Hello Dave, The 4610 Fords that we had In Kentucky had the “Shuttle Shift”which was located on the left side of the dash console and steering wheel. Our Fords were equipped with the Triumph Side Sickle Mowers which were hydraulic powered and had the reservoir tank mounted on the right front area of the tractor Not only were there tractors used with the side sickle mowers and the “Bush Hog” type rotary mowers in the back, These tractors were also equipped with front mounted road brooms which often used the hydraulic pump system repurposed from the mowing setup that I mentioned. The 4610 Ford tractors were very reliable and easier to operate because of its size. Very seldom did they ever have to come in for repairs.
We have a 4600 diesel used it in the orchard pulling the sprayer, and whatever we needed. Excellent tractors. Neighbors have a 3000, 5600 and 6600 they plant hay and rake hay with them.
Hi i love your videos. Subscriber here. Would you reccomend this okd Ford for keeping fuve acres mowed up? Do you have a better recommendation? If you have time to respond that is. Thanks so much
A N series Ford tractor would do the trick for 5 acres with a 5 ft rotary mower was all you would need you would just take you an hour or two and everything would be mowed
Farmer next door had one and it was an excellent tractor. He put over 9000 hours on it with no major problems.
Those are absolutely excellent tractors.
