  • @VladimirLR25648943
    @VladimirLR25648943 5 месяцев назад +6

    Little correction. Yamaha sells a triple pedal unit than they aren't attatched on the wooden stand, and works if you use th X-shaped stand. Plus it's a little bit cheaper. And on the mic settings you can set the volume of the mic and the gain, so you can put it low for better mixing on the recording

    • @Dino-kh5ze
      @Dino-kh5ze Месяц назад +1

      Which triple pedal? Yes I know about the volume. DO you have any suggestion as to how to set the volume on the piano? I just experimented with different microphones and some I had to set lower. But I tried to get them as loud as possible in order to get something to work with in Cubase. But who knows what to do.

    Thanks. Isn't the wooden key thing just a stunt? Anyway its the weight at the end plus the length of the piano keys that determine the feel and fastness and how much it resembles a real piano. So I think that wood would not make any difference AT ALL. Just my perspective although I have no evidence whatsoever. HOnestly I think that is quite a stupid argument made by the industry. Well not stupid in the sense of earning more money.

    I found a Z-stand to be more stable than an X-stand at about the same price. Also, I was able to modify the 3-pedal unit in about an hour with a drill and a hacksaw so that it rests on the floor. Some cable management for the wires and good to go!

    • @goosedogtransam1020
      @goosedogtransam1020 6 месяцев назад

      I agree on the X-stand, but I will say that for me it is sometimes a knee knocker. You can also just find a suitable shim for under the pedal unit if you want to avoid modifying it.

  • @richardminnich4249
    @richardminnich4249 3 года назад +7

    A couple of comments: I have a dgx 650, but things don't seem to have changed a lot. The stand is too short for me, I use a 'Z' stand. I hooked up the pedal arrangement to my stand with electrical ties. Those plastic keys are a pain in the ass for a real pianist - fingers slip and don't feel right. It is a great synthesizer, or as a beginner's piano, Only has a single stereo output, so you can't directly record a stereo stream to your PC and listen on a headset at the same time. If you want to take it out to a recording software on your P.S., you also need to have a converter from midi or audio signals to digital.

    Really helpful! I was looking at what suitable stand to buy as I am disabled and my leg needs constant elevation and needs to clear the piano underneath. Something perhaps for the manufacturers to consider, not all people are able to put their legs down underneath a piano and need the clearance. Disabled people would also like a nice wooden stand for their piano with the necessary adjustments if possible.

    I have owned a DGX-650 for more than ten years now. It's still going strong. I also own the furniture stand (that came with my 650) and the old, discontinued LP-7A 3-pedal unit that I bought later.
    I have no intention of trading in my 650 for a newer model, but if I were in the market today for something like this, I would have to lean toward the Roland FP-E50 instead.
    While the DGX is perfectly adequate for use in the home, it's not ideal for anything else, like gigging.
    There are no L/R outputs. It's also very heavy, even by the standards of 88-key weighted keyboards. The Roland still has 88 weighted keys, but it's quite a bit more portable and has those L/R outputs.
    I think the Roland has superior tones as well with their Zen Core sound engine. It's not that the Yamaha's tones are bad, but they are just not as good.
    With regard to the furniture stand and the 3-pedal unit, I appreciate the stability and appearance of the furniture stand. I don't really need the 3-pedal unit. After all, you can easily compensate for the lack of a soft pedal by simply turning down the volume. I would recommend getting a better single pedal than what comes with this thing. There are definitely more realistic single pedals that cost very little.
    The furniture stand does have a drawback, and that is the inability to mount a second keyboard or a laptop to it. If you use an X stand (better use a Double-X stand with a keyboard this size) or something else more modular, you can be more versatile.
    If there's one area where the Yamaha does defeat the Roland, it's the built-in speakers. The Yamaha does sound great on its own, whereas I would recommend plugging the Roland in to external speakers. But those nice speakers on the Yamaha come at a cost of portability for gigging. The Roland still has built-in speakers, but their placement means they will never sound as good.
    If you want something to use purely at home, the Yamaha is a great choice. But if you ever want to gig, the Roland is a clear winner.

    I had a Yamaha dgx 660 which had a headphone out, but with a possibility via menu to switch to line out. I purchased the dgx 670 which is a terrific keyboard, a complete overhaul of the previous models. My big dissapointment was that the line out possibility of the dgx 660 had dissapeared. Because this keyboard is so good for such a modest price maybe Yamaha wanted to protect their high end models? You can't have it all it seems...

    Hi Chris: I recently purchased an SX900 and am slowly learning the many features. One of the reasons I chose this model was the mic and guitar inputs and harmonizing features. I have been using a Yamaha PSR E433 for years and recording into a Zoom 24, but want to take advantage of the onboard recording in the SX900. All the tutorials I have seen to date show how to record to the SX900 but not how to recall a previously recorded song and then add vocals or guitar to it. Could you demonstrate how this is done? Two(2) separate questions.

    (2) I understand that a given recording is preserved on a flash drive. Are these files saved on the flash drive able to reproduce given recordings on a pdf file, therefore reproducing say a format printable to copy paper 8.5×11 inch hard copies of score sheet music?

    A double brace X stand? Oh, yuck. Those always hit my knees!!! I'm visiting India right now, and it is far easier to buy gold here as compared to the DGX670 which is very hard to find. Waiting time is weeks, maybe months. Anyhow, a couple of important points:
    1. The Aux (and microphone) input volume can be adjusted. What's the big deal, you ask? While using a piano learning app like Piano Marvel, which connects by USB to a laptop, you can connect audio from the laptop into the DGX670, while turning the onboard speakers down to zero.
    2. As to the background rhythms, called Styles by Yamaha, are so easy to locate. In contrast, on the Kawai ES920, you have to scroll through 100 of them to find what you want. Sheesh. Wake up, Kawai!
    I'm visiting India for a few weeks and was very lucky indeed to find one of these after waiting 3 weeks. It is just amazing. I'd choose this any day over the Kawai ES920 which I bought in the USA last year. But mind you, the ES920 has wonderful sound, superb keyboard action. I have no regrets buying that. Does the ES920 have wooden keys? I'll tell you! I don't know! It has a superb Onkyo The website just says ivory touch surface, whatever that means! designed sound system, 40 Watt output. But the DGX670 has more than adequate sound volume for a big room even.

Il Bluetooth permette solo di trasferire la musica dal dispositivo alle casse del pianoforte o si possono utilizzare anche altre app di brand diversi quali Kawai, Roland, Casio? Grazie mille e un saluto dall'Italia.

    Bluetooth is always laggy with music , but using a radio signal such as VHF works well. As you have stated, direct connection is always best.

    Hi, this digital piano has microphone input for singing and hearing vocals from the built-in speakers.
    Does the microphone signal have effects such as echo, delay, chorus?

    Keyboard player here. I don't know much about this specific instrument but I've thought about 3 things. 1) The sustain pedal that comes with the instrument is useless. Throw it out and get a real after-market sustain pedal that has a rubber heel support that will prevent the pedal from sliding away from you as you press down on it (which is exactly what will happen with the included pedal). The heel support is a piece of rubber that swings out like a pocket knife and you rest your heel on it to keep the pedal from moving around under your foot. As a side note, most people aren't going to need all 3 pedals so the Yamaha piano 3-pedal attachment will probably be a waste of money. Just buy a single sustain pedal and you'll be fine. 2) The presenter is correct about the stand. An X-style stand is a good choice. A better choice I think (my personal favorite) is a Z-style stand. I prefer a Z-style over the X-style because all of the space at your feet is completely clear, as opposed to the X-style frame where the crossbars are very close to your shins. But still, either one is better than the cheap, flimsy pressboard stand that Yamaha sells. 3) You'll need to choose a seat. There are folding padded bench-style seats made specifically for keyboard players. I do have one but I don't use it very much. I personally use a folding 3-legged seat called a drummer's throne. But just pick something that's comfortable for you.

      Just a shot in the dark. My best guess is to plug from headphone jack directly to mixer, preamp, or main amplifier. Make sure mixer or amp settings are at zero low level, so you don't risk blowing out soeakers?

    Thanks.

    • @ePianoscouk
      @ePianoscouk  Год назад

      There's no difference at all. Some stores simply put the 'B' on the end to signify that it's in the black finish instead of the white. With the white finish, you may see DGX670WH. I hope that helps!

    • @ePianoscouk
      @ePianoscouk  Год назад

      On reflection, I think you're probably right, Robert. At 6:02, I say it's very easy to move for one person without the legs attached. It's certainly not impossible for one person to carry, however, as you say, it's not something you'll want to do very often. Two people will find it much easier to carry. That being said, let's remember - it's undoubtedly easier than moving a traditional piano!
