He has been getting intense medical treatment for 15 months in Calgary, Canada, he has a few more months left. He has been very sick for the last 13 yrs. The treatment is for a handful of illnesses from his disease, but the goal is to get him back to 65-70% of his health. He doesn't have the energy and stamina right now. He would easily have sold out shows, even months ago if he was healthy. I think he is trying to get well enough to at least do limited concerts. I know if he comes anywhere near the Midwest US, I will take a road trip to see him.

In his Zach Sang interview, he says you won't be able to keep him off the stage, even if he he doesn't do the high pressure tours. He wants to do some more creative type shows anyway.

Road trip... I'd book a flight if I had too... I'd love to see him perform live. Especially if he ends up doing smaller venues where you can really see / hear him. I think it would be interesting to see how many Ren fans you could meet driving to a concert. I bet you'd find them everywhere enroute.

When you listen to Ren you feel like he is singing just for you. He just connects like no other.

This was another brilliant ReNtake. Just Ren doing Ren things. Crazy runs and harmonies, filthy bars to remind us that he is also still a cheeky boi, and that voice that’s perfect for Sting/The Police songs. Ren has music in his soul and pours so much soul into everything he does.

I love how he took two songs from different times in music, and of very different genres and made a really different and unique song. I also love how is blended parts of each song into the other, but did it a subtle way that sounded very cohesive. He took the riff from “message in a bottle” and used under the second verse of “back on 74” and then used the “let it go” from “back on 74” in “message in a bottle”. His ear for music is incredible and impeccable.
Definitely has an excellent ear when it comes to these medleys and arrangements, such a great talent!

He has talked about touring, but he'd want to spend a week in a space and do more of a busking style tour... Like chill in Vegas for a week, and announcing where he'll be playing on the streets a few days of the week, with maybe one paid concert (at least that's how I took what I heard in his most recent interview). I would figure out a way to get there if he ever does something like that!!!
