I've owned a G Wagon since 2005 and the current prices are NOT "Dirt Cheap". G Wagons used to depreciate like most vehicles up until around 2017/2018 when everything changed. Before that you could get a used pristine 5 year old G Wagon with 35,000 miles for $50K or less. Now it's a 7 or 8 year old G Wagon in questionable shape with 60,000 miles + and they want $70K+ for it. If you want anything relatively newer, you're paying $120K+ and it's USED. While new G Wagon's aren't going for MSRP + 25K any longer - they are still super expensive and aren't depreciating very quickly. Good Luck.
When I was stationed in Europe in the early ‘90s, the German military used these as GP trucks - just another diesel rattle-wagon in the motor pool. Mercedes struck gold when they put V8s and leather seats in and found us Americans willing to pay Duck Tales money for them. No thanks.
