    The studios will bail them out. John said it himself: the studios will be hurt if this chain goes under. For a lot of people, AMC is the only theater for miles. If people don’t have convenient access to theaters, they don’t go. If they don’t go, revenue for the entire industry takes a hit.

    • @jessemorales146
      @jessemorales146 4 года назад +4

      hothotheat3000 that’s not really the issue. The theaters will of course open again. It’s wether AMC will still be the owners of those theaters, or if there will be new ownership.
      And wether AMC is still the owner or someone else, it doesn’t affect the studios. As long the theaters are still running.

      Tom13 O'Clock as much as I’d hate to agree with your comment because I love theaters so much, you’re probably right. The technology your average consumer can buy nowadays is almost matching theaters. My home theater is amazing. I still go to the movies a lot, but I pay lots of money to have the best equipment at home, and honestly not too many theaters can beat it except for the high quality screen formats. But if it weren’t for movies not being available on blu ray or digital 3 to 6 months after theater release, I probably wouldn’t go to the movies. Spoilers are the only keeping me in the theaters still.

    I’m more of a Regal guy, but I don’t want AMC theaters to go bankrupt. After all, during my one year stay in Maryland, I went to the AMC theaters many times when it was closer to my home I used to live and I thought the whole theater itself look great after watching some movies. I don’t want many AMC theaters to get close down because of this so I want them to continue to do what they can to get much money.

I have a feeling in the future there will be less movie theatres with less attendance. The window from movie theater release to streaming on demand & DVD/Blu-ray release is currently 3 months. In the future this window will probably be shorter to 1 to 2 months.

      @@s1ddo Right now none of it is. Back rent to the land lords is a new debt that will only grow as more times goes by and be added on top of what they already owe to others. At this point AMC is like the guy that lost his job in the same week that he has to pay rent, utilities, the kids school, and also had his car totaled.

      Martin Moore ...not really because they got bought out by a firm from the U.K. that happens to be a #1 in cinema in that country.

      @Martin Moore Regal Cinemas is owned by Cineworld if not mistaken , If the worst comes to Regal it will be a shutdown of some of their theatres cause Cineworld is a UK based chain so it's a thin line but anything can happen cause it's a dire period we are in
