. Im used to it
How is everything going between you two? I'm in the same situation that's why I'm looking up at RUclips videos. I'm an ambivert and my co worker is really an introvert. Idk he likes me or not but I feel he always looking at me and being around me. He assisted me couple of times since I asked him for help. But I'm confused.
Being an introvert, I can say that all of these are sooooo true. The one thing I didn't agree with though, was what you said at the end about taking the initiative, and just doing it. As an introvert, when I just interact with a girl for a long time as just a friend, the anxiety of possibly being put in the friend zone becomes a huge problem when interacting with them. I agree that taking initiative and asking them is easier, but I don't agree with just acting as a friend to them just because of the fear of being put in the friend zone. I hope this made sense! This is so intelligent what you say, really, the best video I've watched. One can clearly see how good you know introverts, I know a pretty introvert guy, and I would talk to him so much, asking questions etc. and he would just act so passive all the time, but at the same time very observing and focused. For example he observed you watching a book interested and some time later he is telling you about the content of that book and you were not even obvious that he was seeing your interest. And it is really true, you need to take the initiative and just get to know them
This video is a life saver haha. This describes me, seeing as I'm somewhat introverted. But now I also know what to look out for from someone of the opposite sex. GREAT video :)
Am an introvert boy and can confirm hahaha. An important point is that often a lot of confusing introvert behaviour is due to shyness. If we like you we can be even more introverted and withdrawn than we are because the shyness and the insecurity about what you think about us is so crippling.

This video has helped. I'm dealing with an introvert and literally was feeling this way. I was gonna send him an emotional text, but thank God I didnt. I would have been one on the many women who he would have tossed to the side. But I'm up for the challenge in trying to get to learn him.
First impression: video about bipolar and depression. Honest empathic and very annoyingly happy voice. Which by the way is just like mine. I sent that to my mom. You said it better then I did, and I think she felt it more because we talk the same way, when it hurts in the inside but you pass positivity and awareness too is such a struggle. Keep positive like you do so is any overly happy person who smiles through depression can make that a goal for their soul to strive for. You're amazing

I am guessing it was suggested to me after I watched a lot of Blimey Cow videos since they do similar lists and relationship topics. I have a memory of watching one of your videos in early 2013, based on the events in my life that I related it to. So therefore I am guessing that I have been watching you for about 4 years. I am subscribed to hundreds of RUclips channels, dozens of which I watch at least a few times a month. And out of all of those channels, currently I find your content the most fascinating. You are pioneering moral philosophy and theology on this platform in a more advanced and nuanced way than anyone else I have followed. Keep it up!

This is the first video of you I have seen. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I love someone like this. He hasn't talked to me more than four sentences (all texts) in seven months. That probably is more like moving on and less like building up to something great, like we had been doing. Only God and His timing will tell.

I am a 17 year old introverted man, not shy at all i am very confident in myself, i am calm, reserved, private, relaxed, open minded, very future oriented and a brainstormer, i have quite the poker face irl, while outside my house, i don't look at anyone, i mind my own buisness, i have no friends (i am not lonely because i have God, and he is my only true friend) spending time what i like doing, although i have a strong poker face, if you manage to grab my interest whatever way you can, i can giggle a lot, and smile really widely, i am quite giggly...and very very ticklish...alrighty enough information, have a good day to whoever read this or not, bye
For me, I think for hours and days prior to a person im going to talk to or have a conversation with, but when it comes to the time for the conversation, the words just don't flow out the same as it does in the head

Decent video. Although every person completely different (even if they are the same type - INTJ, INFJ eg.), you managed to still hit the nails head.
Few of the common "weaknesses" of my own personality i have managed to overcome, some of the examples would be social skills and patience, although i'm still working on them. It's somewhat (not always) easier to understand others, give advice etc., then to understand myself.
Learning about all the personality types will greatly help introverts to fit in. It will help you understand yourself better and of course understand people around you. I have also learned to quit certain subjects or arguments with people who doesn't understand me or i don't understand them. For example some people are absolutely not open to new ideas or changing old ways. I have also noticed that people usually want short term solutions, what potentially could have bad impacts in long term run OR in the future, as i look for only most efficient long term solutions (this is an example from work and what i have experienced working in teams). People often say i can be weird or even crazy sometimes, so that's something i have also learned to live it, because people are wired differently. Ain't nothing bad about being different from the crowd, as there still are plenty of introverts (or your type of people) left in the world who can make perfect friends or companion :)

It also feels like invasion when someone calls or messages you invading your time and space I need to choose when I'm ready to talk... due to abuse I use to people please fearing not replying as soon as they talk but now I don't do I listen to me and do best for me that but I'm still working on guilt

All of these things u were talking about is so true. like spot on girl👌👌 and number 3 is super true like it happens with me a lot and I get kind of panicky when it does happen and what ends up happening is I rush my words so sometimes what I'm saying doesn't make sense and I'm just like 😠😠😥😥afterwards cause I knew that I panicked when I just needed to stay calm but it's hard especially when it's an unexpected question. Also the physical touches like simply hugging is super awkward and different for me but I do feel better expressing myself with writing and it helps a lot but I don't really show a lot of people it

Hey, Lizzie! I used to think I was extremely introverted, but I feel like I became a lot more extroverted as I got older. Maybe I'm an ambivert? Ahahaha, I have no idea! I think the first video I ever watched of yours was "signs a guy likes you" (or something of the sort).
When I am interested in a guy, I usually just stare from afar. Though once he starts making moves, I instantly withdraw from the situation. I think this is because I have an anxious-avoidant/fearful-avoidant attachment. I honestly believe understanding your partners attachment style makes the "signs" easier to understand!
As a introverted male I would say alot of the point you bring up apply but not all of it so i would say that you should probably state that in the video, i know it's implied but some people don't always get that also if you have any other questions feel free to msg me.
I really enjoyed this video cause i can totally relate to all of that. i need some second opinion though, and here's the situation: i am an introvert and have a friend who's also an introvert. when we just met for the first time, we made a connection right away. and since we had a chance to see each other every week, we became close and always had very meaningful conversations. and i noticed that she kinda likes me cause occasionally she would show those signs of attraction. so eventually i called her out and we had a good time, but after that she started ignoring me and i found out that she got a boyfriend a few weeks before that. so i thought like, ok, i won't bother her anymore and we'll just keep being friends. but the guy broke up with her after a year of dating, and she was really broken because of that. so i thought to myself that maybe this would be a good chance for us to become something more that just friends. in a couple months i called her out for a few times, but she wouldn't agree to go, and then she would ignore me for a while and then everything would be ok again. kinda confusing lol. she's still nice and open with me, although now we don't talk as much as we used to. i don't call her out cause i don't want to feel rejected again, but at the same time i feel like there's still a connection and maybe even a potential for a relationship. so what am i supposed to do??? i really like her and she's definitely the best girl i've ever met in my entire life. but i'm confused and tired of this uncertainty... give me some advise, please, i'd appreciate that a lot

patients. I keep her eyes on me bye being attractive and gentle at the times I am around her. I make sure to acknowledge her plus I can't help it. i see her twice out the week. but don't push it I literally get one email out of like 5 I send trying to gentlemanly start conversation. I am contemplating the way to ask for her number but since I been seeing interest levels rise I need more info because it seems timing is everything.

This video feeds my heart! It's me, and I think maybe a guy who has my interest. We had a fairly intense 2 hour conversation, then he ignored me totally the next day. I thought he just suddenly changed, and I was like WTF? If he is truly an introvert, there's hope. I am one, too, so can understand the drain of interacting with people.

Wow, so true, great video, I am an introvert, I think my crush might be too but I'm not really sure, I've liked him for eight years, he's known for like five years and I've heard off and on that he likes me back, were pretty good friends too, we don't speak often because, well, introverted, but when we do talk it lasts forever, I remember more then once in high school during lunch we would sometimes acknowledge each other's presence and as soon as one of us said hi then we would literally end up standing the the middle of the hallway for the rest of lunch, lol, recently I decided I needed to be straight forward and tell him how I feel because I was getting very mixed feelings, so I did, he said he didn't like me in that way and it broke my heart but we still remained great friends, then two weeks ago he asked me, out of no where, what my thoughts on kissing were, I was honest with him and said I thought it was gross, then we kept talking and I became just more and more confused so I told him, he said he wants more then just a best friend to talk to, he wants a physical relationship and he said he doesn't think I'm ready for that, that just confused me more like does he like me? If he liked me couldn't we like meet in the middle? We've had these conversations before too, I'm so confused so I've just like completely shut down those emotions to not get hurt by them again cause that's my defence mechanism
Also the writing one is so very true too, whenever I see him I get so shy and nervous, saying hi is always so hard and although we can continue easily it's usually like about school and like simple stuff, but when texting I could write forever and about like deep stuff, we often have deep convos by text and I wish we could have them talking too but it never happens, lol

First Impression: I was comforted by the simple fact that other people actually care about the totality of Christianity as a whole church. It truly makes me happy just knowing that there are other people out in the world who are actively looking for the similarities more than the differences in Christianity. Although there shall remain some topics we disagree on, ultimately you seem to be passionate and also naturally intellectual. This fact too also is comforting in that i only seem to come across such people a dozen times per year a out of thousands that is meet. :-) Never the less, take care and keep up the good work

I have this friend that I have been hanging out with for awhile. And he recently said that I am the First fave person he added into his close circle of friends. And he is an extremely introverted. He has been giving me weird vibes! I am not sure if i am reading too much into this. But, hell, it's so confusing!
So it looks like it's extremely difficult to tell apart an introvert being interested from a no intrested guy 😂😂
These signs describe low confidence, dithering, nice guy traits. Introverts simply need rest from socialization to do it well rather than gaining energy from doing it well like extroverts. There's no difference in behaviors or social methods at all. An introvert can be outgoing and nice--but prefers to be alone. The extrovert can be shy and awkward and miss social cues and still prefer to gain energy from being around people. This video describes dithering nice guys--not introverts.

My first thoughts were, "she's pretty cute but not my type."

Introvert here and woah, I guess there were things that even I haven't noticed before...I used to liked a guy in my class and whenever he sat near me, I'd always sort of mirror his movements, whether i'd be fiddling with his pen, looking outside etc.

not a bad video but a couple things from an introvert. first and most important you have to accept them for who they are. secondly, idle banter is DRAINING and pointless to us. Lastly we rarely make the first move so keep that in mind if you are interested in an introvert and try to learn the difference between introversion and shyness, yes introverts can be shy, but by no means is it the same thing and learning that difference will help you communicate better :D
